Lolz - No More Fisho
For the skeleton scroll, I'd say barrage (equilibrium if possible) or chin or use ccbows/wand+orb + equilibrium (instead of Momentum, to provide a min hit) and ricochet/chain as much as possible. QBD was really easy with tetsu + drygores last I tried, which is a while ago. The key is to ignore all the specials and go for all-out dps.

Crow's Goals and Accomplishments
Good luck :). I'd recommend summoning, but sadly that won't be useful until the rework, so I'll recommend dungeoneering instead :).

Alternative? Yes. Worthy? Not really. The xp/h for plain smelting is slow enough, but making jewellery is *really* bad.

Yeah, unless you find that you're getting to Jad easily then dying on switching. That happens quite a bit.

This isn't repeatable. Well neither are certain other reqs, for example the Temple Trekking, Livid Farm and Dominion Tower requirements. They are just things that you have done or not, and that become part of the requirements for task sets later on. They are sort of 'token repeatable', like the Castle Wars requirement for trim comp: instead of 'have X requirement done' it's 'do Y trivial action which is completely and utterly useless, while having X requirement done'. (in this case just talking to Skaldrun would be enough)

I'm going to be changing the calculator to have min & max soak values as well :D. Basically, the system has some symmetries: 1) Attack roll versus defence roll. 2) Damage roll versus soak roll. 3) Melee > Ranged > Magic > Melee and 2H > Shield > DW > 2H. Also slash/stab/crush but those aren't a triangle. Idk for sure yet how big the soak value difference should be, but ok. In the end the only way to simulate it properly is to just take a 10000 fights sample, also takes into account overkill at least.

Atm, sara brews heal me more than rocktails, as i only have 76hp, why did u recommend that? Because you'll lose a lot of power if you use brews (and brews cost a lot more), but brews may be the best anyway. I don't know how much super brews cost at the moment (too much probably), but those would heal 4800 lp per slot. Annoyingly there are no useful foods in the whole 71-79 range, only at 80 you get sharks and a ton of other foods, such as baron sharks (2100 lp/bite).

Long time lurker returning to RS - what to do?
The tier 90 armour degrades to nothing, so it's not really worth getting except for solo Nex with seismic wand + orb. I'd get started on Ports and quests, and then see if you can get the hang of combat at some of the easier bosses, say glacors and GWD. Nex isn't very hard either if you have a big team (5+).

I don't think elite diaries are allowed to unlock anything that you don't get as immediate reward. A second ammo bind would be good for dg, and it'd also take care of the full task set ammo slot.

Tasks for Mage Slaying
I believe all Momentum barraging is now useless in slayer. You can mage everything with cstaff or virtus/seismic wand + book (if you have 2b to invest in weapons). It won't be slower than meleeing or ranging everything. Just avoid things like Ascension order members etc.. There aren't any tasks that become really good once you start maging them or anything.

Looks good, but you should probably use rocktails and super magic potions instead of brews. The armour will definitely serve you well.

RuneScape EoC Slayer Guides!
Armadyl boots & gloves are better than glaiven/barrows. I don't know about rocktails, but those seem overkill as well.

Smithing/Crafting Training
Smelting gold is cheap, (smelting +) superheating gold is faster and more expensive (and you don't seem to need magic xp), superheating while mining is best, but you're not 80 mining. Other than that, there's nothing cheap, you can check Grimy's spreadsheets for smithing though. For crafting, go battlestaves. Water or air, air is faster and costs a bit more, water sometimes even profits (due to waterfiend orb drops & high alch value of staves).

Fire Cape Help
If you can stretch your budget a little, Ahrim's + staff of light is about 2.5m. If Ahrim's is not an option, you can use grifolic armour, but that's quite a bit worse. You should probably get the staff of light anyway, as it's under 300k for a level 75 weapon. Use it with abilities and your highest level ancient spell. Inventory-wise: super magic potions & prayer renewals (2 each), prayer potions/super restores (about 8), runes and rocktails (16).

I believe you ^^. Spreadsheet here, now has a better formula for calculating dpt. Instead of using an if-statement and separate formulas for reduction > min hit and reduction < min hit it now uses one general formula (which still has some min(a,b) statements but okay). So if anyone wants to error check: dpt = (max hit - max(min hit, reduction)) * (max hit + min hit - reduction - min(min hit, reduction)) / (2 * speed * (max hit - min hit)) Also: 2H > DW cutoff a = max hit 1 b = min hit 1 c = speed 1 x = max hit 2 y = min hit 2 z = speed 2 n = reduction a > b a > n x > y x > n (a - max(b, n)) * (a + b - n - min(b, n)) / (2 * c * (a - b)) == (x - max(y, n)) * (x + y - n - min(min hit, n)) / (2 * z * (x - y) for b > n and x > n you get (a + b - 2n) / c == (x + y - 2n) / z (z(a + b) - c(x + y)) / (z - c) == 2n Since this only holds for a > n and x > n it's pretty useless because the cutoff tends to be higher than the min hits. Still working on the other solutions, funtimes. Edit: Actually, let's just WolframAlpha this. As it turns out, all the other solutions are really annoying. Which means I'll just assume fixed speed. More edits: OK screw this :D. Solutions are horrible. Incidentally, WolframAlpha is still crazy informative. Barack Obama weighs 80 kg apparently.

That's interesting, min hits seem to be roughly 1/3 of max but set manually at a number near that (e.g. 40-125%, 60-185%, 38-120%???). Weird, weird stuff. Did six solo corp kills today, got 3 regen braces, 20 runite ore, 300 deaths, mystic robe bottom.

HTML5 beta discussion
Seems the NIS has an overzealous game session system, I wasn't even on it for an hour and it booted me off >.>. 1) You can't resize or remove HUD displays, which is why the Momentum thingy is still there (it aligns better in fullscreen). 2) You can't remove the chatbox, minimap or options buttons, which is why the emotes tab is open at the smallest size (it has all the tabs except general). 4) You can't use hotkeys to open the tabs to the bottom-right (inventory etc.). They all try to open new interfaces which flashes the little lock icon because it's not allowed to open tabs when locked. 5) You can't rebind functon keys - they open 'central interfaces' which are bulky and offer no useful information. These should be buried deep, they're only rarely needed and not ever when you're in danger. They are more the kind of thing that you screenshot once, to show off you maxed them. 6) The money pouch takes up a whole line by itself, that should be less. 7) The tabs above the inventory can't be aligned vertically, I think. 8) The world map won't go transparent. 9) Health, prayer, run energy etc. can't be separated from the action bar. 10) The chatbox can't be kept resizable while the rest remains locked, which is annoying because I like big chatboxes but only at Flingers. 11) The worn inventory is sorted like the regular inventory, so you can't assume the top left item will always be your cape anymore. Really annoying. 12) The target function appears to be gone? This interface is basically shit. No better than we have atm, because it lacks useful hotkeys and it is unneccesarily bulky, and critical parts are still not customizable.

It's directly subtracted from the damage you take. E.g. someone rolls 2500 on their damage roll, you have 400 soak, you take 2100 damage. But of course if they roll 300, your 400 soak won't heal you 100. You'll just take no damage.

Hi stroopwafel :D! You look serious... cookies are srs bsns. Adding a minimum hit option means you can differentiate between hitting 600-1200 (900 average) and 0-1800 (900 average). The first hits 0-600 versus 600 soak with an average of 300, the second hits 0-1200 versus 600 soak with an average of 400. Basically that is because the 600-1200 is always affected by the whole soak, while the 0-1800 sometimes isn't affected by some of the soak, that is, when you hit below the soak value, the extra soak is thrown out, e.g. not converted to healing. Also pretty sure the spreadsheet works now, going to need comments on it though, since I barely know what I'm doing anyway. Auto-optimization would be nice, I'm not even sure you can balance it to have ~1.2 dpt dealt:taken for, say, DW vs. 2H. Got a balance for ~10/9 dpt dealt:taken atm.

I've changed (well, am changing) the spreadsheet to calculate based on max/min hits rather than the same hit every time. The difference is that 300 reduction on a hit of 0-900 gives an average of 1/3*0+2/3*300, which is 200. A 300 reduction on a hit of 450 (0-900 averaged) gives you 150 average. Plus that you can now investigate possibilities like more consistent hits for two-handers.
