  1. Buying servers so free to play worlds can remain 1/4 full is like making sure the hobo, who lives in the dumpster outside your window, has a nice big recliner in there so he can feel comfortable.
  2. Does the bonus get added to the ship's stats e.g. +100 to combat towards overall stats for for 4 unique members, or does it add 100 to the varrock chef's morale?
  3. Considering it's far, far less than a 1/13 chance of landing on that spot I think it stands to reason that item placement means absolutely nothing at all. Just because two items are on the same spot (huge lamp and 200m) doesn't mean that they both have the same chance of being received. I am inclined to think that it could well be the same chance of landing on the centre slot, but the population of the centre slot is free to vary by chance. Say if it were 1/10,000 for centre slot, and then 1/30 chance of the centre slot being 200M, we end up with a 1/300,000 chance of the 200M. Then extending it could be 1/2,500 chance of landing on of the red slots, and 1/200 chance of that red slot being 200M, leading to a 1/500,000 chance of the 200M. (Numbers chosen for simplicity, not to reflect real world values.) Tl;dr - I think it is fair to be disappointed getting junk off the super-rare slot. The die with the hardest odds rolled in your favour, whereas the die with much friendlier odds did not. In the end though huge lamps are obviously more common than the 200m prize. It's like getting mad you got a dragon leg drop because it "could have been a visage" simply because they're both "rare" drops.

  5. Just did a story mission for the whaler, came out with new knowledge of his fight with the whale.
  6. We're taking an entire ship and it's crew out to sea on a dangerous mission to find....wet gunpowder...?
  7. No idea on how easy solo is, but the respawn time is absolutely horrible, one of the longest in game, if I remember correctly it's something like 1-3 minutes. I'd just cancel the task. Edit: Then again, you might be able to get decent kills using the friends list "join" option to hop between worlds without the 30 second delay.
  8. Eating my words right now.
  9. I'd much rather have challenging missions and have to gamble on an 80% success rate sometimes than have "Go slaughter some mudcrabs on pony island, beware their fearsome claws!: 200 combat/morale requirement"
  10. How do they even get to shore without some sort of small boat >.>
  11. Implying they, for some reason don't carry a lifeboat anyway.
  12. Smelting gold ore is ~2.67 gp/xp and crafting water battlestaves is ~2.98 gp/xp gaining 80k and 203k xp/hr respectively, pretty cheap for armor that's better than Nex sets. 13. Pretty safe bet that they're equally pointless, without taking into account future updates of course.
  14. How much more xp/hr will they get me doing Draconics? Also is there anything can I do to improve xp rates beyond scentless potions? Currently using all the witchdoctor camo and Zamorak's favor potions.
  15. Looks like I lucked out with a 5,000 combat mission, from what I see the easiest stat to get.
  16. Unless those people are RWT'ers. Then they're the heroes for fighting against a corrupt empire and you should, without question, support them. *imagines Batman selling Runescape gold*
  17. That'd completely defeat the purpose of the EoC armor rebalancing. Have nex drop top-tier rings and amulets? Sure. But drop the only armor in the game w/ offensive boosts (excluding void and TzHaar)? Absolutely not. I don't see what's wrong with making the (now second) best armour in the game desirable. A bit of str/crit isn't that overpowered. Simply adding crit bonus doesn't make it better armor, it makes it a better weapon. If we want a reason to buy high level armor we need high level monsters or bosses. The problem with most bosses right now is that they take a very short time to get back to or you don't even need to bank at all so you can just get a few kills then grab your ancient ceremonial set or whatever and jump right back in. If say QBD took 5 minutes to get to for a 5 minute fight, using nex gear might be a good idea as you're more likely to last for two kills which means every hour you're potentially making money for 40 minutes instead of 30, and with level 99 armor you could be getting three or four kills. I've failed a few missions and only had a crewman die once. Right after you click the "check results" button it will tell you that you failed in place of what items you received.
  18. How to properly declare the death of Runescape:
  19. I wanted the SS Anne but it's not available. A thousand curses Jagex.
  20. At first I was mad when I realized there were My Little Pony references snuck in, but now I'm even angrier now that I realize the huge missed opportunity for them to add in some Spongebob references. They seriously opted to go with brony pandering over actually fitting Spongebob references? Major disappointment. Riot w66 Falador!
  21. Except Black salamander is T70, and the ammo is so cheap i practically have to play for months straight doing nothing but shooting tars on auto attack for the cost to even start approach Royal crossbows. I was using expensive in relative terms, I was comparing a weapon costing millions to something that barely costs 200gp This also means you are making money 14% slower with the black salamander. The royal crossbow's extra damage and accuracy will easily pay for itself and then you'll have the best 2h ranged weapon. Easily worth the meager 4m price tag, and the minor challenge of a qbd kill. Edit: What's the break rate on bolts with accumulator? Last I checked royal bolts were around 3 times the price of harallander tar so they might actually be cheaper per shot if the break rate is 1 in 3 or lower which I don't find too hard to believe.
  22. I hope for once we get armor that isn't just spikes everywhere.
  23. Holy crap I thought you made up the captain's log bit.
  24. Well, if they were going to copy any game I'm glad they copied the mission system from Assassin's Creed.
