*ahem* SAILING!!!! :twss: Okay, now that that's out of the way, I'm hoping the new skill is ready to go in 2010. That way we'll have 2 years to master it before the end of the world. :P

I can't believe how busy I've been the past couple of weeks. Between working 12-14 hour days, trying (and not always succeeding) to find time to buy gifts, traveling to see family, and everything else the season entails, I've had almost no time to myself (I'm actually hiding in the bathroom right now. *shhh* :-$ ). This also means I've next to no time for RS (so much for level 95 by Friday) or even Tip.It. :wall: My mining has suffered tremendously, and aside from the odd post here and there I've been much more quiet in the forum lately. I wouldn't mind it so much if I wasn't so doggone tired... Oh, and last weekend we went out of town to visit my gf's mom and dad and brothers. I accidentally left my laptop in the car (my ex has the car during the week when she has the boys and I have to take everything I want out of my work truck when I pick them up) and brought it into her mom's place for the night because I didn't want to leave it out in the cold. I went to use it for a bit and she got upset saying that we were there to visit, not to go on the internet. A reasonable statement and I felt kind of bad about it, but then she spent half the freakin' night on her Blackberry messaging people and, get this, checking messages on the forums she's a part of! :x Really?? I love her and all, but I wasn't very pleased (neither was her mom, who felt she was ignoring everyone else). Oh well. At least I was able to get the Christmas event done this afternoon. I really like doing the events and this one was fun. I really like the ghost costume, and my boys thought blowing kisses at Scourge was hilarious! :lol: I'm hoping to make a nice little animated .gif with the spinning glitch before they take it away. *sigh* Okay, back to it. There's a ton of presents to wrap and the kitchen looks like a bomb went off. I'd better get going. As this will most likely be my last blog post before Friday, MERRY CHRISTMAS TIP.IT! Cheers.

If you're choosing to keep wearing member's items after your membership has expired, then you've imposed a restriction upon yourself. If you didn't completely think that restriction through, that's hardly Jagex's fault.

Can anyone else confirm this? Because it seems like a dirty move on Jagex's part, especially after they scrapped their plans to make skill capes re-weildable on F2P. This seriously ticks me off. Last year was my glory ammy, I could accept that. But 2 years in a row, and this being such a key item removed.... You do have to take your cape off. The imp says you don't look very much like a ghost with it on. That makes sense. Jagex probably wasn't thinking of non-members with skillcapes when they wrote it.

All of my money lately has come from G.E. merching. No, not through price manipulation (although there is some debate as to whether or not any level of merching is manipulation) but through day-to-day buying and selling. I do it as honestly as possible. At least as honestly as any merchant can be. :lol:

I'm torn between the Mining and rest/run changes. The Living Rock Caverns and Dragon Pickaxe brought renewed interest and much needed changes to one of RuneScape's oldest skills; while the rest/run update made getting around easier for all players, free and members alike, and made the training of some skills (F2P Mining in particular) much more bearable.

I agree. I've seen players try to excuse merchanting/merchanting clans as noble while demonising price manipulators when they're in effect doing the same thing. Why would you have many players forming a merchanting clan? Simple they all have the same objective of making a profit so therefore they're in cahoots with each other. Its price manipulation but with a more acceptable badge on it and if players are saying price manipulators are bad than so are merchants. Personally I couldn't care less about either as I'm here to play a RS as a game not some stock market simulation. I have to disagree with you on this, although you both have struck on something I had not considered: Does everyone think that all merchanting clan members, intentional manipulators or not, all group together to purchase large quantities of the same items? Is this the root of the animosity towards us? In response to that, I have to say that not all merch clans (at least not mine anyway) operate in this fashion. Personally, I can rarely ever buy any of the items my clan mates have recommended because the really good stuff, like always, is member's only. We mostly do what I refer to as "day trading", wherein we buy what we can in 24hrs and then flip it right away (rares and high priced items excluded of course, those are purely long-term speculation). We're not having everyone buy for a week and then dump to make profit. I also have trouble believing that if I buy 100k of raw tuna one day and sell it the next that it's going to drastically affect the price, especially as I almost never buy/sell at min or max. I buy a little below mid, sell a little above and make a smaller amount of profit faster and more consistently. As to whether or not I want the price of what I bought to go up, of course I do but I'm not encouraging the others in my clan to buy as much as possible to try and raise it another couple of gp.

Mousekeys should not be illegal. Mousekeys are no more of an advantage than the ability to play for 10 hours a day. It may seem like someone using either one of those things has an unfair advantage over those who don't or can't, but the fact is that the player still has to be at the computer manually sending commands to the game. It's not like using mousekeys allows you to send one command and have it drop all the ore (or whatever) for you, they just allow you do do it more efficiently. Unfortunately, Jagex has banned people who are using mousekeys (Dutch Please got a one month ban the other day). The question is, are they being banned for mousekeys or because the speed of the mousekeys is tricking the system into thinking you're using a macro or bot?
