Now we are so happy, we do the dance of joy!- Mom starves kids
Ummm I'm pretty sure that that phrase isn't true, nor found anywhere in the Bible. I don't know about it being true or not, but I certainly heard "the good lord helps those who help themselves" a lot when I was a kid. Also, I'm pretty sure the 18 year old wouldn't be charged with child endangerment as they were not the one responsible for the other children. OT: It sounds like this woman's belief that God would provide for her family is the same (I believe to be flawed) logic applied by followers of Christian Science believing that prayer and faith will heal their bodies. I have no problem with belief or faith, I do have a problem when people like this take it to a ridiculous extreme. People should not be allowed to do absolutely what-the-*bleep*-ever they want and then hide behind a religious belief (recent Muslim "honor killings" anyone?).- Kaida23's Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero!
Currently, I'm 330k Xp from leveling up. Yes, a mere 10 hours (give or take) from level 95 in my beloved Mining. I feel very confident that I can achieve this new level of excellence by Christmas. If I can continue to average a hour a day, then I may just achieve my ultimate goal by Easter. But lets not get ahead of ourselves. Many an iron ore is left to be mined and many, many swings of the pick remain before me yet.- Count to ~200~ before a mod posts - fifth round
Dag. :wall: Oh, well... 1.- Pass The Cheese (Now on TIF)
I taser abc while he's washing his hands and take the cheese. I then run away giggling like a maniac...- Rating Avatars Game
7/10 for having an awesome mustache and memorable avatar!- Count to ~200~ before a mod posts - fifth round
33.- The 'You're Banned' Game (over 38,000 banned!)
Banned for being a hypocrite.- 70 cooking :D
Very nice! And welcome to TIF. Always good to see a fellow canuck. But, why wait until 85 to post again? You should add some more info though; about yourself, your character, what you want to accomplish. We're nosy SOBs and want to peer into the minutiae of your life.- [bleep]
O.M.G! A *very* big congrats! The final goal is in sight. Surely Mining Godhood will be yours for the taking, my friend. Will you be having a party so that we might all spam the screen with randomness in celebration of your great achievement?- I hurt myself
Ouch indeed. I hope she was understanding about the whole "waking-her-up-screaming-in-pain-while-bleeding-on-the-floor" thing. Something similar happened to me back when I was dating my ex-wife. Same late-night bathroom visit beginning, but I tripped over her dog and took a header down the stairs. I didn't break anything, but I knocked myself out cold and woke up to her and her mother standing over me. Even worse, it turns out knocking yourself out *before* going to the bathroom has, um, predictable consequences. She still teases me about it every so often. On the up side, aren't you glad it only takes one hand to work the mouse? Try to enjoy your time recuperating and RS'ing (and "flying" of course  ). I hope you feel better soon.- Why?
Actually the people who buy low and sell high are merchants. This does not however mean they are people specifically attempting the manipulation of one or a group of predetermined items. Quelmotz' point is well taken though. People do refer to price manipulation clans and merchant clans interchangeably without making the proper distinction. I'm a member of a group of similarly-minded merchants (not sure if we consider ourselves a "clan" though...) who enjoy the challenge of being merchants in RS without forcing prices up or down so that a handful of us can profit while giving everyone else the shaft. Although, admittedly, we've taken advantage of a manipulation dump and waited for the natural rebound to make some profit. That's hardly manipulating the price of an item to ridiculous levels (anyone remember air tallys at nearly 4x the usual price back in October?) in order to profit from everyone else.- Count to ~200~ before a mod posts - fifth round
31.- Tip.it Times 13 December 2009
Indeed. I read, and re-read, that sentence several times trying to decipher it before simply moving on (especially since the font the Tip.It Times is written in makes "meeI" look like "meel"). Both articles were otherwise well written and a good read. I agree with Rachya that the removal of the BTS feature and replacing it with the Developer's Diaries/Blogs was a good move by Jagex.- Sonic - rip blogging
Would that be irony or poetic justice?- A Christmas Warble - 11-Dec-2009
This will certainly be something really worthwhile. Gets in the mood of the holidays. Too bad it wont happen. :P It could. They redecorated all the towns (in F2P, at least) for the Halloween event last year.- Duct tape and zip ties
Last night I discovered that Red Green was only partially right; duct tape may be the handyman's secret weapon, but zip ties definitely come in a close second. Yesterday while I was shoveling the rest of my driveway/walkway so that my mom wasn't going to slip and fall while visiting, my gf was doing some laundry and suddenly the washing machine stopped working. So last night, after my mom left of course, I took a look at it. It turned out that she had overloaded it, and when the spin cycle started it shook back and forth so much that the switch that tells when the lid is closed broke off of the frame. :wall: It wouldn't continue the spin cycle because it thought the lid was open all the time. Fortunately, while the part of the switch housing that mounts to the frame was broken, the switch itself was sill working. This led to the question of how to remount it so that it wouldn't fall off again while in use. :-k While my first thought was indeed duct tape, I felt that it wouldn't be secure enough. Then it hit me: zip ties! Two holes drilled into the frame and a large gauge tie later, the switch was held securely in place and the washer is operating properly again. That's right, I fixed a washing machine with nothing more that a freakin' zip tie! :twss: I don't mean to brag, but even I'm pretty impressed with that. I can only imagine how much it would have cost if had called a repairman, but knowing what I have to charge my customers it makes me shiver just to think about it. :ohnoes: I guess all that time I spent as a kid building Lego sets and taking apart the vacuum (yes, I really did that  ) finally came in handy. Goodness I used a lot of emoticons today, didn't I? Until next time, blog fanatics! Cheers. **Kaida23, Tip.It, and anyone else you might think to blame assume no responsibility for damages, lost sanity or angry spouses should you be foolish enough to attempt anything described in today's blog. Remember: I'm not a trained professional, and neither are you.**- Soldiers - Heroes?
I agree with y_guy. Soldiers are indeed heroes. They, along with police and fire personnel, put their lives in jeopardy so that lazy shlubs like me don't have to, and help to provide the very freedom we all enjoy while debating the necessity of their very existence. Like Jack Nicholson said in A Few Good Men: "...we live in a world that has walls and those walls need to be guarded by men with guns...my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives."- Pure F2P Goals & Achievements
Wow. Just wow. That's the kind of account I hope mine is one day. Pure F2P just makes it all the more awesome! Keep up the great work.- [bleep]
Wow! Nearly 98! Well done! I can imagine that there would be some confusion on what to do after mining for so long, but there's so much to do in RS that you're sure to find something.- .: d[^_^]b nerdboyxxx d[^_^]b :. Account got hacked
Dragon Pick??? I'm very jealous, but that's very awesome! Congrats on 70 Mining, and good luck with granite.- Count to ~200~ before a mod posts - fifth round
12!- A Christmas Warble - 11-Dec-2009
Yeah, they should drop party hats on everyone! "Merry Christmas RuneScape, we've just decimated the upper levels of the economy!" *insert evil, maniacal laugh here*- POLL: How much of an interest do you have in the RuneScape economy?
I am also making all of my money on the G.E. right now so I have a great interest in the RS economy. - Profile Pictures!
