"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Yeah that's what I'm going to do. I got mixed feedback from people I know and don't know in person so I'm not sure about the bio. I was told it was too long, others loved it, so aah. I'm going to try Tinder with a condensed bio and see how that goes, with the longer bio on OkCupid. Going to use new pictures for both.
Constantly doing new things, going new places, and meeting new people. Big on self improvement and mindfulness. Takes care of myself so others don't have to. Ambitious, motivated, and disciplined. Looking for an equal to help take over the world or grab a coffee. Whichever fits your schedule. :) Working on a degree in Computer Science. Have a good job in software development so I can pay for such luxuries such as both Netflix and Hulu.
Looking for an equal to help take over the world or a grab a drink. Whichever fits your schedule :). I know a few good places. Working on a BS in CS. Have a good job so I can pay for both Hulu and Netflix. it's kind of generic again but Tinder is more looks centric so idk so far for the first picture:

You can't do that on OkCupid anymore. I wonder why...

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I've been doing some research and I don't have much high-quality evidence but it looks like putting bisexual on my profile is hurting my chances. I only came out recently and haven't been in any relationships (only on the occasional date) so it's not like I've had much time to deal with it, but it looks like bisexuals (and especially bisexual men) face a lot of discrimination re: relationships. So I'm thinking of either creating a straight OkCupid profile and/or a gay one (creating two profiles kind of breaks OkCupid's TOS AFAIK) and seeing how that changes things. Also apparently some (a lot?) of women are averse to guys having sucked dick (hypocrites lol), for example. I've actually experienced this one personally (from talking to someone else about their relationships...). I'll need to get like 3-4 more pictures though ugh. @obfuscator: it was a joke :P. Since both straight women and gay/bi men "perform oral sex" (so medical), it's hypocritical for one to disapprove of the other doing it. Obviously that's not 100% accurate but if every joke had to be 100% accurate you kind of limit yourself lol.

I don't have that much experience but your profile will get dinged as far as visibility goes since you won't be getting matches so I'd hold off. If you're gay you can use a picture of a tree and still get hook-ups via Grindr tho. Lol. (Someone with a profile pic of the sky wanted to pay me for discreet hook ups, but I ain't no garden tool). I've gotten two likes since I updated my profile but they were from ... less than attractive women. But it's an improvement.

Staples charges like $0.02/page B/W I think. Or it may be $0.05/page? It's cheaper than printing it yourself unless you buy a tank printer or something like a Brother inkvestment printer, but those start at $150. They include enough ink to print 2000+ pages in the box, though and the ink is cheap as chips ($20 for a black cartridge that can print anywhere from 2000-6000 pages). You can bring a thumbdrive with the document on it, or email and show the copy & print associate the receipt. It's ezpz. ... re: pronouns, asking someone to use gender-neutral pronouns isn't anything like asking someone to use made-up pronouns, so I was pointing out the slippery slope. I've never encountered a non-cis person who wants custom pronouns; typically they either want the gender they identify as or gender-neutral. I guess those 'snowflakes' as conservatives call them exist but I've dated and met /a lot/ of non-cis in the past few months (thanks Jacks Tap, etc) and never met one. As a decent human being I'd still use custom pronouns because I'm not a dick but what do you know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... Also there's a low (high?) chance that because I got paid 5 times in August my SSDI is gonna go kaput. Since I'm in the trial work period I'm not /too/ worried--for 36 months after I lose SSDI, if I make less than ~$1,200 in a month I'll still receive an SSDI payment. Which gives me 3 years to figure out something lol. Also, even after my benefits end, I can continue keeping Medicare... so that's a relief. Assuming they don't come up with an excuse and say I'm no longer qualified prior for reasons other than that idk.

So I mentioned I'd /prefer/ to by they/them/their pronouns but don't really /care/ (I find it cute when people call me ma'am on the phone, for example, it makes me happy for some reason) and this dude says... Lol, it's like the "homosexual marriage will lead to peeps marrying animals and children and objects!" argument. It's a game programming forum who only has pretty much incels and misogynists and [wagon]s as active posters. I visit it every once and a while to check if a new version of Allegro was released and see what games people are making. I like this forum so much better.

XP pop ups let you know the NPC is more efficient than you... Because the NPC never eats or rests. The NPC never stops. Skeleton Miner Joe there wielding an iron pickaxe, which the player won't have access to until after the tutorial. Lol so unfair. You can attack him, too, but he'll kick your ass. I've broken the world up into chunks. For example, Isabelle Island (aka Tutorial Island) is tier 1 so bronze, etc; Rumbridge (aka Lumbridge) is tier 10, so iron, etc; and so on. After I finish Isabelle Island I'm going to implement the DLC system so I can start working on content in private. I don't want the whole game to be open source--just the core components & Isabelle Island.

Thank you! I took that left out the non-binary stuff and added details: But now I think I'm back at square 1 lol.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
lol then I'm doomed to fail because I really have no idea how to describe myself Look I've done more in the past six months than most anyone has done in five years to improve myself, I'm most likely one of the smartest people in a room, I'm probably the one of the most genuine nice people (no not /r/niceguys nice) you'd meet in real life, I'm a hardcore socialist and ultraleftist that makes Noam Chomsky look like a fox news host, I have an eclectic set of hobbies that encapsulate both feminine and masculine gender roles and I can switch between male/female gender roles easily, I'm super competitive to the point it can negatively affect my life (but it forces me to excel). but I can't just put that, nor do I know how to word that in a way that doesn't sound 'generic' and 'boring'. I'm literally amazing at everything I do but dating just escapes me and it infuriates me so much.

I used to track my numbers but I haven't recently. I really have no idea how to not make it sound non-generic. The video you linked to didn't help, he sounded like... someone describing Dragonball Z, I really didn't get the passion outside his voice. So I'm at a loss there. I honestly thought my stuff sounded decent. It also confuses me because most guys bios (admittedly they're not straight but I don't think sexuality has an effect on bio quality?) sare literally "I like x, y, z." with a maybe "looking for x." Mine actually tells a story and makes some attempts at humor? IDK. The question/answer intro is a great idea and I'll work on that. Is it ok if I steal that lol. I'm thinking I'll leave political views off and filter that in person.

Guess I am an idiot then. I can tell you that not many PhDs would be decorated enough to have anything more than 2 pages at best unless you literally write "I have excellent abilities in mark-up languages and can produce elegantly designed manuscripts and presentations" instead of "Proficiency in Markdown/LaTeX". This is including a presentations and publications section and other responibilities such as invited reviews and membership to societies. Source: Am PhD student. But if you seriously cannot consolidate your skills and expertise into a 1-2 pages even after a PhD you are seriously doing something wrong in my honest opinion. Anything more than that would be for things such as publications and presentations which you should only really select a few of them. If you are a decorated PhD holder, with 8-10 years of Post-Doctoral Research under your belt, then a long CV IS needed since you also have to detail down sponsors and who has funded your research alongside titles of such things. There's no way I have enough for more than 2 pages even if I did everything I wanted between now and graduation. I was thinking I'd hit like 1.5 pages, maybe 1.75, if I don't cut anything. Essentially ideally it would be: contact info / portfolio / etc (5 lines) languages, APIs, frameworks, tools with more than 1 year experience (4 lines) work experience (10-12 lines) - ItsyRealm - internship at Epic or whatever - work at IM - freelance work education (2-4 lines) - BS in CS - AS in computer programming extracurriculars (4-6 lines) - game dev club - tutoring - contract work / etc completed projects of note (optional, 2-4 lines) - BMASHINA - DISCWORLD - ARDEN - open source contribs

I do, too :'(. @muggi: here's what I have so far does it still sound generic and boring? is this a step in the right direction? news years resolution is a stretch but tbh I literally just said I'm sick of this shit one day and decided to change and here I am but that's not fun I kind of want to mention something about social/political stuff without being too obvious/explicit... but I can't think of anything. I had a few ideas along the lines of "We should make CNN sound like Fox News" but idk. In essence if we can't (mostly) agree on this like feminism, LGBT+ issues, politics, etc it's going to be hard to get along.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
any dates lately the people I match with tend to be uninterested (then why match with me lol) or boring or become disinterested because they can't manage to schedule a date (sry u suck at scheduling) so while I have matched with several peeps in the past few weeks none have led to dates. re: bio @ RpgGamer, OkCupid is supposed to be bit more detailed than Tinder AFAIK but you have some good suggestions, thanks.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
That's what I'm hoping but it's still depressing. It bothers me a lot but I mean it's not tragically bad, I'm still pretty happy. I just can't help but shake feeling alone, though I doubt a relationship would honestly change that. Also I think maybe because I'm almost alway good at whatever I'm determined to do it's upsetting that I suck at dating lol. Maybe OkCupid insisting on putting "Bisexual" front-and-center isn't doing me any good either. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If anyone wants to give some feedback, here's here's my OkCupid bio. Maybe it screams 'nerd', idk. [hide] Self-summary: One day, I vowed I'd do something new and fantastic every month. Since then, I began working towards my degree, went on every rollercoaster at Carrowinds in a single day, gone to a big developer conference in Raleigh, eaten at Chipotle, and so much more. (Ok, maybe the last one isn't that fantastic, but it was definitely new!) And while I'm an optimistic, I'm also a realist, which means I'm usually happy even when things don't turn out as well as I hoped. (Like when the spicy salsa wasn't as spicy as I'd wanted...) What I'm doing with my life: I'm currently working towards an Associates, then a Bachelor's, in Computer Programming/Computer Science. After I finish a couple years, I'm going to make an an AI to take over the world. Failing that, I'll settle for working on banking or insurance software, which is still pretty evil, right? On weekdays I develop software, on weekends I sell tech and tech accessories, and in between I do freelance work to fund my lavish lifestyle, including such excess as eating out a few times a month, paying for both Hulu and Netflix, and saving for the future. My Golden Rule Be nice to everyone, even if they're being rude to you. In the words of the Doctor, "They can shoot me dead, but the moral high ground is mine." Favorite Things Judging by the CD case in my car, my favorite bands are Muse, Oasis, Imagine Dragons, Florence + The Machine, Swans, Laibach, and Detroit Social Club. And then there's the 20 gigabytes of music on my computer... As for as books, that would be the Discworld series (Night Watch and Monstrous Regiment are personal favorites), Harry Potter series (I'd be a Gryffindor!), A Song of Ice And Fire (...which will never be finished), and /a lot/ of classic literature. Shows include old a lot of 2000s cartoons like Avatar and Invader Zim (will you be my Tak?) and some other stuff: Frasier, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Friends, and Doctor Who, among others. If I had to literally choose a favorite, it would be a tie between Stranger Things and Mr. Robot. [/hide] The pictures are all but two of the ones I've shown here before. I can post them all later if someone wants. I've given up on Tinder so that's irrelevant. ... Again to clarify I'm doing great, the dating thing is a just a small bummer in my otherwise happy life.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
So I was talking with an interesting and cute guy on Grindr and have been trying to set up a date. Gotcha: he currently doesn't have a job and wants to split the bill so is waiting for student aid in September. From personal experience, if I fail to set up a date within the week it never goes anywhere. So I'm just going to leave it alone. Oh well. I'm having literally no luck with online dating. I really don't know what's wrong with me. What makes me so unattractive? It's obviously something I'm doing wrong... It doesn't help my voice is a stereotypical gay dude's voice.

Question... I'm pretty sure at the rate I'm going my resume after school will either have to be like 8 pt font or 1.5 pages event if I just include relevant info, lol. Currently it's just at 1 page if I exclude my Staples job and only include school/extracurriculars/work relevant to programming, plus only skim over my experience with APIs/frameworks/tools/languages. Because when I graduate I'll have an Associate's and Bachelor's, plus extracurriculars from school like tutoring / website dev, at least one internship + two relevant jobs (freelance work & new job) assuming I literally do nothing else new (no new internships, no relevant extracurriculars, no new job(s)) while in school. But I'm hoping to intern at Epic when I start on my Bachelor's; starting the game dev club at FTCC and/or making one at FSU; and some other stuff... And who knows what else. This doesn't include any personal work like BMASHINA, DISCWORLD, or ARDEN which are complete and usable projects /today/ (behavior tree AI framework for C++ and Lua, game relation DB and GOAP, and real-time OpenGL tracing/debugging/analysis library) or things like ItsyRealm (when I finish it in a couple years). I suppose I'd just leave them on my portfolio (except ItsyRealm, because that'll be too big to just leave on a portfolio, and I may monetize it). ... so my question is: what do. Because I'm going to run into this problem after I graduate FTCC and try and get internships, let alone when I graduate FSU and try and get jobs. also should I understate my experience with programming languages and such? Because it'll be odd to be a college grad with over 8 years C, C++, and C# experience. That may look like I'm lying or overstating my experience I think (even if it's true).

Wig shopping didn't go as planned, oh well! I'll finish the FSE website tonight so that's good! Just have some admin stuff left pending the school after. Wee, ~30 hours so far. A security audit / QA + final changes should push that right up to ~40 hours. I'm good at estimates. :shades: Half is going towards my car, the rest to savings. That plus my student grants means we'll have ~1.5 months of expenses in savings by the end of the September. And the car should be paid off by April as planned!

Wow work sucked last night. Not only was I running on 4 hours of sleep, a few energy drinks, and single slice of pizza, we got slammed hard. We closed at 10:00 pm but didn't get out of there until 11:00 pm because of go-backs, blocking, and cleaning. A coworker had to drive me home because I was so tired. I fell asleep in less than 5 minutes... ... And today I'm going shopping for a wig. 8) I'm so excited!

Yeah I have a crush on a girl at Staples but 1) she's a coworker and 2) she has a boyfriend so 1) I'm not doing anything and 2) I'm /really/ not doing anything. Haha. Seriously it's a bad idea.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
So since it was like a month since I had sex I was like time to try Grindr again! I was in Raleigh recently and lurked on it, set up a hook up and ... had a good time. The sex was great, then we hung out for a bit afterwards. Then I had another yesterday. Sex was great, again. ... I'm terrible. I still don't like hook ups but I have a very high libido (ty mental illness, probs) so what am I to do.
