  1. True, but it could also prevent them from hijacking your email or online bank account access. Hijacked email doesn't sound so bad but trust me, no one wants to have to explain to their mother why she received an email from your account trying to get her to sign up for a hard core porno site...I know I certainly didn't.
  2. Hmm...that's a good point. Still, a F2P'er can dream.
  3. I'm only 75 woodcutting, and I've gained over 5k ranks since Tuesday. Not bad for a skill I haven't trained in over a year.
  4. Cripes! He's huge! What are we supposed to do, try and get his boot off so we can cut his Achilles tendon?
  5. While I'll admit that I've also used cheats/cracks to open up higher level content in some of my single-player PC games (it is pretty cool to walk though a game laying waste to all I see  ), I always go back to playing the game properly after a while because there's no feeling of accomplishment and the game becomes very boring very quickly. I guess that's why I don't see the point in botting RS, it takes away any feelings of having achieved something. Even if it is just in a video game.
  6. You might also want to do a quick sweep for viruses or keyloggers. Just to be safe.
  7. One of the more clever ones I've seen was when a friend of mine dressed all in black and hung a shot glass on a string around his neck. He was a shot in the dark.
  8. It's going to take some time for the GE to balance itself again. We'll all just have to be patient and take advantage of cheap resources while we can. I know I have.
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it this update required some major rewriting of the code to put everything into apparently random cluster addresses, but readdressing the items within the cluster is relatively minor so if someone like RSBuddy figures out where everything is they can simply move it again. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if they were already planning to incorporate this readdressing into future updates every so often just to stay ahead of the bot makers.
  10. I think you've hit the nail on the head. RS is definitely not for those looking for an instant gratification/god cheat code/warp to the final boss kind of game.
  11. I didn't know about this. Thanks.
  12. I've also noticed another side effect of Clusterflutterer. I, like many others, have been going up on the high scores in skills I haven't been training. The first day I gained almost 300 Mining ranks before I even logged in, and when I checked today I found that I have also gained the following since Tuesday: Woodcutting +4500 (!) Fishing +2000 Runecrafting +700 Not bad for two days of not training, eh?
  13. Harsh or not, banning has long been the punishment for bug abuse but it's unlikely they'll do that this time. I suspect they'll simply remove those loyalty rewards from the people who abused it.
  14. They're also not the only items that can only be acquired in P2P but can be sold/traded to F2P. F2P certainly doesn't need anything that would further unbalance the combat triangle in favor of melee.
  15. That's why so many people felt like they had been driven onto the foreign servers by bots. I know I did sometimes. <_<
  16. That's good to hear.
  17. Trust trading is not against the rules now as dicing is not against the rules. However in my opinion they should make dicing against the rules, it is worse then merchanting (which is in my opinion a form of scam, don't want to debate about that here), they should just make a dicing room where you can dice against computers, would be a lovely money drain. Lol at merchenting being a form of a scam. You clearly just lost the debate with that sentence. This. Price manipulation clans are definitely a scam, but merchanting most certainly is not.
  18. It's quite common on the foreign language servers, especially the German ones, but you're right, it's very rare on the English servers. Edit: I've also noticed that w1 hasn't been full since the update yesterday.
  19. Looks like the wild is going to be very spooky and foreboding.
  20. It's been working fine for me in WinXP Pro with SP3.
  21. What was the first year's? I know we had the golden cracker last year, but I don't think they did anything for the first one. They didn't. The Golden Cracker/Hammer was an appreciation reward to the players after they had won two years in a row.
