Future Update Discussions
Well, they'd better. Still, it would probably not be that interesting of a quest. It's going to be highly unlikely there's a boss here. Unless we get to fight something like the Love TriangleTrio. Now that would be an interesting quest.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
They can pull whatever they like. I don't think it's right either, but apparently it's what the market will bear so you really can't fault them for wanting to get as much as they can.

Future Update Discussions
They're taking R&J out altogether when they release the new quest, so it won't be an issue.

Why not? Why does anyone go for 99 in any skill?

Buttons on reply/new topic text box don't work
Are you running an ad or script blocker of any kind? When I first added NoScript to FireFox I had that problem until I allowed Tip.It.

Why does Jagex make such a big fuss about bank space?
Try doing it in F2P. ;) Seriously though, it must have to do with memory. Sure it's only a few bytes of space per item, but when you add that up across however many millions of accounts it starts taking up a lot of space.

As long as one mouse click/button press results in one action then you're okay.

Most likely. Of course they have to take that one ability that makes completing the diaries worthwhile. <_< It got glitched when the Elite diaries were released. I thought it had been fixed with the last update, but after reading through the update notes it doesn't look like it's been fixed yet.

Something smells fishy?????
By adding Stiles, they've basically given F2P a drop box on Karmaja. It's just that you have to carry around the noted fish instead of putting it directly into your bank. Bring an axe and a tinderbox with you and you can fish/cook indefinitely without ever leaving the island.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
Yeah, it's not much of a difference but that 5k/hr adds up over the 13M Xp it takes to get 99. It's still good Xp/hr, and, as I said before, excellent when you add the fact that you're banking ores while doing it. Yeah, it really adds up fast. Powermining at 35k exp/h would take 350 hours from 70-99. Banking would take 410 hours. That's a difference of 60 hours, or 17%. I for one would not like to spend 17% more time on a skill that I really hate. Then again, power mining is also a fair bit more borring then banking so I'd have to test it to see if the speed was worth the price. The 350,000 ores it takes from 75-99 would equate to 78.75M which is a whole lot of money even for a person like me who has a lot already. With these values, it's closer to 1.3M gp/h that you'd have to make in order to have power mining be 'worth it' just in terms of getting a 99 as well as 80M. Of course, if you're planning on making money after 99 mining, you might as well mine rune which can make nearly that much. So I guess it's all up to personal preference; powermine and mine rune later, or just bank all your ores and sell them. I like the calculations and it makes sense. Of course, your inputs must be valid in order for the output to make sense. The inputs here are the xp/hour for powermining and banking. The former...is easier to figure out an average that you can use for lvl 75-99. The latter....not so much. Someone extrapolated the figure 29.4k/hour based on one inventory. That, my friends, is just plain silly. That number is significantly lower b/c of competition. I don't think you can be at the spot in dwarven mines for too long without interruptions. In the long term, the xp/hour drops down to 22.5k/hour (tested). For powermining, it averages more 41k/hour at hobgoblins mines at the 4 rocks on a bounty world. I have personally been there for 85-87 and this was the figure that I obtained. You're right of course, you can't properly calculate an average based up on one inventory. However, using the Hobgoblin mine has it's own, sometimes similar, problems. You can't depend on mining there for any length of time without being interrupted by either PK'ers or Revenants (at least I couldn't anyway, personal results tend to vary), and it's not the easiest spot to get to. Mining in Rimmington, Al-Kharid or the Dwarven Mine are much more common and give the 35k Xp/hr average quoted above. Also, potential Xp gains are not always tempered by real world results. If (granted, in the Dwarven Mine that's a big IF) you could keep up the rate suggested, then 29-30k Xp/hr while banking the ore is potentially possible. It's just not very realistic.

It's still effective if you're a member and mining gold in the LRC. To mine all of your ores and then smelt/smith them has, unfortunately, kind of fallen by the wayside as it's not a horribly effective way of training either skill, or to make money, so people tend to shy away from it. As our skill levels get higher, we begin to focus more on the most effective way to train them and less on simply just doing them.

Kaida23's Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero!
<3: For you, my Runecrafting brother, I offer the following update: I was able to finish the Lumbridge Hard diary with only 52 RC! [spoiler=Check it out...][spoiler=Crafting 103 Water Runes] [spoiler=Talking to Ned] Wow, indeed! [spoiler=Explorer's Ring (4) baby!] I used the Xp lamp on RC, finished off the last couple of hundred Xp and leveled up again. [spoiler=Runecrafting Level 53] I've got enough essence left to get to level 55, so I'll slowly be working on that along with my Dungeoneering. Speaking of which, this one's for my F2P Dungeoneering brother (and inspiration), Sonic: [spoiler=Dungeoneering Levels 32-34][spoiler=Level 32] [spoiler=Level 33] [spoiler=Level 34] I love the Xp I get from doing medium dungeons, but they take for ever for me to finish so I really only have time for them on weekends. I know I'm spending a lot of time prepping for the boss, but I really needed it last time. If I didn't have a full inventory of flatfish (there were no short-finned eels...in a C6 med :wall:) , that freaking Hobgoblin Geomancer would have had me for breakfast (note the low health and 0 prayer left in the pic). The monsters and bosses are getting harder (duh!) the deeper I go into the dungeon so the floors are taking a bit longer, but my level is still a couple of floors ahead of where I actually am so I shouldn't have to reset for a few more floors (the last time I reset was floor 2 btw, waaay back at level 4). So for now, I'll just keep plugging away at C6 smalls during the week and try and get at least one medium on the weekends. I've also started using my leftover gp to buy Protoleather and make hides before finishing off the boss to gain some extra Crafting Xp (an excellent idea I totally stole from Sonic's blog). I gained over 3k Xp from this in the last dungeon, and it didn't take more than a couple of minutes to do. I'll definitely be doing this from now on. Now, as for the rest of you...unfortunately I gained no other levels this week so I have nothing to offer you but my gratitude and thanks for coming along with my on my journey though RuneScape (as twisted and easily sidetracked as it is :^_^:). Being able to brag about...er, "share" my experiences and accomplishments with all of you makes everything that much better. Until next time blog fans. :shades:

Goblin Diplomacy
It depends on a great deal of luck. I've had days where I could buy some instantly and others where offers were up for a day or more without buying any.

Sonic - rip blogging
Congrats on 73 Dung! How come you don't craft Protoleather bodies when you finish a dungeon? It gives more Crafting Xp per leather. Seems to work better than boots.

That's actually slower than the Xp/hour you could make powertraining Mining, but very excellent for being able to bank the ores.

Do you read any of the in-game books on Runescape?
I try to read most of the books I come across. I've read all of the Dungeoneering journal sections (or whatever their called) I've found though.

Paranormal Investigations
It's unlisted. Anyways, it probably belongs to the town. He still makes a good point. Even if it's not technically owned by anyone you can still be charged with breaking and entering, or at the very least trespassing. BTW: it's still considered breaking and entering even if you don't actually "break" anything to get in (ie: the Church House), so be careful.

exploers ring lvl3 10% extra runes broken?????????
That's just for the multiple runes you get based on your RC level. The extra runes crafted by the Explorer's Ring also gives extra Xp.

exploers ring lvl3 10% extra runes broken?????????
It was glitched when they released the Explorer's Ring (4). It was supposed to be fixed in the last update though.
