Wasn't that during the first Cryptic Clue Event where we overloaded and crashed the forum server?

Good job with the melee skills. Nice to see another F2P'er. You should check out Zaaps' guide to F2P combat. Since you haven't played in a while, it might have some tips you hadn't thought of.

Then I've got some work to do, don't I? Let's see, 225k posts should only take a couple of days, right?

Given how prolific some of our posters are, I'm pretty sure we're long past that. (Yes, I'm looking at you Mr. Sonic-I-post-on-everything-because-I'm-awesome. I still remember when you were new and look at you now. :shades: ) I think a better question might be how long till we hit 50m posts.

How strict are you on applicants?
Being a solo merchant clan, we try to help everyone but to be invited you have to pass a test showing you have an understanding of basic merch skills. Of course, anyone can still join the friend cc to ask for advice.

[Discussion] gambling in runescape, RS Mafia&CO, solutions to the problem
So you're advocating rule changing through rule breaking? I like it! It's sort of like non-violent resistance. Not that collective protests have ever changed Jagex's mind on anything in the past... :???:

[Discussion] gambling in runescape, RS Mafia&CO, solutions to the problem
It seems there are too many rules with both 'letter of the law' and 'spirit of the law' standards (like the spam issue you and I were discussing) that leave far too much room for interpretation depending on which mod looks at it. Perhaps it's time for Jagex to sit down and take a serious look at revamping these ambiguous rules before more people get black marks on their file based on poorly worded technicalities.

Sonic's F2P Runecrafting Guide
As today's update added a teleport option to the vexillums, it might be faster to use that and the Fallador East bank when tabbing to the water alter as the teleport animation is much faster than the cabbage port. The clan camp seems to be almost as far away as the Draynor bank, but it might be an option for those who don't have the stats to get an Explorer's Ring 3/4 or use teleports.

Agreed. But as there are no controls, or even rules for enforcement, in place the potential for scamming is always there.

And I hope you understand that, technically, Jagex does consider it, and all other forms of trust games, scamming...it just doesn't specifically has a rule against it, and that's the problem. They need to either make it against the rules, or add something that will make it safe and remove the potential for scamming. I agree with you that a item from Faruq to hold the money would remedy this problem nicely.

Dag. Looks like this might even be better than the LRC. I love the look of the golden mining outfit. Very fancy.

Wish granting fairies? Seriously though, that pretty much limits you to fire blast/crumble like K4ylan said or xp lamps. The best thing I've found for Magic is combining it with other skills. RC + teleports, Mining + superheating, etc... Edit: A very big congrats to Isthatok. That's an amazing accomplishment.

Player Mods, Ethics, and Dicing
If they're spamming "doubling gold" or "join cc <x> to make big money" or whatever, then you can at least report them for disruptive behavior. It may not be autotyping, but spamming the chat box so no one else can talk is also against the rules. That's not disruptive behavior, that's advertising their service (provided they are legit and don't scam). If simply spamming a message like that is reportable than people spamming their buy or sell offers of various items in crowded trading hotspots are guilty of disruptive behaviour as well. Sonic's F2P Dungeoneering Guide
The guide really came out good Sonic. My only suggestion would be to gather tips for soloing in one place. I realize that the best xp comes from teams, but it's pretty hard to find people to DG with when you're first starting out, so soloing can be the only option for a long time. Stuff like playing the highest floor of each type many times (ie: playing f11 frozen 11 times instead of 1-11 once each). It's buried in the middle of the explanation of the experience screen and I almost missed it. Still a great guide though. I'll definitely be using it while I train.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
It's been interesting following this. It's amazing how high level players can get so animated about two completely valid (from where I sit, anyway) yet different approaches to the same skill. I can see how a plate might not be worth it for those who have high def/con/range, but what about us little people (ie: me) with low 50's for str/def/con and only 40 range? There are plenty of times that I need the extra protection given by a Fractite plate (...and legs...and helm...and anything else I can get my hands on) so I don't have to blow through all the food I find before I even get to the boss. My DG is only at 38 atm, but I'll hopefully be making it to 50 before long and had always assumed I would simply grab a Fractite plate as my 2nd bind but now I'm not so sure. Thoughts? Other than "lol noob levels you suck!" of course. ;)
