I already said I don't PK :) I guess that may have been lost in the e-translation. Still, no offense taken! I think that's clever, but the special item at X kills may not work; people might kill each other purposely to get the item. There's too much gray area in "something wrong," I'm afraid. I agree, it would prevent a lot of begging and annoying followers, but it's too hard to implement. Wouldn't annoying, existing players start up new free accounts just to hassle the newbies? It would be like Gilligan's Tutorial Island! Some of them would never get off! And, if they never make it off the island, they never finish the free quests, never become members, and never give 5 bucks a month to JAGeX. JAGeX does not want that, I'm sure. Yes, I don't PK, but I find it fascinating. :) lpinkus

I don't really agree, but I understand exactly what you're getting at. I wouldn't say it's less gratifying to level up as the system is now, but it is a different kind of gratification. A *sort of* similar example is, you play for a sports team and have stats on paper, but in the bug pressure moments you get the job done. Another guy has great stats on paper, but always fails in clutch. Two different kinds of gratification. lpinkus

That's part of the duality of using these forums :) Still, I don't care for the idea :) The wild is already nicely separated from the rest of the rs world, so I'll use the ol' "if it ain't broke don't fix it" line. Also, I'm still surprised by PKers saying the wild isn't dangerous enough. I don't PK, so I don't know if that's really true. I would think, tho, that it's the numerous types of protection available that make the wildy too balanced. I don't mean that all the protection is too strong, I'm pointing out the variety. I'm not sure if I got that point across, or if it made a ton of sense :) Whaddaya think PKers? lpinkus

I didn't know about that limit. These forums are probably easier to check up on than every single Runescape world, so it's not that JAGeX wants people to beg, they just have less manpower to police it, I assume. They're more concerned, rightly, that paying members don't get their accounts stolen. These forums are free to join and browse. lpinkus

Wow, I understand you guys like chess, but playing chess within runescape seems to take up a lot of time. And, as we all know, the most important factor in raising gp or any skill in RS is time. For that reason, it seems to me that if the games took less time to play, more poeple would play them. lpinkus

Sooooo...you're retired from RS but not posting in a forum about RS? :) As far as "clan-owned houses," I say "why not?" I don't PK, but if players are going to get houses, I see no reason why clans couldn't. Of course, JAGeX would probably have to start up a system that allows players to organize their clans within RS. lpinkus

I may point more of these out as I come across them. A lot of items have had their art changed, like the limpwurt root, for example. Anyways, I think the maple trees looked much better before. The leaves were much more brilliantly colored before. Not too serious of a discussion, but anyone else agree? I guess I'm also pointing it out becuase I don't think it's necessary for JAGeX to change the art if it looked good in the first place. lpinkus

Hey, I don't mind what race they are, I just don't see JAGeX making a "giant pirate" character. If they make a new, huge enemy to fight, it would be a monster, i.e. demon-ish, dragon-ish, etc., not human. lpinkus

I'm sure he wants them to appear considerably bigger than greater demons and dragons and such. Problem is, if they get too big, you won't be able to see the whole thing unless you're looking from a totally overhead angle. :) lpinkus

I don't really think anything can be done about beggars and other annoying players. It may be a pain, but they really can beg as much as they want and say whatever they want, provided that it's not obscene. The new info guy in Lumbridge does offer advice saying that you will be unpopular if you beg. Besides adding more mods to monitor and try to discourage there people as they're begging, I don't think there's anything else JAGeX can do. So, I think it's the same soulution as always: keep adding 'em to the ignore list. It's free, even if you have 500 people on there :) lpinkus

Never thought of that. That should prove very interesting. It does seem like the herb seeds are rather rare, which might keep the deflation from being too severe too soon. lpinkus

I like the idea of a new monster/NPC that players have to team up and fight, but "giant pirates" seem rather silly. You compared it to fighting the Kalphite Queen, so I say make the monster non-human. Maybe ogre-ish is ok. But, if you want to keep the whole pirate theme (which I think you do), I'd say instead of one "giant pirate," (lol) it oughta be hordes of pirates. Regular-sized pirates :) lpinkus

OK then, I'll give it a go... How about Diango saying, "I'm also selling houses! Would you like to purchase a player-owned house?" Then, it turns out it's a toy house (like the Barbie dream house, for example) where you can store goblin and dark wizard action figures. Oooh, that one would hurt, since the houses have sorta been promised :) lpinkus Magnifique!!!
