Flash Running: first find out how much you kg cost an energy point and then use some delay activities that requires animation (superheating, alching, etc) to increase the speed while reducing the energy cost to around 1-2 points. When you flag the destination point near the edge of the mini-map and then use superheat bar spell, your character will pause to cast the spell and then he will run for half-way before walking (even faster if he was running). But take note: casting superheat causes only 3sec delays and walking half-way to the edge requires about 8 secs, making a total of 11secs; however, using delay running, you be about 4-5 secs faster than walking, thus taking only 6-7secs. May I ask what was your mining level, and did you bank the ores? My mining level was around 650 when I started to mine Iron in West Varrock Mine, and I always banked all of my irons. On a nearly full world, I can get an inventory of iron under 2mins with Rune Pick, then I walk 3/4 way back and run the rest 1/4 to bank (it is useful to know how to run flashing to save energy points). East Varrock Mine is slightly closer to bank than West Mine (by about 1sec)

The gravestone appears when you are killed (only if you are not in Clan War, Bounty Hunter, or skulled). Its function is to hold your items in place for a short period of time, so no one can get to your item after death; however, there is a timer that if you failed to get back in item, the entire loot will disappear forever. You still keep top three items on you when respawned, but you will have to run back to the place of death for the rest. You can go to Lumbridge Church (the place where you started the Restless Ghost) and ask Father to change your gravestone (it will cost money to do so). The longest timer is 3 mins for 5kgp

Whip is very good for speed and attack, the plus is that you dont have to repair it. The only downside is that the attack style is limited (only 1)
