  1. Sounds like a story-based quest, could be very fun. Talking about level 30 as mid-level is just plain stupid though. Even 60s are for the most part not mid-level (maybe agility).
  2. I hear Dharok's has very high hits because the lp boost translates into more str boost. Not sure though.
  3. Splitting means more woodcutting xp, which is worth more than magic xp. If you *really* need mage xp (past 99 even) then alch, but mostly just split.
  4. Err in that case you're pretty much stuch with rcbow or whip+defender, neither is very good, pick what you like really.
  5. Ovl. Maul > ccbow I think. Especially since you get a lot more defence all-round.
  6. I think it'd be a great idea to switch monsters from having one weakness to having one strength. E.g. don't ever try using slash on waterfiends, don't ever try crush on chromatic dragons, don't ever use ice magic on isw, don't ever stab a...?
  7. F2P spanprod, even >.>. Thanks to a most generous donation by Jeremy (<3:) I can continue cooking tonight, after I finish the ~800 gold amulets for 94 crafting (don't laugh).
  8. F2P will get massive lp boosts and a bunch of special moves at least. Currently full rune is already over 5000 lp boost.

  11. Nukes won't detonate from being within the range of another nuke, unless they are right at the very centre where the fission/fusion is taking place.
  12. If you can reliably win, you get a little more xp/hr from points, and you don't have to train combat inside if you don't want to, though you have to keep up activity (bury bones or die :P).
  13. Frenzy has that sort of ko potential if your opponent is willing to stand in it. Good :D. Might get slightly stale by now, but I still think rushing is a natural part of combat.
  14. The xp gain in Pest Control games got halved ages ago, idk if you are aware of that. You can train magic and ranged without hp xp gain already, don't need PC for that. Soul Wars is a pretty decent way to get strength xp without hp xp gain.
  15. There's also the issue of how hard it is to do well at a certain boss. Killing a tormented demon or dagannoth king isn't very hard in itself, unlike killing Nex, but maintaining an efficient killrate is much harder than it is on the KQ/GWD bosses, which are essentially brewfests with a long wait in between. Definitely rank the KQ over GWD though.

  17. I'm glad you can get 100% adrenaline out of combat, that way you can still do a sort of charge/rush attack. I don't think any ultimate is powerful enough to kill someone from full lp anyway, so that's not unbalanced even.
  18. Best gear is rune set, fighter torso, rune defender, rune scimitar. I recommend getting 60 or even 80 attack & defence before working on strength (if you are p2p). Pest control is not the best method, at your stats you're probably looking at some kind of zombie (with the Haunted Mine quest complete).
  19. I don't. And I happen to be very good at arithmatic/numbers/stuff (not like I'd be scared of the numbers or anything :P), but I like the discreteness of small numbers. It's not more precise to add decimals, you hit what you hit according to the game rules. It's a system with more finesse, maybe, but the crudeness of low max hits is attractive (imo). Either way, I think 10 lp/con level is the right balance. If they changed it to 2/level and slashed the armour boosts by 90% that'd be cool (roughly 1:4 ratio of base lp:armour lp).
  20. Yes I did. It's pretty much all there is to do after you're out of cash for wines/gems. Every time I return to RS after a long absence (this is the second time only, so screw statistics ok?) my tolerance for grinding increases twofold. No joke. Also 97 cooking. Yay lobsters.
  21. Power creep (to a point) is functional and a natural consequence of the fact that most of the RS skills weren't totally finished on release. Most still aren't, as weapons and armour have no 90+ requirements yet, for example. So there's quite a bit more to come. Harmful power creep would only come when there would be increasing tiers of level 99 gear, imo. Until the skills are filled out, new, more powerful weapons and bosses are expected and required. That said, a lot of older content could do with either a high-end version or an overhaul. Personally I'd like to see a variant of the KBD, Dagannoth Kings, GWD bosses etc. with prayers. The KBD praying smite and maybe the 15% prayers, Dagannoth Kings each praying the piety equivalent for their attack style, GWD bosses using protect prayers (minions using smite), tormented demons using curses and soul split flashing, the corporeal beast using a full leech with soul split... there's all sorts of opportunities for high-level content simply adding a tiny mechanic to existing bosses.

  23. Imo they should: Remove penalties on hybriding, because hybriding is the funnest, most interesting way of dealing with a combat triangle. Increase the damage of base attacks to be about 60% of your overall dps (consider that special attacks make up maybe 2-3% of your dps, that's still a massive change). Reduce the lp boost from armour to about 4000 max, so your hp makes up about 20% of your total lp pool. Reduce the weaknesses and make them less one-sided and ridiculous. For example, black dragons are weak to arrows. But they should also be weak to stab and the equivalent magic (and bolts too probably, since they aren't different from arrows). Edit: possibly re-introduce alternative attack styles (one per weapon). However this would be a problem for ranged weapons, as they typically fire only one kind of ammo (the distinction between arrows/bolts is pretty stupid).
  24. Godswords are, as far as I know, not overpowered or all that great in the beta. They are extremely weak in the current game, apart from their special attacks. And yes.
  25. Well yeah. Wallasalkis and black demons. Range + cannon. Good xp, costs a bit though.
