Yes, but given an infinite amount of time of killing humans, the monster would obtain lvl 125. No In F2P, there are only 11 monsters above level 35 that you can train on. There are only 5 above level 45 to train on. Yep, that's about right. JAGeX has f2p set up so that one will want to become a member so that there are more, higher lvl monsters to fight. Really, I feel sorry if you want to become a member and can't get a parent's permission, etc., but JAGeX is a company. They don't produce Runescape for free. I'm not saying that nastily, I'm just presenting the fact that JAGeX is a business. A lot of players would probably question how well Runescape is balanced. Look at the number of level 99 fletchers compared to 99 prayer. But, regardless, if Jagex was careful about how they implemented it, then it need not unbalance the game. If you work hard/long enough, you can get 99 prayer, fletching, or whatever. Those numbers look "unbalanced" because most players would rather have 99 fletching than 99 prayer. And, if people feel Runescape is so unbalanced, why play it? Why not switch to another online game with an extensive world, monster database, and quest list that costs only 5 bucks a month to play? I'm no programmer, but that can't be "simple" to do. JAGeX already doesn't want people getting around the game too easily. However, when they do add a mode of transport , they tend to instill a service, not something you can own yourself, be it a horse/model T/spaceship, etc. :) lpinkus

Ok, this is not that serious of a discussion. However... So there's tea, how about coffee? It could raise attack by 1 or 2, but then, after a while, it lowers attack 1 or 2. Then, it evens out. Why? That's what the caffeine in coffee does in real life: it wakes you up a little, but then you crash. Coffee beans could be farmed, roasted, then ground, but not with the mortar and pestle, I think. It would have to be some sort of grinder. The roasting and brewing of coffee could give small cooking xp. Thoughts? I can't believe I posted such a nooby idea :) lpinkus

I agree, but I have no problem with a "drop all" that saves clicks, provided that it still takes the same amount as it does by dropping one at a time. I realize that amount of time (the time of one click in order to drop an item) must be estimated, but you get the idea. This way, one does not level any faster, but there is less carpal tunnel syndrome :) lpinkus

I understand that you think the disappearance of rares will hurt the rs economy, but buying xp is not a good idea. JAGeX is already opposed to people buying herblore and fletching xp. Then again, they are and always have beem opposed to rare merchanting :) Anyways...I really wouldn't worry about any of this in this first place. JAGeX will take care of it, I'm sure. That idea, however, is sort of clever. Sort of like a tutorial in the real RS world. lpinkus

No offense, but I don't really understand the benefit of this idea. If a monster can level up, doesn't that mean every monster would eventually reach 125? Even with resetting the levels every so often, there are already plenty of monsters of various levels. JAGeX balances Runescape rather well-this would harm that balance. lpinkus

I decided not to reply to your first comment on this topic, Zon, but now I gotta say: lighten up! For a Java game, Runescape is excellent. Graphics, concept, etc., all excellent. And, for five bucks a month, you continually have more options with the updates. A lot of people seem to post about how things in the Runescape world are not "realistic." It's a computer game, guys :) I like it a lot, but it is a game. If you don't like it, why post here? Why not quit and play WOW or Guild Wars or something? Seriously, I'm not saying that with a tone of snottiness, I'm really wondering why one would keep playing Runescape if they didn't like it. Doesn't make sense, does it? And, yes, kill the huge horns :) I think we can all imagine that the d full helmet will look similar to any other full helm, only red. Who knows, maybe there will be some larger-than-expected horns included :) lpinkus

I agree about JAGeX wanting to make Runescape more than just a fighting game. However, remember that a lot of players (myself included) do not PK, so we need to have that balance to enjoy the game. Wow, below level 100 is still noobsville? Sorry, that's just silly :) And, I think the single PKing area is a good idea. Since I'll never see you there, I'm all for it :) lpinkus

I felt a similar way when I leveled up in pickpocketing; knights seemed just as hard to theive from as paladins. In time, however, it all seemed to even out. All your imagination :) lpinkus

1) If you feel like skateboarding more, you should ABSOLUTELY do that more often than playing runescape. That's your responsobility, not JAGeX's because you give them 5 bucks a month. 2) I like the censorship in the game. In fact, I think there should be even more updates to block out the offensive mispelled language people try to use. It's the racist chat that makes me the angriest. 3) JAGeX is a company, therefore they must profit to survive, but they also provide a good product. I feel I said this well in a post I made earlier: "I feel that Runescape is the best, easiest to play, and most reasonably priced online game for which you need to download no software. I never understand why people post negativity about JAGeX. Simple criticism is fine, but the idea that they're fooling around with your account is, frankly, silly." Seriously, if you like any outdoor activity, do that more often to get some balance in your life. lpinkus

Well, I suppose higher than 85 slayer should yield some even better items, but there aren't enough players at that lvl for JAGeX to do anything about it yet. Besides, what's wrong with using/selling whips? I'm not tired of dragon weapons yet. lpinkus

JAGeX also has access to my credit card number, but they haven't taken any more out of my account than five dollars per month. I trust them with that information, so I trust them with my in-game account. Yes, I suppose they potentially have the ability to do anything they want, but I really fail to see that helping the "economy," which is fine, as far as I'm concerned. Comparing JAGeX's account handling to disciplining a pet dog? You really need to send a message to JAGeX if you have this concern. Yes, it would, but I'm sure that doing a better job informing beginners, etiehr in game or in the forums, would yield the same result. I'm sure JAGeX is plenty busy with other updates. lpinkus

Except for picking your character name, nothing I can think of in RS is available one time only. That's what makes it great; you can always go back and do something a new way. Except quests, I suppose. Anyways, no on the topic. Combat is fine. lpinkus

I understand that this idea is to help new players, but it's really not necessary. Dying early, which almost all of us did within our first 24 hours of RS, is a great lesson. Within a week or two, whatever gp and items you acquire the first few hours are very easy to get back. lpinkus

I wouldn't worry, JAGeX will keep it balanced. Both poor players and rich players will have to work to get a POH. And, if you're playing RS to "show off," well, I sure hope you can find a job someday as a, er, professional Runescaper :) lpinkus
