F2p Probs
Alright, so I started back at Uni, got settled into everything and am now back to playing after having quit my subscription because I just can't really be consistent in playing enough. So what I was wondering was what were some of the best ways to train certain things in f2p so that way when I come back to playing members during winter and next summer I can go out and train the rest of my stats up as well. Stats I'm looking at specifically would be: Fishing Crafting Firemaking Woodcutting Smithing Mining And all of those are really in order of what I would be doing them as far as achieving goals. I like to be cheap but I don't mind spending money if I have to. Also I would like to get into flipping some things and I only have about 36m to work with but I've never flipped before so maybe some advice on that as well.

Wat? Why can't I get this sort of luck when i go to TDs or anywhere else?? EDIT: Got another quintus key after this, still on task. Rare drop? Really? EDIT2: Ended up with a task of 116 with a total of 6 keystones, 2 quintus, 2 tertius, 1 primus, and 1 sextus... is that normal? I was killing the healers casually and just really wasting time....

Recommended quests?
Its worth doing RFD only after you've completed the prereqs for the subquests, as it will help you when you go for achievements in the desert you need practically all quests anyway. But doing all the prereqs first ensures you won't forget about some little part of it.

pickpocketing elves
You recharge them all on another one of the crystal's charges... and its very close to tele there and then walk to one of the spawns for eluned to recharge them. But if you're just looking to get by for this one daily challenge then charter a ship, and get there through the forest, unlock the lodestone on your way to lletya and you'll be able to come back easier than chartering a ship...

pickpocketing elves
Quick and easy teleport, once you get a few its not that hard, its a cheap tele and good for pengs as well as other things. And I imagine with the release of a home tele to the elf lands we will see more content in that area within the next year or so.

 Nalz An Unlikely Hero
Sorry for kind of hijacking, but what fc are you guys in around that time most nights? I should be on and would LOVE to get back into doing WBs. I've just had a few bad experiences with bigger fcs and don't like getting pked. Its frustrating.lol

Another boss to solo
The requirements for glacors are everything for TDs as well as doing an extra quest and a few things other than that so in all honesty I'd just go get TDs unlocked if for nothing else than to do them for fun. They are enjoyable as far as any boss i've ever done.

I just noticed... in previous pictures you didn't have the lantern in your inventory during some TD trips. Did you drop it to pick something up or what?

Melee Training
It used to be, but now for higher level training you get less xp if the monster isn't your lvl. It's still good rates from what I understand if you afk it, but nothing like cauldron and such. Red spiders according to the guide maxed out at around 200k-230k xp/hr(the best in f2p easily), while i've heard cauldron is around 300k/hr.

Melee Training
It seems to be trolling because that is in fact a poor choice to train melee stats... unless you're f2p. Anyway, back OT, if you've tried doing cauldron, I would try out the things listed here at: http://runescape.wik..._melee_training See which ones you enjoy the most, or find the best for how you play and grind away to your hearts content. Either that or you can look up a few videos on youtube of methods you've tried to see how others do them to give you a hint on how to get the best/fastest xp possible. I know this hasn't been super informative but I hope that it's at least beneficial in some way.

Returning - General Questions
In all honesty Polar has really solid advice in terms of how I personally love playing. Quests are my favorite, and so are the biggest parts of it, i.e. a boss fight, or solving some problem. However, that may not be your favorite thing to do. If you don't enjoy something, remember that and avoid it. In all honesty just quest around, see what you found to be enjoyable and then go out and do it. It's a game so have fun and enjoy.

Dang, what level crafting are you going for? haha

bonus xp from the duke
Yeah, but Its added to the skill like a pendant. Meaning you have to train it until you use up all of the bonus xp. It's not like a lamp sadly.

Fire Cape Help
Just time it if you can. When you see them spawn wait for the next attack animation, once you see that hit the button on your ability bar, then run out, and if you can click one healer. Wait for the next attack and rinse repeat.

Feather Headresses and AHK
[/hide] Is there a way to set up the action bar so that it doesnt just drop the feathers and coifs that I'm unaware of? Ah, wasn't actually on and testing it out. Nevermind then on that idea. I'll try to make a script sometime this upcoming week that tells a little more in detail what I know about how to script and randomizing coordinates. Hopefully it's not too awful and bulky. I'll try to make it as readable for non-programmers like me as possible, but yet give some pointers about how to make really simple scripts that are very effective. @Stev, why did you just use the ctrlEsc to reset the variable? Why not use reload so that the script is brand new again? Does it really make a difference? I'm just curious because I like writing scripts but I'm not the best at it.

mouseless money maker
I guess as old school as it sounds you can always try to find items that are profitable whilst alching, or some other form of using magic near a bank. Other things I can think of would be things like farming herbs, doing other dailies etc.

Feather Headresses and AHK
What I posted before wasn't actually a script I made, rather someone else's. I just posted it as something of an idea if you knew much about AHK (sorry for not making that clearer). Stev is much more advanced in programming than me and I'm really nubish at creating working ahk scripts but nonetheless I this script shouldn't be too hard to for me to tinker with and find a decent solution. Also, Yes, I realize I posted a 'macro' but as Stev pointed out its nothing really more than what has already been created by Jagex inside the game... Not much of an edge honestly... And in all honesty if you really wanted to do this as easily as possible you could just use the actionbar... set the feathers to one key, then the next has the coif. hit the key for the feather, then doubleclick (with the option checked to have all clicks default to the same thing) with your chat minimized and you could probably do it just as fast as any sort of script...

Feather Headresses and AHK
[hide=ahk script] Action := 0 Jump := 0 RCtrl:: Gosub , Clean return Esc:: Action := 0 Jump := 0 return Clean: If (Action = 0) { Click Left Action++ } Else If (Action = 1) { Mousemove , 0 , 36 , 0 , R Action++ } Else If (Action = 2) { Click Left Action++ } Else If (Action = 3) { Mousemove , 0 , 36 , 0 , R Action++ } Else If (Action = 4) { Click Left Action++ } Else If (Action = 5) { Mousemove , 0 , 36 , 0 , R Action++ } Else If (Action = 6) { Click Left Action++ } Else If (Action = 7) { Mousemove , 0 , 36 , 0 , R Action++ } Else If (Action = 8) { Click Left Action++ } Else If (Action = 9) { Mousemove , 0 , 36 , 0 , R Action++ } Else If (Action = 10) { Click Left Action++ } Else If (Action = 11) { Mousemove , 0 , 36 , 0 , R Action++ } Else If (Action = 12) { Click Left Action++ } Else If (Action >= 13) { Gosub , Jump1 Action:= 0 } return Jump1: If (Jump <= 2) { Mousemove , 40 , -216 , 0 , R Jump++ } Else If (Jump >= 3) { Mousemove , 40 , -216 , 0 , R Action := 0 Jump := 0 } return To use this you just put your mouse over the first inventory slot and rapidly press the right control/hold it down. Pressing esc will reload the script.[/hide] The original intent of this script was to clean herbs, which is now obsolete. What it does is it moves and clicks each of your inventory spaces and then jumps to the next row. It's actually really good and easily tweakable if you understand AHK even a little bit. I'd use this as a skeleton for things that are click intensive in your inventory. Take a look over this for an idea of what you can do just pressing one button and assigning it to do different things. Or you could do as Mere suggested and store it in an array, but personally I think this way is easier to script as it makes sense to me. Just something to look into if you're really wanting to do this, and be aware to keep it 1:1 as I'm sure you already know. :P

Fire Cape Help
So pretty much this is where you want to sit when a wave starts. Once you have a new wave coming go to the place I'm standing and you are safe just so long as none of the monsters spawn in the south part. Once you're ready and have all the enemies for that wave as close to you as possible just take a step south from where my character is and start using abilities. The spot that I have a dot over is where you want to stand when you get to the Jad wave. Read up on some guides as they explain pretty thoroughly why to stand here but pretty much its because Jad can only spawn one place where you might get surprised at. If you ever get into big trouble and are about to die just trap all the monsters behind a bigger one that takes up more than one square and run to this area and you should be okay to heal up and regroup your nerves to try again. Also sorry for chat and set up, I was just running to do this and show a decent setup as well as the most commonly used safespot.

Fire Cape Help
Go to the west side of the map and stand in the spot that you will use when Jad spawns, plenty of time to heal using abilities then because nothing can attack you unless it spawns directly to the south. Also, get better gear, it's really not that hard of a battle just long, if you have to take breaks in between levels and stay concentrated. It's easier than you think, just organize who to kill when.

Future Update Discussions
This new quest really has me pumped. Like really happy. First quest in forever! It's not hugely into the new 6th age stuff, but it looks and sounds like it has decent rewards including ones that I can actually use! overall 10/10 let's just hope it lives up to that standard

22-Jul-2013 - RuneScape 3!
I was going to say, I found it hard to believe that any one ddos was enough to really bring down the whole server all by itself... Unless it was really strong and specifically targeted well, which I don't see why someone would do that for RS....
