I don't think the troops Lumbridge could gather, guardsmen or allies, could stand against whoever wins the battle between the gods. I voted for 'do nothing' both times - in my opinion, Lumbridge should either evacuate or be a neutral sanctuary entirely devoted to healing.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
I suppose it might be relevant to mention this here, considering the discussion about power/tank armour and one-handed weapons: a little spreadsheet here that allows you to figure out a balance for a 2h > shield > dw > 2h triangle system. And yes, I was being sarcastic about t85 'tank' weapons, referring to the great success of chaotic longswords. Sure, cls had some pvp uses and some record-attempting Bandos soloes, but maul was universally higher dps and ever since Torva you could just ss flash Graar with maul, making cls worse for staying power/convenience as well.

:D. Officially on hiatus (from RS) now. Sadly this seems to happen a lot atm, looking at Collam Daan - probably half or more of the clan is on hiatus or retired. Hmmm. Anyway just as the previous hiatus I'm still here, I'll probably do the new quests and such (can't be worse than LOTRO quests - I mean srs, collect 8 lynx furs?).

Halberds are just spears with a blade and hook on the side: http://www.ifagiolini.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Halberd.jpg. Even better for armoured targets because the hook can catch and unhorse them. Pikes are basically long spears. And that's weird, about combat spells and Entangle. Do abilities use weapon range or a default range like Dragon Breath?

What should my next chaotic be?
If you like the recoloured sol look, keep it, the staff is worth almost nothing :P. When selecting weapons, only the level matters. Everything else is secondary.

As if hitting someone's shins won't bring them down :D. But I do agree, pikes are awesome in teams versus really big things, and crossbows (arbalests) if it's armoured. @Gwyn: Okay, I haven't used much ranged lately (only ccbow/rxb anyway, in small rooms). Magic is all the same right?

When to do Tears of Guthix
Talk to Juna, she'll explain. Essentially, when you hit 80 crafting & mining you can repeat the bowl-making in the quest, getting a bigger bowl. You'll get 5/3 of the xp you gained with the small bowl using the large bowl.

I'd go for another oxhead. I think we'll get something like t85 tank weapons, weapons with t80 damage and t90 accuracy - super useful! But really, I think it won't be weapons and it will be like ports armour: okay, good even if tanking at Vorago, but worse than equal-tier power armour (virtually) everywhere.

Shields are definitely the best, it'd be nice to see more uses for them at bosses :/. I would like more reach weapons as well (halberds, longbows, longstaves? with a little extra range, could have some unique abilities) to bring movement back into combat a bit more. I think all ranged weapons are the same range atm? About RS, really really bored with it atm, lack of good updates and such. I've been playing LOTRO a bit (f2p) and its design is really no better than RS, but at least it's something new to explore.

Primal Hunting... Something Seriously F'd
Iirc it mainly depends on the level of the boss, which again depends mostly on the difficulty of the floor: 5:5, c6, large, based on max combat. However large tends to be too slow to get many chances at the boss, so 5:5 small is preferred.

Well you can very easily give each weapon a small % bonus to a given stat/ability, e.g. when using hammers/mauls/maces your stuns last 50% longer, when using daggers/shortswords/spears your DoTs do 10-20% more damage, when using scimitars/longswords/2h swords you get +2% crit chance or w/e, when using claws ultimate abilities only take two ticks...

Wat. @Gwyn: o.o. I think power armour stacks like pre-EoC strength bonus (better when you have lower base strength) and I don't know about void at all - could be equal to power armour of your weapon's tier, if it's 10% of fastest damage, which makes Pernix and Armadyl better for chinning (but not the Fremmenik armours). So basically what Chen said.

Combat Academy
I don't think there is anything for it but to find all the options, buttons and abilities you need beforehand. Try using the wiki guide http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Combat_Academy to figure out what you need to do.

Not true, not true and that would be useless anyway. First, let's establish that things that you use more often, or things that you use when switching more often should be tied to the more accessible hotkeys. They should be hideable, that's the point of a customizable interface, but also easy to bring back. So your inventory, abilities, prayers, buffs/debuffs (now a separate thing, ok), maybe also worn equipment - these are important in combat, which is where you need rapid switching. The F keys are: 1) Hero tab: Summary*, Skills*, Pets, Achievements*. 2) Gear tab: Loadout, Wardrobe, Titles, Animations, Appearance 3) Adventures tab: Featured*, Quests*, Challenges*, Minigames*, Battle of Lumbridge* 4) Powers tab: Melee, Ranged, Magic, Defensive, Prayers 5) Social tab: Hiscores*, Activity Stream (not yet implemented), Chat Settings 6) RWT* 7) Welcome* Tabs that are useless for actually playing the game: All of the above. Tabs that are actually useful for playing the game: Regular tabs as accessed by the 8-button options bar. Tabs that don't have settings (except the settings for that particular tab, as with achievements) are marked with a *. Basically, the new tabs do nothing that wasn't already present - they combine old tabs, usually in ways you don't need. It's basically the first thing people complained about and it hasn't been fixed yet. Jagex is - again - being incredibly slow with basic, much-requested fixes. Err, no? 'Form fits function' refers to the idea that something is designed, or optimized, to do something. Since these big bulky interfaces don't make it easier to change settings, 'form fits function' has been thrown out of the window here - or the 'function' is actually annoying people or looking bulky. OK.

Well call me crazy but I think elements 'not intended for use' shouldn't be bound to your primary hotkeys. And there's no reason for them to be so bulky either. There's a whole 2cm bar on top of them that's completely useless.

The new big f-key interfaces are so bulky and most of them aren't even useful.

Zammy war-priest gaunts get, going for boots, title and emote now I guess - 500ish pts/day should do it. Since you have 3 weeks during the last stage to get up to t3 rewards & buy them all (in one faction, assuming you have pts stores to buy all the stuff from the other faction instantly) you'll probably need a bit more, but 3k/day is 61k total, which should cover getting both armour sets at least (and hopefully also the emotes and stuff).

@Binary mage: 21% is not the majority, it's the largest group. A majority would require more than 50% of the votes to be Guthix. It would be going a bit far to say that 21% is 'pretty much the whole player base'. Besides, that was before people knew about Guthix not wanting to be worshipped. I'm sure that the Godless faction has more ex-Guthixians than the other factions.

22-Jul-2013 - RuneScape 3!
I don't think the player base was Guthixian at all - a lot of people picked Guthix (when offered the S-Z-G choice) only because he's everyone's #2 choice, being neutral and such. Up until the lore about the artefacts, we didn't really know anything about Saradomin and Zamorak (or any gods) either, with all the lore up to then being part inconsistent, part from unreliable sources and part retconned with TWW.

Future Update Discussions
#5 is good. Not quite purple, not quite blue. Don't like the lower numbers much at all.
