  1. I'm a little surprised that Mining is still in the top 5 as it's not only one of the original RS skills, but a F2P one at that.
  2. Awesome! The Xp rates look great. I'm definitely going to use this guide when I start training RC. I was actually kind of surprised that both Air and Earth give comparable rates per hour (although Earth is still a bit higher). Maybe that's why they moved the Air altar... :-k

I was listening to the radio this afternoon and heard another great cover song: "Lovers in a Dangerous Time" performed by Barenaked Ladies, originally by Bruce Cockburn (yes, that's his real name. It's pronounced "co-burn". My uncle went to high school with him)

I like it. Those new plastic Sentinels are wonderfully poseable, aren't they? The red and black is a good color scheme, but the reds seem a bit flat. Maybe it's just the picture, but I'd recommend adding a bit of blazing orange to the red for an extreme highlight on the upper most edges. Also, the large metal areas are rather flat (again, it could just be the picture). Citadel's washes are really good for adding depth. I really like Bedab black and devlin mud for metals. Good luck with the Valkyrie. I'm currently converting one into a Vendetta gunship using lascannons from I.G. heavy weapon squads.
  5. He's in the NW corner of the Rimmington Mine. Too bad Imageshack isn't working for you, you can't see his skillcape and pimpin' hat! <3: Gratz on 57 Mining! =D> I'm glad to see you're enjoying it. Hopefully you still think it's "fun" in another 8-10M Xp . I hope your sinuses are feeling better. I know how awful it feels. I get sinus infections at least once a year. :wall:

Some of my favorite cover songs are: "Rusty Cage" performed by Johnny Cash, originally by Soundgarden "The Ghost of Tom Joad" performed by Rage Against the Machine, originally by Bruce Spinsteen "Smooth Criminal" performed by Alien Ant Farm, originally by Micheal Jackson and of course the classic "All Along the Watchtower" performed by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, originally by Bob Dylan
  7. That happened to me once. Never try to cheat Girl Scouts out of their cookies.
  8. The longest journey begins with a single step, my friend. And this is a long one. I'm glad that my adventures have helped inspire you to take up the pick and train one of RS's hardest skills. Good luck!
  9. It's under "game options" and "graphics settings". It's one of the advanced options.
  10. Me too. It's tres hot! <3:
  11. D'oh! #-o I completely forgot about the musicians...
  12. 97!?!? I'm very jealous. Keep up the great work.
  13. Wow, a fellow Canuck. I'm from Ontario as well. :-D Congrats on 79 Agility. Good luck with the rest of the journey to 99.
  14. A quick mid-day update Mining fans. This morning I crossed the 8,000,000 Xp threshold and am now ranked 6,937th! \:D/

It just goes to show how much you really don't know about the people around you, doesn't it? It's amazing how people can surprise you sometimes. I understand how you're feeling about Mining (I'm 94 Mining myself and just crossed the 8mil Xp mark this morning). Mining can get very tedious very quickly, especially in F2P. If you're getting burnt out with Mining, I'd recommend training another skill for a while. Maybe Fishing or Woodcutting, something that you don't have to keep clicking on so you can chat with others around you.
  16. Indeed you shall. I made 8mil in one weekend mining Runite! It's a lot of work, but what in life worth having isn't? Great progress on your skills so far. You're almost 70 total levels higher than me! =D> BTW - If you're still looking for Runecrafting Xp/hour rates, check out Caro's Guide to Runecrafting. The numbers for the Air altar are most likely wrong though; they're for the old location near Fallador.
  17. Sorry, I've just heard it so often I thought everyone knew what it meant. "Crashing" is a term for when someone comes and steals your spot from you. These people show no respect to other players and only care about themselves. If they want the rocks you're mining, they'll try to take them. Unfortunately, no matter how high your level is once you've gotten your Mining high enough to one-hit iron the person who gets the ore is, generally, the one with the fastest connection. As for whether or not running between three is more effective than standing between two, I personally find it more effective because I can log into an emptier world and still get decent Xp/hour without having to fight off crashers. Two rocks is easier, but there's only a handful of those spots and they're usually full. Maybe you're having better luck with the two-rock spots than I am because of the time difference (you're in China, I'm in Canada) and there's fewer people online when you play. I really hope the two-rock method keeps working for you.
  18. It's the non-holiday themed Thanksgiving event. Check out this thread in the general discussion forum: 26-Nov-09 Thanksgiving & Community Event (UNTIL DEC 7TH) The solution to each day's puzzle is in the first post.
  19. But if you don't have an opinion on anything, then she'll think you don't really care about the wedding and you really *will* be doomed.
  20. Ugh. A week has gone by and I've only managed to mine about 30k worth of Xp. :wall: Definitely not the rate I was going at in the beginning, eh? At least I was able to find some time to go hunting giant turkeys and do the first part of the Thanksgiving event. I've got all of the F2P emotes now. No more kicking myself over missing last year's event. [hide=Best. Emote. Ever.] [/hide] It was my girlfriend's niece's birthday this past weekend, so we went and stayed at my girlfriend's mom's house (everyone follow that okay?) for a couple of days. Her niece and nephew are about the same age as my boys, and they get along really well so everyone had a great time. You haven't seen happy until you've seen a 5-year-old girl opening present after present of Barbies and costume jewelry. The trip out of town meant that I had to wait until Sunday night to complete the 4-day quest. Unfortunately, the forums were down (which as we all know now was caused by too many of us logging in all at once; I love TIF <3: this place is awesome!) and for the life of me I couldn't figure out the 4th set of clues. Especially not at 11:30pm after driving for 4 hours in the pouring rain... So, as ashamed as I am to admit it, I was forced to seek answers elsewhere; which I ultimately found in *gasp* another forum! Don't worry though, I've no mind to leave TIF but I just couldn't wait to finish the quest. [hide=Hmm...it appears to be some kind of wild houseplant.] [/hide] Admittedly, a magnifying glass isn't very Thanksgiving-y but it was still a fun quest with a neat reward. I hope they do something like this again. With a bit of luck I'm hoping to make another 200k Xp or so by the end of the weekend. I really wish that I could have made the kind of consistent Xp/hour I am now back when I was playing 3-4 hours a day...I'd have made level 95 by the end of the week! Oh, well. Anything worth having is worth working for, right?
  21. That's awesome! Although, I am a little surprised that there were no porn-related searches in the top 10.
  22. Wow! A 10th 99? A *very* big congrats! =D> I will definitely do my best to be there!
  23. Sonic, that only works on worlds that are nearly full, and only if someone doesn't try and crash your spot (which they will... :wall: ). With a less populated world, you get lower Xp rates (22k - 25k per hour on a world that's less than half full). As Zaaps1 said, three rocks no more than a couple of steps apart work best. Since the run energy/rest update, you can run back and forth all day without depleting run energy and still make 30k Xp an hour on a world with 700-800 people on it.
  24. Either Rimmington or the Al-Karid mine are best. I average 30k Xp an hour in Rimmington.
  25. A very nice start, Sonic. Can't wait to read the rest of it! =D> I'm especially interested in the Xp/hour rates as I was thinking of training RC once I'm done with Mining (I really pick easy ones, don't I? :wall: ) I have a suggestion, though. When you're taking screenshots and you don't want your private messages to show up, just turn private to "off" for a few seconds and take the pic. The messages will not be displayed, and the pic will look nicer without the lines across it.
