  1. 40k exp/hour? How is that possible? I can only get about 35k exp/hour at most! :o Actually, it was just over 36k/hour. Easily done on a 1400+ world and mining three rocks. Two rocks seems to cap out at about 35k, but I've gotten as much as 38k on three. I'm not sure if 40k/hour is even possible in F2P. I started with Maple logs at first, then alternated between rune essence and pure essence. Right now it's raw tunas, but they've been spiking the last few days (+19 since Sunday) so I might wait for them to start going back down again. :-k
  2. yeah that dragon is pretty cool looking i hope they bring a more permanent dragon into the game that looks like that Indeed. Ice Dragons FTW! I'm looking forward to this event. I really liked the reward last year (all cynicism about price manipulation aside) and I'm hoping that this year's reward is something festive I can wear along with it, but I'm not holding my breath. Perhaps last year's storyline wasn't completely "Christmas themed", but having to thaw out a frozen Santa Claus was pretty cool.
  3. Nice! Gratz on the levels.
  4. Go man go! You're a mining machine! Good luck with granite. At this rate you'll make 85 by Christmas with no problems. You're lucky to be done school for the holidays. I get a couple of days off work at Christmas and a couple at New Year's but that's it.
  5. Wow! 13 levels in 6 days? Keep up the good work! Is your dad still on a tear about the amount of internet time? I hope you're not going to lose your access for the holidays. You wouldn't want to miss out on the Christmas event! Also, I just noticed today that you're a member of MESORS. I've been thinking of joining them myself. Did you just join? What are they like?
  6. Stayed home sick today, but I was feeling better this afternoon and was able to get over 110k Xp in a little under three hours! Only 470k to go until level 95! I've also been making great progress with my merching. I started back in August with the ultimate goal (read: pipe dream) of a White Partyhat. It's been a good couple of weeks and I've made over 2M in less 10 days. Daily profits are growing, and if I keep having this kind of success I'll hopefully be making another million every day or two by the end of the month. Okay, that's enough bragging for now... [hide=...well, maybe just a little more ] [/hide] If I remember correctly, I started with just under 1M and added about 500k of mined gold in the beginning for some added capital. Finally reaching 10M feels pretty good! The merching also adds a nice break to the monotony of mining. Speaking of mining, what is up with all the bots lately? I've been seeing them in Rimmington nearly every day. One guy today chased me around the three rocks I usually mine for over an hour (and only got about 10 of them in that time) before walking off to the side and cursing at me. He also stopped every 28 rocks (I counted) for about 20 seconds before starting again. How obvious of a bot is that? Firstly, who chases someone for over an hour without getting any ores? A few minutes and then leaving when you're obviously losing, sure. But an entire hour??? And what is with stopping every 28 rocks? Can't the bot tell when there's actually items in the inventory? I just hope this isn't the first sign of a new wave of bots running through RS. *deep breath* Okay rant over. I'm hoping I can make 95 Mining by Christmas. I'm also hoping this year's event will give us another piece of clothing to go with last year's Santa outfit, but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe I'll just buy a Santa Hat when I get enough cash.
  7. I stayed home sick from work today. :( And wouldn't you know it, the forum was down most of the day! :wall: At least RS was up and running. I really hate this time of year. I always get sick a couple of times right at the start of the season when it's cold and snowing. Oh well, that's what I get for having a job where I work outside all day long I guess. Unfortunately, because I'm sick I haven't had time, or energy, to shovel my driveway and it's been snowing for two freakin' days! If it hadn't been for my neighbor using his snow blower to remove the plow block from the end of my driveway, without being asked I might add, I wouldn't have been able to go to the store this afternoon and I would have had nothing to eat for dinner but three hot dogs and a couple of slices of cheese. :? Hopefully I won't get sick again until after New Year's. My work is closed for 6 out of 10 days the last two weeks of this month, and I need all the hours beforehand I can get. On a positive note, this means that my boys are going to be staying with me for both of those weeks and my gf is going to watch them while I'm at work. I love having them around. <3: Two days a week really isn't enough (although I do talk to them every night before bed). I don't know how my dad went two weeks without seeing, or speaking to, my brother and I when we were younger. I really think that's a big part of the reason I don't really talk to him anymore. Okay, enough sappy remembrances an absentee father. I'm feeling much better than I was this morning and hopefully I'll be able to go to work tomorrow. Wait...did I just say I wanted to go to work? I must be sicker than I thought... Oh, I also added a couple of new blocks to the blog and rearranged the existing ones. What does everyone think? Is it too crowded? Not crowded enough? Opinions? Comments? Dirty jokes? French toast? (I know a wonderful recipe ;) ) Cheers.
  8. Happy birthday! Chocolate cake is very much win indeed. =P~
  9. I'm a lover, not a fighter. Seriously though, my levels are 50att/52def/50str/51hp/40range with an overall combat level of 63. They're higher than a couple of my skilling levels, but with the popularity of combat in RS, you pretty much need levels of 60+ in order to be ranked. I've never focused very much on my combat levels outside of being able to wear armor, wield my beloved picks <3: and complete the Dragon Slayer quest. Besides, at 63 combat I'm too low to be attacked by level 110 Revenants when I'm Runite mining. ;-) Once I'm done with my skilling goals I'll probably start training them again, but having all of my skills ranked isn't very important to me right now.
  10. If I might respond... 1. Terrorists do not discriminate when it comes to who they attack (suicide bombing of school buses anyone?). Blowing up the Parliament Buildings of a large, industrialized western nation would be a major coup and bring untold attention from the rest of the world. Not 9/11 level attention perhaps, but you see my point. 2. The fact that they were "just protesters" isn't the point. No one should have had enough freedom to get up there in the first place. We're talking about the seat of our government. The response of security personnel shouldn't be adjusted according to the people involved. If someone is not supposed to be in an area, they should be removed immedately. *Not* after they've had a chance to try and make whatever point it is they're trying to get across. The actions of these "protestors" (I say "protesters" because there are proper ways to go about holding protests on Parliament Hill) have exposed an incredibly troubling hole in the security of of our govenment officials. One that if not rectified could very well be exploited by people with a much more sinistar agenda next time. ...and I did admit that I might have been a bit harsh in my original posting. One should never post while angry.
  11. It looks like body tiaras give comparable xp to earth runes if you're using gloves, but would cost a whole lot more. Body talismans currently cost 614gp, tiaras cost 20, and body tiaras sell for 20. You'd be losing 614gp per tiara. Rune essence costs 63 and earth runes sell for 29. At your level you craft 3 earths per ess, and could make a profit of 24gp per ess while making the same (if not more) xp per hour. I don't know how quickly earth runes sell, but making profit while training is never bad.
  12. Woot! Made an easy 55k Xp last night in between pump software updates and moving systematically around the site. I'm now over 27% of the way to level 95! Nerdboy if you're still looking for a Scrubs Christmas avatar, check it out...Scrubs Grinch. It's a huge pic (couldn't find a smaller one, sorry) so I won't post it here. Just resize it and you're all set.
  13. Actually, that's the only free quest I still haven't done. If you want, PM me and we can arrange it.
  14. If you're wanting xp more than gp than you won't be doing much Runite mining. It's very slow (like 3500 xp/hr slow). That said, I understand that mining gold in the living rock cavern can get you something like 50k xp/hr and you can bank all your ores! It's a little slower than powermining granite, but much more profitable. btw: congrats on 62 Mining. 7 levels in under a week! =D>
  15. It seems like a dream, but I'm actually being paid to make today's blog entry! As some of you may, or may not, know I fix gasoline pumps for a living. (No, really. I have a license and everything.) I'm currently upgrading pump software on a site and there's a lot of downtime where I do nothing but watch my laptop upload the new versions. The whole job will take about 3-4 hours and I get paid for the whole thing! So here I am bragging to rest of you ( ) and I'm going to go on RS and continue with my, and I'm sure your, favorite skill: Mining! This almost makes up for the crappy, snowy day it's been. Now I like snow as much as the next person, but when you work outside in it all day it starts to wear on you. Oh well, I get to sit in my nice, warm truck for the next few hours and let the laptop do all the work. Oh, I also updated my avatar for Christmas. da Vinci I ain't. Just a little Christmas cheer courtesy of MS Paint. Cheers.
  16. *deep breath* Ahhhh.... Okay. I've had a smoke, fixed a pump (not at the same time of course ;) ) and I'm thinking a little less angrily about this. I think I'm less upset that protesters climbed on top of the Parliament Buildings to put up a banner, than I am at the fact that anyone at all could have come in in the middle of the night and have that much freedom to move about in the first place. It's not like this was setup ahead of time and they got permits and had security overseeing them or anything. Don't get me wrong. I've got no problem with people protesting (it happens all the time on Parliament Hill, in fact), but no one should be able to sneak onto the Hill in the middle of the night and be able to move about at will. As a bit of context to this whole mess, right now there are 18 accused terrorists on trial in Toronto for planning several large-scale bombings in a 9/11 style attack (see here and here). Maybe I'm overreacting, but at the very least this should bring into light the lax security measures practiced by the RCMP around Parliament Hill and hopefully bring forth some serious changes to the way things are done. ...and admittedly the hanging thing might have been a bit much  ...
  17. Those are the only two I know of. There used to be one in Al-Kharid (way back in the day) but they moved one of the rocks. I wish F2P still had a three-rock iron triangle... :(
  18. Nice! I'm going to have to try this.
  19. Greenpeace activists scale roof of Parliament Buildings      How was this allowed to happen? Parliament Hill is the seat of the Canadian Government. I've done work up there and no one, not even the MPs or Prime Minister himself, gets in without being checked by the RCMP. So how in the *bleep* did anyone manage to get onto the roof of one of the buildings with anything, let alone a package the size of a giant banner? And why are they being allowed to stay up there? Why haven't the RCMP's, or Ottawa Police's for that matter, tactical squads rushed up there and arrested these people? How can such a horrible disregard for the safety of our government officials be allowed to continue? What if instead of Greenpeace, this had been a terrorist organization and they had brought bombs up there? How does the RCMP let this happen? Do you really think the Secret Service would allow this kind of thing to happen to the White House? I'm so angered by this blatant breach of the security of my country's leaders, I can hardly type properly. I really hope whoever let them up there is brought up on charges and thrown in windowless cell for the rest of their life. :-k Do they still hang people for treason?
  20. Check out Kuradel - The New Slayer Master? over in general discussion. They've been talking about her for a couple of days now.
  21. Woot! Congrats! =D> 59 Mining and 1400 total. Well done. Keep it up and you'll be mining Runite in no time.
  22. Not bad, eh? A little MS Paint cheer for Christmas.
  23. OMG, I can't wait for the next entry. You certainly have a flair for the descriptive. =D>
  24. Well, it's (almost) the end of the weekend and I've managed about 150k Xp since Wednesday. Not quite the 200k+ I was aiming for, but good nonetheless. My real mistake was trying to have a couple of beers while mining last night. Now, it may be difficult to be too drunk to fish but it's very easy to be too drunk to mine. Or at least be too tipsy to be able to focus properly on mining. I gave up after about an hour (and three Alexander Kieth's). I still got about 650k Xp to go until level 95. I'm hoping I can get there by Christmas. Also, I'm announcing the launch of my new blog! :twss: I'm going to continue with this one, of course, and I'll be using the other for more of the day to day stuff you all love reading about. So I'll basically have a RS blog and a RL blog (but there will probably be some cross-over, I'm kind of lazy like that). I hope everyone continues to read and enjoy both!
  25. Kaida23 posted a blog entry in Kaida23's Blog
Welcome blog addicts, to the first entry in my new blog! Pull up a chair and get comfortable. Can I offer you some milk and cookies? This will be much more day-to-day than my RS blog, full of the pointless happenings in my life that I'm sure all of you love reading about. For instance: today I worked on creating a new blog in the Tip.It forums. Betcha didn't see that coming, eh? I also spent a great deal of time getting the wonderful animated .gif to the left working properly. A big thanks to Toast647 and his awesome guide (found here). <3: Now I just need to find a recording program that uses up less RAM than Camtasia. It took several tries to make it as every time I activated the recorder, RS slowed to a crawl and I was only seeing/recording half the animations. And of course, the first few tries I practically one-hit the addy so I had to jump worlds and try again... :wall: But now I must go, faithful reader. The duties of hearth and home call me forth once more (read: if I don't get off the computer right now, my girlfriend is going to throw something at me). Ah, the excitement in my life just never ends. Cheers.
