I agree with this poster. it depends on what you wana to. Tbh you should complete your goal of runecrafting to 99. But meh, people will most probably say slayer if you want to kill things because if you get tasks like turoths you'll gain full profit - eg: I have just had a task of 169 (60 to go) and i've made 185K so far from the herbs, seeds and runes........ (it may not be much to you but it keeps me happy as roughly every 5-10 tasks i make 1m ) so yeah, if you did slayer and wanted to max your money you could farm ranarrs on the side or something in the My Big Arms Adventure plot. Other than that the gathering/making skills will give you good income

Tonight when i get home from college i'll be finishing my turoth task and getting my 180 points from sumona for my 50th task...... this means i can buy a slayer helm and have 40 residual points..... so i was wondering.... should i save up points and start blocking tasks like Kalphites and Hellhounds and Steel Dragons, then start buying the runes for slayer dart to sell? Or learn how to do a ring of slaying and get people to assist me to create them? or just buy them? Or what do you guys advise? but there is no way that i'm not getting that slayer helm tonight

How come robin hat or ranger boots are useless? And how come archer ring = waste?

When i get to 80/85 defence i want to do a bit of range slaying and get range to 70/75 maybe even 80..... I have a set up in my mind, but i wanted to run it past you lot: Head: Robin Hood Hat Cape: Ava's accumulator Bow: Rune Xbow Body: Red Dhide Legs: Red Dhide Hands: Rune Gloves/Red Dhide Boots: Snakeskin (ranger if i have the money) Ammo: Lots and lots of broad bolts - should i buy them in bulk of 2K per task? Ring: Archer/RoW So what you guys think? recon that'll be good enough? And of course when i reach 70 i will be using the black dhide body, legs, and vambs (vambs because i don't have the barrows ones)

Melee protect prayer protects 100% against any monster that is using melee on you - with Verac being the exception if you're doing barrows...... whereas if you did it on PVP or in Duel Arena it's only 50% effective. the mage prayer will give you some protection from dragons, but tbh you'll want to use a anti-dragon shield and anti-fire pots if you want to make sure that no dragon breath hits you.

Aye i belive i'm mad too : i blame Lady Heinous (Twliey on here) for getting me into runecrafting today! I'm trying out the abyss it seems like a good enough method...... hmmm 4K cosmics to make for 44 :-k this may take a while. Also how often do these damn abyssal leaches (on the ALR plane of fairy rings) drop the wretched medium pouches? i was there for atleast 30mins killing them for a pouch (only got small atm) and nothing came :(

Runecrafting..... I want to have fun runecrafting. Can you guys and gals think of any way to brighten up one of the skills i abhore most? Please?

I did Iron Knives from 21 - 60 when i first became a member on the experiments near frankenstrains castle....... did that in about a day and a bit. If you get bored of them head to the ogre enclave and range the blue dragons - nice chunk of exp and money people will probably have better suggestions

i can afford the warriors without any real effect on my cashpile........however when i get the 2m odd that i'll get sometime (please keep sending me the turoths, fire giants and banshees sumona :pray: please :pray: ) should i switch to the berserker? or wait till i get more?

:-s Warrior ring gives +4 slash attack and defence Berserker gives +4 strength and +4 in crush tbh i'm really unsure how much these bonuses would help me? Will there be any real effect in my slayer? Also out of the 2 which should i go for in the beginning?

I'm a serious slayer, however recently i took a break to (unsuccessfully so far) try and get the barrows gloves. I've heard a hell of alot off this berserker ring and so i'm gona check the tip.it items base in a sec to see what it costs and what it does........ but is it worth it over a ring of wealth? I mean...... Will this berserker ring add any effect to my slayer at all? Will it take away the quailty of the drops i get if i use instead of ring of wealth? Opinions etc please

DFS looks beefy, and I personally love that shield so it would come first for me. It's up to you, buy what you want...... but just know this:- 1) People will tell you that to utilise a GS properly you need to have atleast 85+ maybe even 90+ melee stats. 2) GS's of any description don't really have any particular use in slayer except maybe the odd spec with SGS 3) Many people say DFS only enhances your slayer if you have full bandos to work it with If you want to do serious slayer, don't like shared exp, and this money is burning a hole in your pocket then use the money on a sara sword - aka the ultimate strength weapon. But tbh just use a whip and defender for attack and defence or shared

Obvious answers = Green Dragons and Aviansies Subtle answers = Slayer, or kill things you know that might have good drops

I'm pretty much now probably the only person still wondering this but; Why the hell do you want 3m+ nails???? what purpose does that serve? And in response to this thread, i do think you probably had a tiny little bit to do with the price rise.....

I'm sticking my neck out here by saying this :? but i recon personally either you want a DFS or an obby shield if you want a shield at all! But to be fair the blessed spirit shield..... or any spirit shield for that matter have any place in slayer...... if you're desperate for something with pray bonus (which it seems is what you want if you want one of them) go for falador shield 3....... not only has it got a great +7 (i think) prayer bonus, but it is 100% free! Yup that's right...... no 4.9m for only a +3 prayer bonues. Tbh i don't know why you'd want a shield for "harder slayer tasks" just use the technique everyone else uses and go for: Helm - Slayer helm/slayer item needed for particlar monster (eg nosepeg)/black mask Ammy - Fury Hands - RFD Gloves (rune or higher)/Regen brac Torso - Guthans Legs - Guthans Shield - Defender Weapon - Whip Boots - Dragon then when you get to a health number you don't feel comfortable with just switch the head gear with the guthans helm and the weapon with the spear.... heal up, then switch helm, defender and whip back and continue with your normal slaying. Or if you really do have millions to burn on armour and weapons go for bandos plate and tassets, rune defender etc and do that.

if you're that worried about the harder tasks use rune defender and whip..... when half health switchout guthans - you only really should wear the body and legs, and switch the helm with the slayer helm/black mask and switch the spear with the defender and whip....... when healed switch helm and weapon again and continue
