  1. Some evil guy gets a hand of some evil stone, everyone gets transported into world 1, the whole world turns into a wilderness where you can attack whoever you want, and then the last man standing wins. You have won runescape!
  2. I don't think its the superior minigame. Its PVM, you have a predefined strategy for most bosses. Most rooms are memorized into your head after the 5th time, and then all its about is opening all the doors everytime someone throws a dungeon at you. Not to mention that i could train magic in dungeoneering as well. So if it really was the superior minigame (its really not), magic would still give you far more options in the training of, and the use of, the skill. Theres no reason i can't have fun while training magic right? Oh no, i can only EVER have fun in dungeoneering because it forces me to have jagex's definition of "fun". Why is dungeoneering suddenly the superior skill because it forces you into a minigame that your supposed to consider fun. Wouldn't a skill with more choice in the matter, allowing you to have fun if you so wished, or if you wanted the XP a little faster so you can have fun in other aspects of the game, allow you to train it in other methods like alching. Dungeoneering: Play this minigame, its so much fun!!! Everyone loves this skill now because the minigame is so much fun!!! If you don't like this minigame, too bad! Magic: You can use/train this skill wherever you want, you can have fun with minigames, don't worry, if you get bored of the minigame there are various other methods to use magic as well. Like versing monsters, or playing other minigames like castlewars, you can even play this new daemonheim minigame if you so wished. If none of that appeals for you and you just want to do something while watching TV, then you can just alch or train in another method. Of course, its definately inferior to dungeoneering because it doesnt force you into it!!! Lets make jagex force people to play a boring PVM minigame and then call magic fun! No, im playing the you can train or use this skill however you want instead of being forced into a singular, crap minigame card. Its still the same game. The same general feel. I'm raiding a dungeon with 2 people instead of 3, wow it makes such a big difference! I didn't think not needing a skill would ever be an argument as to how good it is. But ok... If your a boss hunter, or even someone who likes PVP, farming, etc. Dungeoneering sure as hell helps, and if you really want the best, it could be considered a requirement. No it doesnt, its forcing you into a single minigame that you may not even like. Why wouldnt i want a skill that can be used in, and can be trained in multiple minigames, including your so called fun dungeoneering minigame. Just because its a "grindable" skill, does not mean its a grindy skill. It means that there is an option to train the skill via grinding. It also means that there are other methods of training the skill which may not be a grind, the main thing here is it lets you do whatever you want to train the skill, instead of being forced to train it in a particular manner that you may not even like for various reasons.
  3. Your right, because bots have devalued essence. P ess used to be best money from GOP. It's not like bots only started mining essence since like half a year. They have been botting pure essence since it was released and way before GoP was released. Exactly. But they are bigger and worse now, and even casual non RWT players bot because of the whole non permanent ban thing (I'm aware they reinstated permanent bans though, but apparently this is temporary). But hey, anythings an improvement on before. And remember, its not only the fact that yews would rise. Its also the fact that there would be far less competition from bots, and thus, more trees for the happy cutter. This is due to XP being far too highly valued in runescape, and is really another problem all togethor. I still don't know why fletching still breaks even to be honest. I would have thought it would go the road of smithing and become a skill that those rich people throw money at. In the case of production skills, the end product of the production skill would rise with the added cost of the gathering skill. In other words it would probably equalize in most cases, especially with the items more in demand (Arrows, runes, etc).
  4. Completely irrelevant and im just throwing this out there. But you would be soooooooo EPIC if you were p2p.
  5. Why not, i like skilling, skillings being devalued by bots, i complain about bots.
  6. Despite the fact that its suggested every 2nd day, i actually quite like the idea. But it would need significant limitations for balance, like only being able to weild only light (dagger) weapons in the off hand, as well as accuracy and strength penaltys in both hands. Also how would weilding a staff and a dagger work o.O Firesurge, DDS spec, win :D Too complex, though great if properly balanced.
  7. Maybe as a member, and even then, woodcutting requires less clicks. Woodcutting has always been a solid f2p money maker, it also happens to be one of the skills that are most easily bottable. And yes i do realize that part of the reason WC is such crap money is because its such a popular f2p skill. It does to an extent, i rarely skill for money anymore because there are few effective F2p money makers. Thats not to say i don't want skilling to be continually devalued by bots to the point where its barely even worth my time. Theres no reason i cant go member for P ess  I'm f2p at the moment, but i havent always been, i have 90k+ ess sitting in bank waiting for when i feel like going mem :shades: Also as i said before, there are GOP bots, and they are a major pain in the ass (part of the reason i no longer GOP) Look, im not trying to say skillings crap money. There are some very good ways to make money skilling. But nonetheless, bots DO harm skillers, and yes, skillers are legitimate players like everyone else.
  8. Yes i am feeling funky. Oh and i would do red sallies, apparently they are the best XP.
  9. Yea i used to be in a pure clan where this guy was going to get the leader a fire cape. Leader got hacked, and given 27 defence or something stupid, was pretty fail
  10. I'm pretty sure they can. And even if they couldnt, they can easily bring up the hunter level so the botter can compete with you for imps. As i said before, im f2p. Your right, because bots have devalued essence. P ess used to be best money from GOP. They don't have to be effective, if your stuck on a team with them, well GG. A friend of mine makes around 500k+ I did justify my point in previous quotes... It still harms them o.O Yea, it is. Theres a reason yews are always crowded, its sure as hell not for the XP. Devalue as in drive down the prices of raw materials so the skill, and doing the skill is barely worth it money-wise. No matter how you spin it, afking bandits doesnt have you develop any more hand eye coordination.. As for knowledge of the game, its called a guide. Better yet, just ask someone...
  11. Skilling seems a lot more social to me then combat, atleast for slayer. Slaying is usualy very quiet, then someone gets a good drop and some will grats that person. Then it goes quiet again. Ive been powerfishing for days and half these people seem to be muted. I'd go insane without my CC
  12. Then attack would be useless. Jagex seems to be against deprecating major featuresbased on their past actions. If they just changed all misses to 1's, then attack would still be useful if you wanted to hit over 1 :D Plus, attack is required to weild weapons. strength is required to hit over 1, not attack. I know that, thats why i said, IF. I bolded the quote for emphasis.
  13. Unless your hoarding or price manipulaing, i don't see how anyone could have issues with merching.
  14. You say you train dungeoneering while having fun. Is there any reason i cant train combat while having fun? I have fun in soul wars, i can train combat via soul wars. Thats "fun" to me. I can train combat with stealing creation, thats "fun" to me. And if i dont like either of those, i can train it how i want, be it through PC, slayer, FOG, etc. By comparison dungeoneering only has one way to train it, and thats with a minigame that personally, i don't even like. Its like making it so you can only train magic by playing FOG, SW, or another minigame, and then pulling the fun card out of your ass and hailing it as the best skill since dungeoneering because your forced to train it with a "fun" minigame!!! And while sure, FOG is quite a fun game, everyone would know the skill was so much better when you could train how you wanted to train. Theres nothing wrong with a minigame. But thats all dungeoneering is... A minigame. If i don't like that minigame, too bad, its the only way to train the skill. By comparison, i can train most combat skills however i feel like it. I could AFK train if i was lazy, i could slay, i could PC, i could PK, i could SW. I could even dungeoneer for combat XP (Slow XP, but still). How is forcing you into one minigame to train a skill, any more preferable than giving you a skill that you can train with minigames, monsters, other skills, afk train, whatever you want. I know i would prefer the skill with a little choice.
  15. Combat. Rarely is there a skill that is as much fun as bursting in castle wars.
  16. Then attack would be useless. Jagex seems to be against deprecating major featuresbased on their past actions. If they just changed all misses to 1's, then attack would still be useful if you wanted to hit over 1 :D Plus, attack is required to weild weapons.
  17. Dungeoneering is pretty much a glorified minigame. Magic, and combat in general, can be used in other minigames like SC, Clan wars, Castle wars, PVP, etc. And while the actual training of the skill is generally more grindy than dungeoneering, i for one think its much more fun for the skill, not the training of the skill. 5 Minigames > 1 Minigame :shades:
  18. I personally don't like slayer. Its pretty much combat, only instead of hunting what you want to hunt some [bleep] decides for you.
  19. Magic. Which also encompasses combat. Gives you access to awesome teleports. Is the funnest way to PK, castle wars, soul wars, SC, etc.
  20. Oh yea, cause there are so many ways to make money in F2p. In terms of consistent money makers, its either that, or break my arm getting 85 mining. Still devalues it. Some people consider yews good money, even with bots. Thats not to say it doesnt devalue the skill. And yet people do Its called ess bots driving essence prices down (the main source of income from GOP). Also, there are GOP bots, they click on an orb and hold it for a whole game... Master farmers Oh yea they are Inefficient or not, they still get there work devalued by bots o.O Let me clarify. Old method. Woodcut + Merch Now i really just powertrain another skill + Merch because i make pretty much the same money just merching. Did i say anything about E-peen? Cause you totally have to grind to 99 attack/strength to have good hand eye coordination and knowledge of the game.
  21. No contest, i fully agree monster hunters should get more money than skillers, they risk more, they took a longer time getting there. That being said, bots shouldnt devalue skills to the point where its not even worth your time, afkable or not. Bots already can monster hunt, they can't BOSS hunt, but you can bet your ass they can train there way to high combat and compete with you for bosses. As for merching, as if you need a bot for that. Its 5 minutes of work. Self promotion ftw. The fact we are arging this point makes it kinda obvious that we are, as you would say, educated players... I'm fully aware skilling is crap money, which is why i rarely do it for money, thats not to say i don't actually want skilling to be useful... Plus, it wouldnt be a terrible method if less bots were around
  22. Construction is cheap like a Cooking Cape. Gotta' no-life the 99 though, so why bother. construction cheap? lolwat Compared to many other skills nowadays, Construction is incredibly cheap. Right now it's under 5 gp/xp. You just have to deal with getting SC hammers, but it's well worth it. Getting over 200 SC hammers as well as 50 mill seems pretty darn hard to me.
  23. And by we, you mean you. If skiling just happens to be one of your best money makers (I know GOP and Yews are mine, and they are most definately effected by bots), then it sure as hell harms you more than benifits. The only people who are benifited by bots are people who like training secondary skills. People who hunt for money, people who cut wood for money, people who play GOP for money, people who theive, etc. They are all negatively effected by bots. For every smither who yells "woot" at low ore prices. There is a miner who is wondering why its even worth it when there are 5 other bots in the mining guild. For every fletcher there is a woodcutter, etc. Personally, ive pretty much given up on skilling for making money. Its not even worth my time, it would be great if it was. But bots have devalued skilling to the point where i could merchant for all my money and be almost as well off. ------------------------- This being said, there are combat bots as well. Even monster hunters get effected. If lots of people bot to high combat and starts monsterhunting, then hes devaluing monster hunting, if someone bots green dragons, then people who hunt greens get there work devalued. Etc. Its really not just the skillers who are effected by this.
  24. Well, if you have better gear. You get more kills, you are much less likely to get crashed, and you kill faster. All of this adds up to more profit/hr. There IS a small chance at losing your items, but for some people its worth it.
