It's not the cost so much as the speed at which the Xp can be gained. I think Herblore has the edge on Runecrafting in that respect. Somewhat slow...? Try mind numbing suicidal slow. Also Runecrafting doesnt seem to be the most profitable noncombat skill anymore, not to mention combat activities being more profitable than RC is now. RC now has much less incentives for people to train. Once you're able to craft multiple runes RC can be quite profitable (in F2P at least). Unfortunately it is, as you said, mind-numbingly slow and that is a big obstacle for people.

Does the kanji at the bottom say "bacon"? :blink: It might. Unfortunately I, like Bruce Willis in The Fifth Element, "only speak two languages, English and bad English." :lol: However, I did see another pic while looking for that one that had Spanish subs that mentioned "bacon". Maybe there's no kanji for "spam". That's a great idea. I might just do that.

I really like the Christmas one, but I'm not sure about the Halloween one. I think something more in line with the holiday would be better. Perhaps an item that makes you look like you're wearing a sheet as a ghost costume. :-k Maybe a hat, so you would have to put the sheet "over your head" in order to wear it?

Respectfully, I have to disagree. Your assertion that the updates this year have been focused on "fairly minor things", while well presented, seems to indicate that updating the non-combat skills is a waste of time. A great number of players do not focus on combat skills, and these updates seemed aimed more towards them. Mining especially needed to be updated with more than simply another mining location with the same old rocks in it. The Living Rock Caverns has, finally, brought Mining to a comparable level with the other gathering skills, and the Dragon Pickaxe added a long overdue upgrade to the skill's available tools. I've always felt that Jagex was focusing too much on combat related updates, and even though I'm not able to take advantage of this year's updates I think that it is an excellent step forward to show that non-combat skills make up an equally important role in the game.

The living rock caverns gave a lot of higher level miners a reason to start up again. rapid Xp + profit = renewed motivation to train
