How many pmods are well known to you? Myself, I only know of a couple because they're members of TIF, but I've never seen them in-game so I couldn't comment on how good or fair they are. In over 5 years of playing, I've only seen a pmod in-game twice; once was at Lady Shahdie's 99 Mining party, and the second didn't exactly leave me with the best impression of them (and no, it wasn't because I was doing something wrong and I'm bitter). Currently pmods are simply more respected by Jagex and thus their abuse reports are given higher priority and they are trusted to mute disrespectful players. Mutes are easily gauged and, from what I've seen, generally only argued by the people who receive them. Bans are harder, that's why Jagex carefully reviews the player's behavior before handing them out. No matter how well intentioned this would be if implemented, eventually they would accidentally hit somebody who wasn't doing anything wrong and the backlash against the pmods would be incredible.

useing a deposit box would speed up xp per hour because of its pretty much a 1 click drop all button instead of dropping em all 1 by one or banking in fally No one drops entire inventories of ores anymore except bots. Dropping an ore while you're mining the next one doesn't slow anything down because you're dropping during the mining animation. If timed correctly you can constantly mine with no stopping except to run between ores. Anything that would take you away from the rocks, like running to the deposit box, would slow this down. That said, this is definitely the fastest way to both mine and bank your iron ores. I'd forgotten about the Hobgoblin mine. With four rocks in close proximity you'd definitely get higher Xp/hour rates there. I don't use it myself because I hate being interrupted by PK'ers or Revs.

I think this is a great idea in principal, but as Kimberly said there are problems enough with the pmods as it is. All it would take is one person abusing this power to destroy faith in the pmods altogether.

Your max Xp/hour rate is *way* to high for F2P. Three-rock powermining iron tops out at around 36k Xp/hour (trust me, I've been doing it for the last year) so using the deposit box method would be less than that, probably more like 32-34k Xp/hour. I also noticed a typo and a small mistake: I think you meant to type "west", but the ladder to the mine is actually east of the partyroom.

I started reading up on the new release and...wow! I hadn't realized the Dungeoneering resource dungeon update was so robust: - a bank box in the Dwarven Mine - a total of 13 more Mithril rocks, 4 more Adamant rocks and 3(!) more Runite rocks - 8 Maple trees (F2P can now cut Maples!!! :thumbsup:) It's a veritable F2P skiller's wet dream. I'm not too sure which rewards are new, but I don't recall the gem bag in the initial release and it would be very helpful to have on the rest of my climb to 99 Mining. Now I'm really considering putting off my mining for a while and descending into the depths of Deamonhiem so I might reap the rewards of this latest update. If I like it and the leveling goes well, I might just put off 99 Mining for a bit and get 1000 total at the same time. Or at the very least get 25 Dung so I can get the gem bag and then get back to mining again. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of it either but since I'm making good money merching I figured it pretty much evened out. With the resource dungeon update, I'm seriously reconsidering it though. Does anyone know if using the bank box in the Dwarven Mine resource dungeon has a serious effect on xp/hour?

Because it's hard to convince people you're not going to do something after you just finished doing it. They didn't raise any existing skills level cap to 120. They released a new skill with a cap of 120. So therefore, they did not raise anything. If that makes sense. Fair enough. They didn't raise the Dungeoneering level cap, but the fact remains they gave a skill a cap of 120. Now people are having a hard time believing that no other skills are going to get a cap of 120. I think eventually they will slowly raise the level caps for the other skills while releasing new content. Most likely it will be done one skill at a time, with new content being released over several months to a year. They could do a different skill every other year, while the intervening year could have content released normally.

Because it's hard to convince people you're not going to do something after you just finished doing it.

I'm like the Cheshire Cat, appearing and then disappearing as quickly as I came. :lol: Seriously though, life has a way of cutting into gaming time. Once again I had my kids for the summer, and RS kind of fell by the wayside but I have returned...sort of. Haven't had much time for playing lately, but I was able to get in and complete the Cryptic Clue Fest II: ...and did a little wardrobe shopping I absolutely love the Investigator's outfit! <3: I think it's the best looking thing F2P has gotten since GOP and the Runecrafter's robes. Jagex definitely has set the bar for futue event rewards pretty high. My problem is since we've also gotten a basic clothing update I'm torn as to what I'm going to wear. I'm not even sure which of my two basic outfits I like better. :-k The Investigator outfit is awesome, but the basic outfit matches my mask like nothing else (seriously, why was that the only thing Jagex ever gave us in that shade of blue? #-o). I'm going to have a difficult decision to make. I'm hoping I can start getting some more game time in again when my boys go back to school in a couple of weeks. Look for more regular updates to start up again. I've actually been considering it, but getting another 99 levels across the rest of my skills would delay my getting 99 Mining quite a bit. If I knew for certain when (or even if) Jagex was going to be releasing the F2P skill items, then I would definitely take to the time get 1000 total at the same time. I certainly am! You don't achieve something like this without bragging to...er, I mean celebrating with your friends. :grin: Watch for details as I get closer. There's not much to it. Really. I've found a couple of items that I can buy and sell quite rapidly, and I'm fairly aggressive with my pricing to help keep things moving quickly. I'd rather make a couple of gp less per item and have it sell right away than wait two days for max profit. The trick is to find items that are traded heavily and can be bought/sold in large quantities quickly. Raw materials (ores, ess, raw fish, etc...) have worked the best for me. It's been a couple of months so I'm going to have to test my items again and see if they still work. Wow! A long one today. Thanks for all the kind words and support everyone. I've begun lurking around TIF again after a couple of months off, and while going through my favorite topic/blogs I came across a most distressing entry by my favorite Miner/Smither, Lady Shahdie: Tiara girl signing out. The revelation that she had retired from RS was both sad and unexpected. It just goes to show that real life can get in the way of even the brightest online stars. I realize that I'm over a month late now, but she was my inspiration, as I'm sure she was for others as well, to go for 99 Mining and her videos were a source of much entertainment. We'll all miss you Lady. Come back to us soon.
