Yeah, because an ingame popup is comparable to an optional, fun expository trip. Get your comparisons right. It was only optional if you didn't want the level 3 Explorer's Ring. I'll admit it's not a perfect comparison, but in-game advertising is in-game advertising. I'd rather they didn't do it at all, but memberships are how they generate revenue so I can understand why they do it.

So it's been a couple of weeks and the only thing I've gotten done is the Halloween event. [spoiler=Halloween 2011] It wasn't the best, but the new music track is pretty rockin' and the emote is abso-freaking-lutely amazing! <3: [spoiler=Best. Emote. Ever. <3] The emotes have been getting better and better with each holiday event. I can't wait to see what they come up with for Christmas. Also, I liked the Deathcon t-shirt so much that I got my hair did and went clothes shopping to make a cool new outfit. [spoiler=Dig the hawtness] I was even able to match the purple pretty closely on my Falador Herald cape to complete the ensemble. :thumbup: It's not blue and white, and doesn't look good with my mask but it's a nice change of pace. I have a feeling I'll be wearing this for a while. As for Mining, I've got about 1.1M xp left to go 'till the end of my journey. I'm hoping to get some playing time in this week so I can tell you about some real progress next time. Finally, join me in congratulating Sonic for getting his F2P Dungeoneering Guide added to the Archive of Wisdom. This is his second AoW guide, the first being his F2P Runecrafting Guide, and it is well deserved indeed. =D>

A very big thanks to Peter (and the rest of the admin team, of course) for all his hard work getting us back up and running again, and for taking the time our of his busy sleep schedule to answer our questions. :P It's amazing how much is going on behinds the scenes to keep things running smoothly. As "God" once said in an episode of Futurama: "When you do things right, people wont be sure youve done anything at all."

The in-game advertising isn't so bad. The Gnomecopter was nothing but a big membership benefits ad, and that was lots of fun.

Saradomin Mage is right, but could also just be simple web advertising. GAME's clientele obviously play online games so they'd be good targets to advertise to.

It's just speculation that the Golden Scythe is connected to the GJA. It appeared in the POH toybox the update before the awards were given out and has "Golden" in it's name so it wasn't much of a leap.

They'll spin the fact that they came in third, it's what they have marking people for. Still, when you consider how many free game there are out there, third place is pretty darn good.

If you enjoy killing them, then go for it. Especially if the drops cover your miscellaneous expenses. It is a game after all, and meant to be fun. Inb4effeciancyargument.
