It is with a heavy heart I bring sad news to you all this cold, winter morn. At 4:30am EST this morning an Ottawa Police officer was stabbed while sitting in his cruiser outside of the Civic campus of the Ottawa Hospital. While there are few details being released at this time, it has been reported that he was simply sitting there writing up a report when he was approached by the suspect and was stabbed without warning. Despite the proximity to the hospital, he died an hour later. The attacker was subdued and held by two nearby paramedics and a couple of bystanders until other officers could arrive. It has since been reported that the slain officer was the father of three children. While I realize that being a police officer comes with certain inherent risks, and, tragically, there are officers killed every day in the line of duty, this is the first time an Ottawa Police officer has been killed while on duty since 1983. This is a horrible tragedy to occur at any time, but to have such a random act of violence happen during the holiday season simply makes it that much worse. As a person with great respect for our officers (I even applied to the OPP when I was younger, but while had sufficient intellectual aptitude I lack the necessary physical qualifications) I feel a great sense of loss today. This man dedicated his life to making my city safer, and was rewarded by being cruelly cut down with no chance to defend himself. Appreciate your families everyone. You just never know if, or when, a tragedy will befall them. I'm going to hug my children that much harder tonight, thankful that I am able to go home and do so. I'm sorry, did we suddenly start talking about a different game? How can the fact that F2P does not have a "boss" monster make it any less viable? This is RuneScape, not WoW or MapleStory. A large portion of the RS population does more than simply fight monsters, and a large portion of that prefer to train non-combat skills.

RuneScape in Guinness World Records! ...um, they announced it when it happened. Jagex's official position is that the free game is the game, while members are paying for an expansion of that. Your assertion that "P2P is now the game" is based upon nothing more than your preference for P2P over F2P.

How can anyone prefer the way buying/selling was done pre-G.E.? I always hated standing around repeating "selling/buying xxx for xxx". How will returning to that increase overall player enjoyment? While there are issues with the G.E. (like everything else in life), I feel that it was a big step forward for the betterment of the game as a whole.

That happens to me sometimes when I use backspace to try and correct something I typed into the chat box and Firefox sees it as a navigation request. I just select "no", click in the screen somewhere (usually my inventory) and it's okay. I've never had it freeze completely on me though

I've been having a similar problem, but it only happens if I click on topics I'm watching from the front page. If I go through "view my posts" and click on them there it works properly.

As much as I'd like to be released as soon as possible, I'm willing to wait a few more months if it helps them get everything right.

My favorite is definitely Mining, followed by fishing and woodcutting My least favorite are the combat skills. I don't really like training combat.

I hate to disagree with you, but do you really think the main reason things like party hats went up so much in price the the manipulation clans? Manipulators buy large quantities of a single item and then dump them to make as much profit as possible in as little time as possible causing a huge spike and then drop in price. Does that seem to be what's happening? The prices for high value rares like party hats have gone up to ridiculous prices due to the incredible amount if gp dumped into the economy by the 76k (or what ever it's called) PVP trick. Because there was such a large influx of disposable income into the game, the demand for, and the price of, highly sought after items went up. Even though it's been "fixed", there is still a large amount of gp flooding into the economy every day from it and will only cause the prices of these items to go up. I hate manipulation clans as much as the next person, but they're hardly responsible for the continuing rise in prices of high-end items.

Greetings blog addicts. Once again, I have returned to enthrall you all with stories of my adventures. Unfortunately, adventures have been few and far between of late. 'Tis a most busy time of year and I've had precious little time to play lately. With 220k Xp left to go, I've fallen a bit short of my goal of level 95 by today. Hopefully I'll be able to make it by the end of the weekend (but I'm not holding my breath). I was able to get on and do the Christmas event though, and with it's completion I learned a new mining skill... [hide=Juggling!!!] [/hide] ...yes, Santa has bestowed upon me knowledge of the ancient art of pickaxe juggling! A most excellent gift, but not the most practical of skills for training with. Still, it's good for impressing people in the G.E. :lol: Seriously though, it's too bad Jagex is planning to correct the glitch after the event is over. It would have been fun do with the skillcape. The event was a lot of fun this year. My boys watched me go through it and we all laughed hysterically when I blew kisses at Scourge! :lol: I really like the ghostly outfit, although it seems more appropriate for Halloween than Christmas. I have to admit though, the hood looks awesome with the Santa outfit from last year. :grin: [hide=the Ghost of Christmas Presents?] [/hide] I've had a lot of people ask where I got, and try to buy (one guy even offered me his trimmed strength ammy), my Santa outfit in the last few days. They've all been very disappointed when they found out where I got it. Maybe I should just buy a Santa hat and start wearing the outfit all year 'round...but then I wouldn't have my Blue Halloween Mask. <3: Speaking of Christmas, I got a most excellent present from my girlfriend: [hide=Woot!][/hide] That's right, all 9 seasons plus the first movie :thumbsup: (why they made a second one 6 years after the last episode aired is beyond me). I'm very excited, I remember watching The X-Files when it first came out (yes, I'm just that old). Although I'm afraid that my mining is going to suffer all the more for this new acquisition of television greatness, I have to admit I'm not all that upset about it.
