  1. Congratulations, have fun with dungeoneering :).
  2. Quyneax replied to J35u5_M4's topic in Help and Advice
You can definitely increase DoT max hits, but not by turmoiling, and the increase is minute (I've hit 247 and 252 with Dismember + Guthan's spear, the increase is due to Bandos boots/gloves I believe).
  3. Since you have Tetsu + drygores, you're not far off a Vorago team (get a yak & cks though).
  4. Why are you using ragefires but not subjugation boots or gloves? An arcane stream necklace would also be better, not to mention an Armadyl battlestaff which is quite cheap. You're also using Tsunami which as far as I know is a horrible ability - it's far better to use either Metamorphosis (with adrenaline potion, maybe ring of vigour) or Omnipower. You're also not using a cannon.
  5. I'd use them on runecrafting, since you have a lot to go and it's not fast. If you have no real need to use pendants, you can always save them for divination. Exception is esteem, if you really want rank 1, you'll need all the xp to 99 just to get enough points.
  6. Guessing that if you went for a properly full inventory it would be ~1k/day. Apparently you still get drops from things you cannon, so maybe that's a good way to kill goblins.
  7. Demon Slayer and Rune Mysteries got reworked, there's replacement quests for them now. Combat level is now different, the highest level possible is 200. It's 2 + your defence level + the highest out of attack, strength, magic, ranged and summoning. Lot of money is and has been for years enough to buy a party hat. Spinny thing is buyable cosmetics, xp and cash. Burthorpe is a new tutorial designed to draw people into the P2P game. The only thing to watch for in equipment is 1) Level and 2) Style (range, mage, melee).
  8. Defence (on a non-max combat player): Either "I don't know efficiency" or "I don't care about efficiency". Max cape (on 2496 total): Get a move on Livid :D.

Glacors are the best for blues (+ money, not melee xp), for melee xp & blues I don't know, but kalphites have had high blue rates since the release of summoning afaik. If you still have to do slayer, slay with attack, it's very inefficient to train melee before finishing slayer.
  10. My new strategy for goblins is: Go to goblin village without items (except bonecruncher). Kill goblins, use drops to kill better. Leave when inventory full of steel items. It appears the best weapon you can get is a steel battleaxe.
  11. Level 2000 ferret of doom 9001* So actual RS update: Killed about 800 gobbelies, got a lot of steel items. The goblin village bosses drop t20 melee (steel) and coifs (t20 ranged) but otherwise no t20 mage/range. Meleescape :(. Didn't get much else done, about 35 days to finish Flingers, 120k more span pts, 6 champs + 2 throned champs. Also Guthan's is awesome, and barrows in general. Ask Thai why ;).
  12. Ferret champion. Lure onto a rainbow tile using rainbow fish. Puzzle requires 29 cooked fish.
  13. Quyneax replied to khandajatt's topic in Help and Advice
You don't need to camp melee-weak monsters for melee xp :P. The Fight Cauldron is currently the fastest way to train attack, and it can be camped well.
  14. You can start by reading the Tip.It guides and Dungeonsweepers guides. The DGS guides are advanced reading, but very useful. What you really, really want to avoid is slowing the team down by not knowing how to solve puzzles or how to fight bosses - that's where the guides come in. Make sure your binds are the best you can get. For you that's a katagon 2h sword and platebody, or a shadow silk hood instead of the body. A lot of dungeoneers use shorthands to describe which keys, puzzles and doors they have found. For example: "gosh mono gate n" means "I have the gold shield door and a monolith room gated, which is the cluster of unopened doors north on your map". You can also give instructions and requests: "gtgd cgt n" means "teleport to the group gatestone to open this guardian door (kill the monsters), and carry the gatestone north-east (afterwards)". You see why it is easier to use the acronyms. Make sure you keep reading your map and remember which doors are where. Don't have five people opening a key door when there are other doors that need opening. It sounds really basic but it's important to keep looking for doors to open, not just following around the leader. In the end only opening doors leads to the boss. Don't give up when you die often, it'll go away as you get more experienced. Don't loot more than a couple of eels at the time. Be nice to teammates, leave food for them and share food. You don't want to start dungeoneering with everybody disliking you. Finally keep in mind that dungeoneering is the most complex thing in Runescape, so you don't have to figure it out all at once.
  15. KPH with tetsu/drygores is 20ish, maybe 25 for torva or seismic+virtus. I think mummies have just decided to hate you, I'd do something similar to Livid, kill 200/day until the scroll drops.
  16. 42 :o. If they add that many, it's going to be a bigger req than everything else together, except Castle Wars (10h per champion?).
  17. If you have a similar mechanic to hybrid armour, there's no chance of getting lucky and also no chance of getting super unlucky. Guess it's a matter of what you prefer. It'd make sense to run out of targets at some point, so maybe you should have a tiered system: 1-5000 kills: base drop rate of 1/5000 5000-10000 kills: drop rate increases to 1/1000 10000+ kills: drop rate steady at 1/1000 As of now, you have 13 scrolls, 2 throned champions, one after 10 scrolls, one after 13. So you'll end up at 25 scrolls (13 + 4*3) for the sixth champion. Ghost, troll, vampire and maybe shadow warrior seem like obvious choices, idk about killerwatts or similar, they are a lot less humanoid (unable to speak, for one). I like shadow warrior because it requires Legend's Quest :P.
  18. 2428/2476 Your goal is... max cape -1 level (given that you're 101 dg)? Gl with agility, grats on farm :).
  19. Also cyclops, minotaur, ice warrior, shadow warrior, ghostly warrior, fire warrior, reborn warrior, wraith, soulless, icefiend, pyrefiend, waterfiend, ghast, ghost, vampyre, vampire...
  20. Quyneax replied to Beeskers's topic in Help and Advice
Literally the only thing that matters for weapons (of the same style) is the tier it is at, which usually is the level required to use it. You have ten styles, the four magical elements, stab, slash, crush, bolt, arrow and thrown. Thrown is useless, arrow goes up to t80, the rest goes up to t90.
  21. These days, essentially since EoC and all the patchy updates since, and since comp cape, I mostly play to see how the game sucks/can be improved :P.
  22. Lol it'll be the first private server with lower xp rates than the live game (srs 300k melee xp/h? should be 150k >.>). And the system will be so complicated you'll need macros to write your macros while you macro macroing the macros. Or something :D.
  23. Quick idea for an equipment system: Multiple layers of protection, you can only switch a lower layer if the top layer is empty. Comfort score determines long-term fatigue regeneration and drain rate. Also relevant for skilling. Example: Layer 1 - closest to body - no attack penalties, low defence, high comfort bonus - padded cloth or supple leather, felt etc. Layer 2 - middle layer - low attack penalties, medium defence, small comfort penalty - light chainmail, hard leather, dragonhide etc. Layer 3 - closest to harm - high attack penalties, high defence, high comfort penalty - one-piece breastplates, heavy mail and scales, big forcefields etc. Note that comfort bonus maxes at zero, the equivalent to unencumbered, though you'll probably need some heavy magic to make good armour that light. Comfort is a bit like weight reduction, I think that could be folded into one thing. The whole -30kg thing is a bit freaky anyways because we'd be bouncing and flying as if we were on the Moon. Of course one item can fill two slots, for example a suit of full plate armour can fill the top two layers. When hybriding, you'll probably only be able to switch the top layer, but that's ok, because the bottom layers have barely any attack penalty anyway. I don't care about realism enough to entirely remove switching (though it's still pretty weird :P). The idea is that there is a trade-off between comfort, defence and attack. So you can wear full plate with a padding of fine cloth (splitbark ;)) and especially-farmed Zarosian cotton to be extremely tanky, but prone to fatigue and inaccurate with your attacks. Or you can stick with a chainshirt to carry less weight so you can go on longer and be more accurate. Note that fatigue = reverse adren (0% fatigue means you can use 100% worth of attacks, e.g. a couple of what are now tresholds, or one ult) so higher comfort score = less fatigue gain, more drain = more abilities used = more dps. Oh and comfort/fatigue could be added to skilling also, so that you'll be a little tired to fight after mining 1230904 gold ore, and not able to zerk instantly. But that's really far off :P.
  24. They also said they can't have capes in Daemonheim because the armor was designed with not having capes in mind and so would cause massive clipping. However that's total bogus now because we have keepsaked capes all over the place :P. And even before that people smuggled capes in and those worked fine. Anyway, if the diary is like an extra 'free' bind, that's cool, but don't let it be something that we have a useful variant of, e.g. weapons, body armour, hoods, blood necklaces etc.. It'd be stupid if the elite diary reward replaced or was replaced by a t11 item you were binding anyway.
  25. Well any tier 80+ weapon can generally kill stuff well enough, it's just for the highest levelled mooks that you want t90+ weapons. If you're talking about meleeing, it's still better, because melee is generally better than other styles anyway.
