POLL: Jagex Twitter
Never. I don't use twitter at all. Maybe that, or "WTF is twitter anyways" as lordkafei suggested, should have been one of the choices.

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges Against a Captured Most-Wanted Charges
Well, which is it? One minute you're saying for certain that they didn't obey the law, and the next you're questioning the source of the news report. Don't get me wrong, I don't trust Fox News any further than I could throw a car (I discussed Fox's less than stellar reporting practices back on, I think, page 2), but you can't automatically assume that the SEALs actually did this based off of one person's complaint and one news report. Or: C) He did it to himself while in custody and then accused the SEALs. It wouldn't be the first time, you know. Everyone is quick to bring up laws and justice (one person even brought up the U.S. constitution) and begin sharpening pitchforks and lighting torches over this. Here's a founding ideal of the justice system no one has thought to bring forth yet (at least not in so many words): "Innocent until proven guilty". *Not* the other way around. Let's not all be so quick to condemn these men just yet. Of course, when you consider the source of the news report, this event may not have even taken place...

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges Against a Captured Most-Wanted Charges
Some of those bombs kill civilians and really shouldn't be done. Really, to them America is looking pretty terroristy probably. Torture of prisoners? Check. Killing of civilians? Check. Invading their country? Check. Crazy [cabbage] like Abu Ghraib? Check. Some of those bombs kill civilians because some of those terrorists set themselves up in civilian areas trying to use the civilians as a shield. In a war, civilians are often collateral damage. It's a sad, unavoidable fact. How many innocent French civilians died while the Allies were trying to remove the Nazi's during WWII? Did/do the French look upon England or America as "terrorists"? No, of course not. The unfortunate realities of war have been dimmed by two, and in some countries three , generations of people who have not had to witness such things and only read about them in history books. The vast majority of people today haven't the slightest comprehension of what war is actually like, myself included. Men like Churchill and Roosevelt, who could make tough decisions for the good of not only their countries, but the world, no longer exist. Now public opinion and approval ratings are what drive political decisions. The SEALs accused of this crime will most likely be prosecuted, defended and judged by men who have never seen battle. Does that seem right?

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges Against a Captured Most-Wanted Charges
Don't misunderstand, military personnel have judicial rights, it's just that military judicial rights and civilian judicial rights are not always the same. If they were then there would be no need for Military Police, the Army's Criminal Investigation Command or the Judge Advocate General's Corps and all military crimes could be tried in civilian courts.

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges Against a Captured Most-Wanted Charges
Actually, right now all there is is an accusation. There's no proof that anyone actually hit this man. All we have to go on is a minor injury, that could have easily been self-inflicted, while, possibly, in custody. Country, perhaps; but we're dealing with the military here. Soldiers, and admittedly sometimes their prisoners, are not always afforded the same judicial rights as civilians.

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges Against a Captured Most-Wanted Charges
I don't know if I would agree that anyone is given a responsibility to break the law. That being said, certain groups like the military, and in particular specialist groups like the Navy SEALs or British SAS, certainly exist to fill a role in the world that the majority of us do not, and hopefully will never have to, understand. The existence of these groups help, in no small way, to protect those of us who cannot, or will not, fight and allows the world as we know it continue to function. Just imagine what would happen if we did not have elite, specially trained units ready to protect the very freedoms we take for granted (such as debating/arguing about this kind of thing at all). Personally, I'm glad they're out there fighting to protect my, admittedly slothful, way of life.

Bots making true players look bad
just a note: you cant report somone for botting just because they didnt answer back, many people have public off while training True, not responding doesn't always mean a bot. But if they're always moving in the same, predictable pattern while not responding there's a good chance it might be. I see it all the time in the Mining guild (mining coal to superheat loads of addy or mith gives you lots of time to notice odd behavior) .They move in the same two or three patterns and then run off to the same spot by the ladder and simply stand there for a while before going up. If it only happened once in a while it would be less suspicious, but every time? I'm sure the same kind of thing happens during woodcutting as well.

Bots making true players look bad
I feel your pain, brother. This happens to me all the time. I'm accused of botting my way to 94 Mining almost every day, especially because I'm F2P. Try not to let it get to you. Let the more immature and foolish bot their way to the top. They'll spend the entire time worrying that they'll try to log in one day only to find they've been banned and that 99 they broke the rules to get will be gone. You know you did it the right way. It doesn't matter what others think. Wear your Hunter cape with pride! Congratulations, btw =D> .

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges Against a Captured Most-Wanted Charges
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that quote comes from the U.S. Constitution. Even though we're talking about an alleged crime perpetrated by Americans, it was not in America or even against another American. Also, military law does not always abide by the tenets set down in the Constitution. Does that give anyone the right to hit prisoners? Of course not. It simply means that one country's rule of law cannot be rigidly applied to the rest of the world. Imagine if someone tried to apply Saudi Arabia's laws in North America...

Quick question (doesnt regard runescape)
Are carnivorous zebras bred in the same spooky castle as the venomous ducks? If so, we might need some torches and pitchforks... :ohnoes:

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges Against a Captured Most-Wanted Charges
Hm. I guess we're not reading the same link. Go read it again, before you make blatant accusations with no grounds. I'm sorry, I guess we're not. Which accusations did I make with no grounds? The article seemed to confirm all of them. 1. Over-sensationalized - It was headline freakin' news! 2. Poorly researched - the very fact that it was a complete lie seems to support that. Not to mention Glen Beck's admission that they "haven't been even able to confirm from the state of California whether Tresa's husband from 10 years ago was killed, or if he's dead, or if she even had a husband." And yet, they still ran the story. 3. Lowest common denominator - prostitutes? murder? caught on tape? This seems like it could have been taken from an episode of The Jerry Spinger Show That wasn't news, it was a ratings grab. Now we're supposed to believe this same "news" outlet that a SEAL allegedly beat up a prisoner while in custody? You'll forgive me for being skeptical.

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges Against a Captured Most-Wanted Charges
Unfortunately, we, being the "good guys", have to follow proper rules of warfare. That includes not mistreating prisoners, regardless of what they have done or how they would have treated us were the positions reversed. With what demographics does it have a bad reputation? Liberals? Well obviously, I mean you should see the bad reputation CNN and MSNBC have with Conservatives. I was referring to the journalistic community as a whole, and not referring specifically to Fox News' obvious Conservative slant (overtly leaning one way or the other is a bad position for any news agency). Their stories are over-sensationalized, poorly researched, and aimed at the lowest common denominator of T.V. viewers. They're kind of like the National Enquirer , but with a little bit less lying. I think this supports my previous statement nicely: Fox News reports fake murder story from ACORN video as fact

Wearable skill capes in F2P ~ 90 supporters ~
This is from Boxerbabe23's sister topic in RSOF: Might this mean that this is currently in the works? Also, Boxerbabe's topic is receiving a lot of support (currently 496 supporters), so much so that she had to start over because the first one hit the post limit. I'm hopeful that the implementation of this idea will be coming sooner instead of later.

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges Against a Captured Most-Wanted Charges
You have to remember that the only person saying this man was assaulted *after* he was in custody is him. The Canadian government is going through something similar right now, where reports of beating up terrorist prisoners were coming from other terrorist prisoners. It is a common ploy by prisoners to get their captors in trouble. I think that's it's much more likely that the supposed "assault" was nothing more than the SEALs simply trying to subdue him while in the process of capturing him. It's unlikely that he simply surrendered to them, and I'm sure he, and anyone around him, put up a fight. There are international regulations set down by the U.N., among others, regarding the treatment of prisoners of war. If these men are guilty of assaulting a prisoner after he was securely in custody, then they will be punished. However, they cannot be judged guilty with nothing more than one person's accusation, and certainly not before they have even gone to trial. Why would the news place matter? News is news it has to be true or else it would be illegal. Generally, the news source doesn't matter, but Fox News doesn't have the greatest journalistic reputation. Besides, reported news is supposed to be checked and verified but that isn't always the case. Often, news agencies are so busy trying to get stories out that they are not looked into properly.

dragon pickaxe and prayer question
The price will definitely go down. It's only up in the stratosphere right now because it's still a fairly new item. The only other Dragon items worth over a couple of mil are the platebody, full helm and claws, and the pickaxe isn't exactly a PvP item. I see it, eventually, stabilizing down in the 2-5m range like the Dragon hatchet. But that might take a while.
- 900 total =).

Kaida23's Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero!
Fear not, loyal readers. For, while I have been away from our beloved RuneScape for several weeks (or is it months at this point?), I am returned! The horrible, often anti-RS, thing called "life" had once again dragged me away kicking and screaming, but I have come back to the warm embrace of all that is pixelated. <3: Also, I bring most momentous news of my travels: I have reached yet another milestone! [hide=Level 94! Woot!][/hide] Is excellent, no? Now, some of you long-time readers will notice that I'm not in my usual place in Rimmington. That's because I've found that since the agility update (which at first I was pretty upset with as my plan for the month of membership was to get my Agility as high as I could) I've been able to mine much more efficiently on these three rocks. I can do this because they're close enough together that I can not only keep running while I mine, but I can actually recover run energy while I do it! I had actually tested that spot back when I started this blog and decided not to use it as my run energy kept depleting, and while it regenerated I could only walk, which would slow down my mining considerably. This may not seem exciting at first, and I'm sure most of you have already discovered this, but it has allowed me to get (in f2p, remember) over 30k Xp an hour almost regardless of how populated the world is! What's that you say? "Impossible"? "You're crazy"? "When's lunch"? No, really. Today I got 17,878 Xp in just 30 minutes, over 35k an hour, on a world with just over 900 people in it! Last week I got just over 30k in an hour on a world with just over 700 people in it! Gone are the days of having to either fight for two rocks next to each other on nearly full worlds or settle for 20k an hour on an emptier world. This has made my mining much easier to bear, I must admit. There's something depressing about drop-mining iron for an hour and only getting 20k Xp out of it. Also, I have to admit that I'm extremely jealous of the Living Rock Caverns update. It has long been my position that Mining needed a major change to bring it on par with the other resource-gathering skills. Mining being one-swing, one-ore (with the exception of Rune Essence, of course) always seemed to me like someone dropped the ball. Now high-level miners can enjoy the same one-swing, full load as other gathering skills. I don't like that fact that it's members only, but understand that if something like this was given to everyone then the flood of coal and gold into the economy would be disastrous. Not to mention the outcry from members and old-school miners alike. For now, I shall look at the Cavern longingly from afar, and take solace in the fact that Mining has received a major change for the better. Well done, Jagex. Well done. =D>

Belgian man was in a coma for 23 years... Or was he?
You're thinking of The Dead Zone, except in that one the guy woke up completely mobile. Good story, *very* creepy movie. I'm actually amazed that this guy didn't go completely insane. They could have hooked up that machine and gotten nothing but incoherent gibberish. What would they have done then? Just take him off the machine again? Euthanasia? This whole story raises all kinds of ethical/legal questions.
