  1. Banned for making Death laugh (or at least giggle).
  2. No. Did you know that that, despite what Mythbusters concluded, a cell phone can generate enough of an electrical spark to ignite gasoline fumes? (I've seen it happen...)
  3. I can definitely forgive being sucked in by Fallout 3, but only for so long my friend. Don't slack on your mining. :shame: I hope you're enjoying it though. If I brought Fallout 3 home, I think my poor old computer would have a heart attack.
  4. Well, a whole week (and a couple of days) has gone by so it's time for a quick update. I've gained about 100k Xp, and about 100k gp, with all the various xp/ore per hour tests I've been doing for Zapps1 (in between watching The X-Files of course ). I think I've gotten all of the rates Zapps was looking for, so I'll be getting back to all out powermining again. Not surprisingly, I've found that the best place, for me at least, is still good ol' Rimmington. Only the Hobgoblin mine in the wildy gave better xp per hour, but it's a real pain to get to and I kept getting PK'd. It's a good thing my merching has been going as good as it has, because I lost two sets of Rune armor testing there... :wall: So I shall continue my mining in Rimmington. With a little over 800k Xp left until level 96, I'm hoping I can get most of the way there by the end of the month. If I'm not too distracted by aliens and conspiracy theories that is...
  5. No. I used the Explorer's ring cabbage port from the guild, ran to the bank in Draynor, ported back to the cabbage patch and ran back to the guild from there. I can get some runes and try again, but I don't know how much faster porting to Fallador would be as most of the time was spent mining and very little time was spent running back and forth (even without using the teleports).
  6. Once again I feel compelled to point out the difference between a "merchanting clan" (ie: a group of like-minded individuals helping each other to understand buying/selling on the G.E.) and a "maniuplation/buyout clan" (ie: large quantities of people collaborating together to buy the same item and drive up the price). A clan of merchants is not necessarily a clan of manipulators. That being said, I have to agree. The "clans" who use bots to advertise and then screw their own members over when it comes time to sell are a problem. I don't know if it qualifies as item scamming, but it is definitely a scam. Fortunately, there are plenty of effective ways to solo merch on the G.E. (even in F2P).
  7. Merchanting. Powertraining Mining doesn't leave a lot of time for anything else.
  8. Forum Name: Kaida23 Desired Name for Credits: Kaida23 Location: Crafting Guild Method (1): Banking Gold using the Explorer's ring. Equipment (1): Rune pickaxe, brown apron, Explorer's Ring 3 Results (1): 10920 60 mins, 168 ores, W152/700-800 people. Started the timer at the bank in Draynor, made 6 complete runs and time ran out half-way back to the Guild. Stopped at the musician on each trip back to the Guild. Method (2): Banking Gold running back and forth Equipment (2): Rune pickaxe, brown apron Results (2): 10660 60 mins, 164 ores, W152/700-800 people. Once again, I started the timer at the bank in Draynor, made 5 complete runs and time ran out during the 6th one. Stopped at the musician every time I passed him. I was actually quite surprised at the results of this. I thought that there would be a much larger difference between these two methods.
  9. Future Shop is the devil. Best Buy FTW! They are owned by the same people. lol Yeah, I know. But I'll always take the the store with non-commission sales staff over the commissioned staff trying to up-sell me pointless warranties and accessories I don't need. That's why Best Buy >Future Shop.
  10. Maybe I'm just bad at PK'ing (I'm a lover, not a fighter ), maybe I've had a run of bad luck with the mine, maybe it's karmic retribution for all the Hobgoblins I killed while training combat. Who knows? For me, the small amount of extra Xp per hour isn't worth the hassle.
  11. Forum Name: Kaida23 Desired Name for Credits: Kaida23 Location: Hobgoblin Mine Method: powermining Iron Equipment: Rune Pickaxe, full Rune armor, food Results: 27055 42:09 mins, W17/900-1000 people. (aprox. 38k/hour) I started the timer after the Hobs stopped being aggressive and mined the four rocks recommended by Sonic, but didn't get anywhere near what he had predicted. It took me three tries to get this, and it's still not a full hour (I stopped the timer when I was attacked). Each time someone would come along and PK me. While this is slightly faster than powermining in Rimmington, I don't think that the hassle of waiting for the Hobgoblins to be non-aggressive, dealing with either Revs or PK'ers or the cost of supplies is worth an extra couple of thousand Xp per hour. Location: Crafting Guild Equipment: Rune Pickaxe, brown apron Method (1): powermining Gold Results (1): 16250 60 mins, W17 w/800-900 people Method (2): powermining Gold and Silver Results (2): 22160 60 mins, w17 w/800-900 people In the first method I mined just the Gold and in the second I also mined Silver while waiting for the Gold to respawn. I started out on a fuller world but there was too much competition. I definitely recommend mining Gold on an emptier world. Zapps, I should have rates for banking Gold (both running and using the Explorer's Ring) by the end of the weekend. Also, I've been working on getting powermining rates from the Skeleton Mine, but it's too close to the Wilderness ditch to do on a PvP world and I keep getting attacked by Revs on regular worlds. I can't see it being much different than the Mining Guild though (except for not needing 60 Mining of course).
  12. Future Shop is the devil. Best Buy FTW!
  13. I don't think the Quiz Master gives out xp lamps. I've gotten it twice in the last month and didn't get a lamp either time. The maze doesn't give you a lamp either.

  15. Woot! Contrats on 70 Farming and good luck with Summoning! btw, what's your Summoning level?
  16. And extremely crowded, at least on normal worlds in my timezone. Are there fewer people there on the skiller worlds?
  17. Banned for being too slow. :P
  18. Dude, you resurrected a thread over a year dead. With an active thread on this already going. Someone spent the holidays raising their Thread Necromancy skill...

  20. Nice. I'm glad to hear the LRC is working out for you.
  21. Welcome to Tip.It and welcome to the wonderful world of RS blogging. Always glad to see another person going for the almighty 99 Mining. If you want gp as well as xp, I'd recommend trying the Living Rock Caverns. Your level is high enough to mine the concentrated coal deposits, and once you hit 80 you can mine the gold deposits. There is a bank box down there as well so you can deposit everything you mine and get right back to it. I've never been down there myself (being F2P) but I understand that it's quite good. Especially once you can mine gold. You can also smelt the gold for smithing levels (using the goldsmithing gloves is best) and then sell the bars on the G.E. Good luck with your goals. I look forward to reading about your adventures.
  22. Um, you do, of course, realize that as our county's government pretty much everything they do affects us in some way or another. Perhaps not immediately or even directly, but it does. That kind of attitude is a big part of why our voter turn out gets lower every election.
  23. Lolz. Can you imagine Stephen Harper and Michael Ignatieff on the lawn in front of the Peace Tower? It would certainly make politics more interesting.
  24. Why is it P2P'ers continue to declare that "F2P is a demo"? If you took all, and I mean *all*, of the member's content out of the game it would stand on it's own and still be great. Despite what you might think, Jagex's official stance is that P2P is merely an expansion. And what of the suggestion to give F2P larger, "boss", monsters? This isn't just about whether or not F2P should have Dragon Meds, it's about adding new content to the free game without expending time and money developing entirely new creatures or items. Personally, I think it's a great idea. F2P combat has been stagnating for a while now and is in serious need of updating (although, admittedly, the Strongholds of Security and Safety were excellent additions).
