  1. A lot of people try to use that logic, but it's not quite accurate. If one says Runescape is "pointless," then so is football; NFL in the US, soccer in the UK, but both will support my point :) These and other games, such as Runescape, are meant to entertain us, nothing more. Unless you're gambling, which I don't condone, they have no financial or physical effect on your life whatsoever. I will add that I've been on the anti-rares side for a long time, but now I don't really care. I suppose they might help balance the economy, and I guess that's ok. lpinkus
  2. I can't go for any more wilderness than there is now, sorry. But I hear you, Wolf, those "Make Me"-ers can really make runescape annoying, but it's the inspiration of fellow players with decency that keeps me going. lpinkus
  3. Remember, if more backpack space is added, JAGeX has to be very careful about it not unbalancing things. They wouldn't want to add this, realize it's making something way too easy to do, and then say, "Oopsie! Back to the old amount of space!" lpinkus
  4. I know that wasn't directed at me specifically, but if someone accuses me again of wanting a rare but not being able to afford it, I think I'll lose it. If I had any rares, trust me, I'd alch those turkeys faster than you can say Ceril Carnillean. lpinkus
  5. I just thought of a problem with this. If player bones credited more prayer xp than they do now, especially in a higher level/higher xp fashion, players would kill each other on purpose for easy prayer xp. This seems like a good reason JAGeX would not do it. lpinkus
  6. LOL. I was joking about about a power plant being in Falador :) lpinkus
  7. That's been suggested, and even though I'm not a PKer I'm sure PKers would love it for their silly little bragging rights :) lpinkus
  8. Lol. And, black, black is the cheese. lpinkus
  9. I don't think this would be a bad idea, if just for fun, but I'd get annoyed if I could be morphed in the non-wildy. I don't want to be busy woodcutting when some bonehead changes me into a chicken. And what would the animation of a chicken felling a tree look like? lpinkus
  10. You may soon be able to keep your own tanning equipment in your (drum roll) very own player-owned house (fanfare)! Well, maybe :) lpinkus
  11. Heh. "An astoundingly great idea!" "An amazing idea!" Wow, I'm flattered :) But, I have to admit I was really just curious about how people would feel about it. I don't think I'd actually suggest this to JAGeX, but thanks for the opinions. All true, so... a) no mining, or at least not beyond a certain level B) no turning off the "netural" unless you're actually back in the southern non-wild c) no cannons :) lpinkus
  12. I think what your incinuating is that today's news can also be weird, and that's true. I'd take weird news over bad news anytime :) lpinkus
  13. Um, Falador, right? :) lpinkus
  14. Yo. Sorry, I've been on vacation for a week. JAGeX was indeed affecting the prices of d chains in what you recounted, but what they had in mind was making the item difficult enough to obtain. Then, that change goes on to affects the street price. I think"controlling" is a strong word for what seems to be a side effect of JAGeX's actions. Again, I don't think they mind the prices being high, they just want to be sure the items aren't too easy to get. lpinkus
  15. There's another important reason, I assume, that JAGeX does not want to implement guns in the game. Guns are too closely connected with present day violence. Killing a "demon" with a "rune scimitar" is not close to anything you'd read in the paper. The world is sad sometimes, but I think JAGeX does a good job in keeping the Runescape world appropriate for all ages. lpinkus
  16. I agree that JAGeX doesn't want powermining, but I do think saving "clicks" would be a good idea. Here's what I'm getting at: When you make a gold bar into an ammy, you can select "Make 5...make X....etc.," but you still must wait for your character to finish the job. A "drop all" option could be the same way, so you'd have to wait but not click. We all spend a lot of time playing, but it's all the clicking that's bad for the hand. This would be more reasonable, and no one would level up any faster. lpinkus
  17. I read your post about a Stealth Potion, and it makes the wildy more dangerous, not less :) I will reiterate that I find the whole PKing thing curious, not cruel. So, "wimpy" wasn't exactly appropriate. My post was not "I HATz THE WILDRNESS, PEEPLE CAN KIL ME, WAAAAAAH." And yes, treasure trails are supposed to be hard, but it doesn't mean a twelve-year old killing an armorless player is a nice thing to do :) lpinkus
  18. I agree, but that neither supports nor contradicts anything in my topic :) lpinkus
  19. I agree, it isn't a must, but it would make things simpler. And no, you don't have to post... "Make things simpler? This is JAGeX we're talking about!" ...whenever someone says "it would make things simpler" :) lpinkus
  20. The good news is that when it gets suggested for the 178059th time, people will realize that it's a bad idea :) Seriously, what problem do you people have with teleportation? I've seen law runes sell for as cheap as 300gp! lpinkus
  21. They could take the millions they had been saving up and buy herbs, ores, bars, runes, armor, weapons, food.... lpinkus
  22. then all the people who bought them would be ripped out of up to like 20 mil.... I'm sorry to be harsh, but that's the way the cookie crumbles :) Anyone saving up for a phat realizes that it has no actual usefulness in playing RS. If you have 100 whips in the bank and JAGeX gets rid of them, that's another story. lpinkus
  23. I agree with really everything you said, but I also still think they'd like to get rid of them. :) Also, I think you might be accurate in that prices of skill-based sales would increase, but I have no problem with that. That may be because my prime interest in RS is to raise skills, but that's what seems to be the most logical reason to play. I'm sure others would agree. Then again, I could see merchants and buyers agreeing to "even out" the prices, especially since no items would exist in finite quantity any longer. Thanks for your post. lpinkus
  24. Duke, that's interesting about the dragon chain prices. Were changes being made to the frequency of drops, design of the armor, stats of the armor, or something else? I do think JAGeX understands, by the way, that the changes they make will affect the prices and that it is ultimately the merchants who decide. They're still not imposing limits in the game, i.e. it is impossible to trade said item for y gp. They also realize that such items can always be obtained somehow, although with difficulty, so eventually the quantity will increase and the price will fall. I don't think I'd ever complain to JAGeX about this, because a dragon chain has "usefulness," and we've already discussed the definition of that word :) lpinkus
  25. I'm a non-PKer, and I agree Zonorhc . I've only been to the wildy twice in the last year, but teleporting and/or prayer are absolutely within my rights. After all, you weasels can now teleblock me, so what more do you want? :) As far as you clanners go, it seems to me that teleporting and prayer are within a PKer's rights, too, because JAGeX makes up those rights! I also don't understand why you say PK trip crashing is OK but crashing wars is not. Maybe my clan vocab is not perfect, but If JAGeX allows these things, that seems to be the final word. Is one guy running from ore to ore silly? Sure it is, but he got their first, and that is often what matters. lpinkus
