TUTO ISLAND has some Bad News...
Another wonderful entry, although I didn't realize giant turtles worshiped Bob the Cat. Methinks they might be a bit confused. Congrats on 43 Prayer!

Dmoc5's Runescape Progress
Nice blog so far. I especially like the story bits at the beginning of the posts. Here are some suggestions to help you on your way: Smelting goes much faster if you use the furnace in Al-Kharid. It's the closest one to a bank in F2P. Smelt all your ores into bars, and then smith them at the anvil across from the bank on the west side of Varrock (near the G.E.). How are you planning on training your Mining? Pure speed, or slower but with profit? I tested a lot of different ways a couple of months back so I can tell you which would be best for how you want to do it. As for Runecrafting, you should check out Sonic3190's F2P Runecrafting Guide. It's got lots of great tips to help you decide which way is best for you. Fishing lobsters at Karmja is a good way to make money, but it's also a good way to cross-train cooking. Just take an axe with you, there are a couple of regular trees near the customs office. There's also an NPC named Stiles who can one-click note all your lobsters, tunas and swordfish so you don't have to leave the island to bank them and can just keep training. [hide=You can find Stiles here][/hide] Good luck with your goals. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Kaida23's Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero!
Thanks for the support everyone. You guys are awesome! <3: Big news today gang. This morning I crossed the threshold from "big" to downright "insane" levels. That's right...LEVEL 96!!! :twss: [hide=Boo yah!][/hide] I have now crossed over into the realm of 7-figure level differences. There's over 1 Million Xp to the next level. That would take you from nothing in a skill almost all the way to level 74! And I need that much for just one level? Tell me that's not insane. It's things like this that separate the strong from the weak, the casual from the hardcore, the clinically insane from...well, the rest of you. :P I try to remain motivated though. I made over 310k Xp this week. Not bad for my first week back. If I can keep up with my mining throughout the summer, I should hit 99 sometime around the end of August. Better get back to it though, those rocks won't mine themselves. Lol. I just looked up to see how my son was doing with his homework and he's fallen asleep at the table. Kids are wonderful. <3:

New RuneScape Downloadable Client?
SAME HERE. I'm really annoyed. Which version of Windows are you using? I had no problems installing or running it on XP Pro SP3, and I'm not even the administrator (work laptop. *shhh*)

Aaaarrrghhh ... I'm a monster.

Minen Smith bloggen
Wow. You have been swamped. No updates since February. I hope you've been able to find time to continue with your mining/smithing. I like the idea of your guild, with higher level players helping out lower level one, and hope it is working out for you. Good luck.

Dungeoneering Suggestions
Sonic, once again you show the rest of TIF why you're one of my favorite people. <3: This is an excellent suggestion thread, with reasonable and balanced solutions to a lot of problems. Having not trained Dungeoneering yet, I was not aware of a lot of these issues, but this one really jumped out at me: Why would they make the Skillcapes unwearable? Especially the Dungeonerring cape. This makes no sense to me and I agree that this needs to be rectified. I'm not working my butt off to earn one, only to have it excluded from the new skill. This also means that anyone in F2P with one cannot train Dungeoneering without having to pay for membership again to put it back on. I really hope this wasn't done intentionally (*cough* Christmas '09 event *cough*). Oh, one more thing: What's done is done. Let's be solution oriented.

New RuneScape Downloadable Client?
Thats probably due to the included java environment (im guessing) Visually nothing has changed though, although there is now a menu bar with an options tabs, but you can only select languages. That must be it, since once installed it takes up almost 30MB. Not a huge amount of space, but probably more than most people would expect.

New RuneScape Downloadable Client?
Wow. The installer is almost 10MB! That's a pretty big jump from the 90kb that the last client was.

.: d[^_^]b nerdboyxxx d[^_^]b :. Account got hacked
It's great to see that you're back as well. Just can't resist the siren call of the mine, can we? I wish I could tell you I've found some magical new way of mining in F2P, but iron is still the fastest xp. On a less discouraging note, you don't necessarily need to be on a full world to make decent xp/hour. Mining in F2P tends to max out around 36-38k/hour, but you can still make 30-32k/hour on a world with under 500 people. Heck, this morning I made over 30k/hour on a world with only 350! Try to find an empty spot in either Rimmington or Al-Kharid with three rocks close together (I like Rimmington personally, it tends to be quieter). Good luck my friend. Hope you can get your membership back soon so you can return to concentrated gold.

Dungeoneering: Beyond the Release
This portion truly excited me the most. As fun as it is to escape from typical RuneScape and wreck havoc down in Daemonheim, I was really hoping this skill would have surface world application. While this isn't exactly what I pictured it certainly would be helpful nevertheless. I can only pray that there would be a secret dungeon with a new rune respawn . I would gladly level my dungeoneering much more adamantly if this will be the case. That being said, they better make the reqs on the steeper side if a miner like myself or any other skiller could truly benefit from less competition. This was my thought on that section as well. It would certainly make leveling Dungeoneering worth while.

TUTO ISLAND has some Bad News...
Dude! Great blog. I'm definitely going to be watching this one. I haven't had time to go through it all yet (lots o' pics + slow connection = :wall: ), but I'm loving it so far. As one of those "maximize their xp per hour" people (but only 'till I get 99 Mining), I still try to enjoy the game as much as I can...though it's mostly vicariously though people like you. Keep up the great work! Poor little Foofles. We barely knew ye. :boohoo:

Kaida23's Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero!
No kidding. Gonna have to get myself a big feathered hat and a cane. It's so close I can almost taste it. (hmm...iron ore dust. Yummy!) Still 3 or 4 months off yet, but I shall persevere. So this morning I was looking around Sonic's blog and noticed that he had completed a quest I had never heard of. I thought this odd as we're both F2P, so I looked up this "Blood Pact" thing and found that while I was away I had missed not only the release of a new skill, but a new quest as well. Well, that just would not do! So I retrieved my magnificent Saradomin armor from the back of the shed, dusted it off and was on my to the Lumbridge cemetery. Along the way, I noticed that my scimitar had rusted into it's scabbard (it's been a long time since I needed it last). After struggling with it for a bit I finally got it out. A quick stop at Bob's Axes to get it resharpened and i was back in business! At the cemetery I spoke to Xenia, a famous female adventurer whose name is certainly not based upon a famous TV character, and we were on our way to rescue the damsel in distress (you know, classic hero stuff). All told it was a neat little quest that does a pretty good job of explaining the combat triangle without all the discouraging truth of how it really works in F2P. Thus I did finish my first quest in I don't know how long. The last questy type thing I did was the Lumbridge Achievement Diary almost a year and a half ago. [hide=Beginner quests = massive rewards!][/hide] I also took it upon myself to explore the Lumbridge Catacombs and piece together the necromancer's mask. I'd like to say that my epic combat skills were what allowed me to mow through the vile creatures I encountered in that Saradomin-forsaken place, but it was simply because the highest creature in there was only level 20 and they were horribly outclassed. That didn't stop them from making it difficult to find the mask pieces I needed. Even knowing exactly which creatures to fight (thank you Tip.It), I had to fight far more of them than I would have expected. But in the end I prevailed and the mask was mine! [hide=Aww yeah. Lookin' good!][/hide] ...unfortunately, Xenia didn't share my enthusiasm for my new headpiece. [hide=Someone must be jealous.][/hide] See that look on my face? I'm coming back to show her who looks ridiculous! Or just sit in the corner and pout. Haven't decided yet. Mining-wise, I've gotten about 140k Xp so far this week (did I mention how much I love the Xp tracker? <3: ) and have about 155k left 'till 96. I'm hoping I can get it by the end of the weekend or early next week. Until next time, blog fans!

The ULTIMATE F2P Fishing Guide
There's also an NPC named Stiles on Karamja who will one-click note all your lobsters, tuna and swordfish (cooked and raw) for you so you don't have to leave the island at all. You can find him here:

Kaida23's Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero!
Hey thunderlord! Even in P2P, 95 Mining is still a pretty big achievement. Much respect back at ya. I can't believe how much things can change in a couple of months. Now, I don't mean updates (although the xp tracker is pretty awesome <3: ) but rather the simple price of things. Specifically rares. The partyhats have gone up pretty much as I thought they would, but I was absolutely flabbergasted when I checked the price of my mask today: 111.7M!!! That's almost 10 TIMES what I paid for it a year ago, and more than double what it was worth in January. What the heck happened??? The same thing has happened to Easters and Pumpkins. Did I miss something? Why the demand for lower end rares all of a sudden? If this keeps up I may have to rethink my goal of a white phat... :-k

Making your own items instead of buying them
Perhaps said person enjoys both the challenge and sense of achievement they get from being able to say "I collected all of (x) to (do y) myself!" Not everyone is out to do things the easiest/most cost effective way. If that were the case, no one would ever get 99 in anything in F2P.

Level 96 Smithing - 1, 2, 3!
Congrats on 96! Mining cape trimmed with Smithing for the crazy win! I checked out your mining contest, that guy in the lead put up amazing numbers for only 72 hours! Good luck to anyone trying to catch him.

Lobster Fishing F2p
The NPC's name is Stiles. He only exchanges lobster, tuna and swordfish and he can be found here: Edit: I just tried it out, and you can one-click note all of your lobster, tuna and swordfish (both raw and cooked). kingmickez25 is right, if you use Stiles you don't have to leave Karamja at all.
