  3. I've seen this happen before, and I even helped them make a little money. It's sad that they have no understanding of the rules.
  4. On the topic of beer in the butt chicken, it's actually a BBQ recipe where you place a chicken on top of a half a can of beer to keep the chicken moist whilst roasting. http://bbq.about.com/cs/chicken/a/aa100400a.htm Anywho, we ought to get back to posting pictures.
  5. The way I see it is that it's merely a tourist attraction to help boost demand in the Economy.
  6. I'd say the opportunity cost in terms of charms/h is too high if you were to train with a verac's flail at Waterfiends. Using highly unscientific estimates, I think you are only likely to get about 60-70 charms per hour using Verac's flail, compared to the 95-105 charms per hour using a Zamorakian spear. I'm unsure on the xp/h at Waterfiends, but I'd say with reasonable certainty that it's not worth sacrificing the time, so I think it would be a better idea for you to simply to use a Zamorakian spear at Waterfiends and do the real training at Armoured Zombies
  7. Smoking for me. Kissing someone who smokes a lot is nothing like kissing someone who doesn't, or rarely smokes.
  8. How did I manage to doublepost?
  9. Did you read the article? TLDR; Botting is causing deflation. Yes, I did. The posts went slightly astray, as I'm referring to the articles within the last 9-12 months. Here's a little topic for you: In RuneScape, which is worse: Inflation or Deflation? Neither are actually particularly damaging, except when they are rampant. As long as values inflate or deflate at a regular rate, then players are able to cope and plan for the flucuations; this massive crash is an example of hyper-deflation, and proved damaging to some peoples net value (my own included). On top of this, prices were thrown out of wack due to fears and speculation of where the prices would finally settle. Like all things, though, it has started calming down and Runescape is returning to business as usual. However, inflation or deflation is rarely uniform for all goods, thus it's quite detrimental to the economy if the inflation/deflation rate is high. Take the inflation in 2009 for example: Whips went from a steady 1.4m to above 4.5m, which is roughly a 200% increase, whilst the Armadyl Godsword went from 60m to 120m, a 100% increase. It could be argued that this isn't fair for those who slay Kree'ara, as this isn't the normal market forces that has caused the inflation. The problem with inflation would be that it's harder to stop than deflation. All JaGex needs to do to fix the current deflation would be create a monster which drops a somewhat significant amount of coins, or something that could be sold to the NPC for a significant amount of coins. Creating an additional effective money sink is difficult because it's hard to incentivise people to actually use the money sink, given the amount that exists already.

  11. persuasive and unbiased? Take out the unbiased. I'm not sure how to phrase it, but my point was to at least present a balanced argument that offers a look from the opposition's position. The audience I'm trying to reach don't have a formal background in the subject I'm looking to discuss. I feel like this thread is a good place to go more in depth for people that want to discuss certain nuances, that I couldn't write about without having everyone else read half a macroeconomics book. That's true I guess. I just get a little tired of all the 'Inflation is bad', 'Botting is bad' articles that doesn't seem to lead anywhere. I'll wait for a reply from the opposition before I debate here.

  15. Rapier with turm and ovls is about as efficent as cls if not more efficent Also may i suggest that you dont say Cls is best for bandos when you dont have access to that weapon Everyone I have ever talked to and everyone who has posted on the H&A section would say cls > rapier at bandos. leave troll. Whoa, I wasn't going to post in this thread but this post was urging me to press the reply button. So, are you saying that just because everyone says it's true, that it's indeed true? That's simply an appeal to authority/popularity, thus not a very strong argument. Cls may be slightly superior to Chaotic Rapier at Bandos (assuming a shield is worn, instead of defender), but that difference may not be sufficient to justify the time spent obtaining the Cls. The Cls has mainly niche uses (Bandos, Staking), thus it's usually a better idea to spend the 200,000 tokens on a Chaotic Rapier as a first weapon. As for good PvMing; It really depends on what you'd like to kill. What do you think you'd want to kill? For example, the gear for Nex is radically different to the gear for Bandos. For a monster like Nex, a Pernix item would be extremely useful, and so would a Divine Spirit Shield. I don't think 99 prayer is really necessary for good PvMing, as 95 is usually sufficient for most of the things you are likely to do. Enhanced Elite Excalibur (obtainable from completing the Seers' Village Diary (elite)) is also very useful as it offsets most of the damage dealt by the consumption of an Overload, saving food. The Fremmenik Elite Diary is also very useful too, as noted by the other posters above me.
  16. Hello. I can't tell if you're serious or not, but I'll help you anyway. RuneScape is a browser based game, which runs on Java and membership is paid directly to JaGex, the creators of RuneScape (with a credit/debit card, cash, phone line, phone credit). To start RuneScape, you go through www.runescape.com/title.ws, and you click 'Play Now'. Then you are linked to a webpage which should be www.runescape.com/game?j=1. You need to click on 'Create account now' to create an account. To create an account, you would need a valid email address. Once you've created an account, you could become a member for £3.5 a month (or whatever it's worth in your currency), or stay a free-to-play player until you decide to become a member. Tip.it (us) is a forum based on RuneScape, too. Hope this helps. And welcome to Tip.It
  17. I'm disliking the trend of Economic articles that has arisen in the recent months. It seems that they attempt to explain very basic Economic theory, but always lacks a strong conclusion. This week's article by sees_all basically said that RWT may affect us more than we'd like to think, which to me, is just a bit obvious. I think these articles really ought to focus on more lines of reasoning, instead of being an Economics lecture (or a Statistics lecture on the article about the dice game). These articles ought to be persuasive, balanced, and that it delivers a clear and concise message to the audience it's aimed for. On the other hand, the article based on Nostalgia was an enjoyable read, as it did persuade me a bit to take their position of the debate. I hope this post isn't going to be interpreted/perceived as flame, as that's not my intention at all.
  18. You can continually use a chaotic longsword as long as you repair every 25 hours of combat or so. The repair cost is like what, 2m? Vesta's longsword degrades after 1 hour and costs over 30m to buy another. That's true, but it's still a niche use nonetheless. I would always choose Rapier first, for one simple reason: It's hard to get bored of it.
  19. Well, that's a niche use. Why not use a VLS?
  20. 'Hey, I've got a secret guys!!' 'What is it?' 'I'm not telling, it's a secret' 'Eh'
  21. I definitely agree with whomever suggested the napping and ending up waking up late thing. That's happened to me three times last week dammit. Certain accents are quite annoying. I'd link a youtube link but I'm not sure if it violates the Tipit policy about naming names.
  22. Damn, I missed the video. Apparently it got flagged by JaGex for copyright...
  23. these pictures make me sad inside how much money you make o.O snip :D rebought my blue You say you don't rule switch but you quite obviously do... Noone is idiotic to stake against someone and agree that your allowed to use Summoning and they wont... Sad you gotta rule switch. That is all. That's a bit of a generalization. There are plenty of people who do stupid things on RuneScape. I'd say it's completely plausible that the person 999 staked actually thought he could win. I don't see how your reasoning is supposedly sufficient for your little rant/argument. And how is this relevant to an RS screenies thread anyway? I'd edit this post again when I make myself a new account. Haven't been on RS for a while now. EDIT - It's the player's responsibility to check the rules before staking, which they both did. The two partyhat wins is hardly 'evidence' of rule-switching. Also, if 999 did indeed rule-switch, then the option would've had a flashing red exclamation mark with "CHECK THE RULES FIRST!!" (or something of the like) before they entered the arena, which there wasn't. Your argument is currently very weak
