Next year is do or die for toronto in general. Fans have waited 8 years for them to make the playoffs, I don't think they can wait 1 more year. Mind you, if they go after one of the ufa's, then they'll be doomed in general (seeing as only maybe 4 of them are actually good /conklin,howard,osgood,ersberg/

Going back to the raycroft deal, you can see that they have no faith in young goalies, yet still get them for some reason. They brought in raycroft by trading a pick (which was used for rask), and raycroft did worse that season than rask. They then bring pogge up, and rather than let him play half the season, they use toskala, who effectively does worse than pogge (percentage-wise). They then use another pick and get gustavvson, and rather than putting their faith with him/let him play half the season, they get giguere who, yet again does worse than the rookie. You can see where I'm going with this: if toronto wants to have a shot at having a 'good goalie', then they need to stop putting faith into rusty tools, and instead test out the newer 'brands'.

You can scratch the 2 detroit goalies off that list too. Only way they'd give up them is if they knew they were getting nabokov. I'd actually love to see ersberg play for toronto. After all, judging by what they did to pogge, it'd be good to see another new goalie get hung out to dr....I mean, play well!

Anderson become an ufa july 1st though, which questions why they got rid of elliot when he still has 1yr left on his contract. I'd be up for predicting this though: Conklin signs with sens Sens resign anderson/make him number one Vokoun signs with blues Giguere either goes to russia/sweden, or signs with florida for cheap Devils get rid of hedberg/trade him for joselyn thibault Or at least, this is the setup that makes the most sense if you consider salary caps/what the teams need. As for toronto, expect them to possibly pick up one of the ufa goalies I didn't mention. Mind you, if they picked up one, then they'd be only signing'm to a 1yr deal.

Well, if they were smart, then they'd release it on dvd only, seeing as they'd make more money off a 25 dollar dvd then they would off an 11 dollar ticket. That, and even if it is horrible, then they still make more money product-wise (5 million people buying dvd's compared to 5 million buying tickets/disliking movie/not buying dvd when it comes out).

Many movies have been proclaimed 'bad' though before hitting theatres, and many of them have gone straight to dvd because of that (namely college, most of the van wilder movies, most american pies, and just about every movie featuring kal penn). That's not to say though that they weren't good though, hell, many of them were actually pretty funny if you chose to watch for the plot and not the random nudity every 5 seconds.

That's what makes him useless...again. Another thing that makes him useless: his dark typing shares the fighting weakness with rock/ice/steel types, common types found on most teams.

I think that kinda proves my point yguy. Had clemmenson been brodeur's backup, then they would've had a more reliable person to turn to when things were looking bad in the start of the season. Instead, hedberg follows suit, further sinking the team and all the people in it.

Zorua on the otherhand is possibly the 3rd deadliest threat to enter lc (behind ferroseed and solosis). As long as you have him copying a pkmn who can use 2 of his moves, then he is virtually impossible to detect, which often results in the opponent being swept. Kinda ironic that he can only breed with lucario though, seeing as they both suffer from the same generic problems.

Weird...I didn't mean to act like a 'wagon'. You simply seemed like someone who was new to the game, and was picking out all the wrong pkmn to use competitively. I too have been playing for as long as the games hit the north american shores. Only difference though is that, unless requested, I've been solely playing competitive. Maybe next time, you'll clarify that you're not playing competitively. Then you won't have people giving you advice on how to build competitive teams. Oh, and we should also probably now clarify in our posts which types of teams we need help building (ie: competitive/non/subway, etc) In other news, the flawless axew I hatched a few days ago is now lv100. Checked serebii, and apparently I 'accidentally' ev trained it to have perfect attack/speed. Still kept a bunch of the babies, should anyone want one. Current mission now: obtaining a focus sash for my smeargle lead, and/or breeding off a few flawless axews as a treat to the people of this thread. Oh, and I also have a question: is there any other move that axew learns that is better than shadow claw while offering good type coverage? Been trying to find something to kill flying types like skarmory, which have been constantly putting dents into my win streaks (namely, the 48 one that ended due to skarmory somehow killing my +6 curse ferro-tank).

Well, metroid prime/prime2/windwaker were the top 3 games for the gamecube period. I still remember when they released those games 7 years ago, and I bought the 'bonus versions' of the games for the same price as the originals (bonus versions being around 40bucks more in price). Bonus versions of prime/prime2 came with posters of all the 'major bosses' of the respected games. Bonus version of windwaker that I picked up came with a 6inch figurine of toon-link, a poster featuring link/the pirates, a t-shirt featuring the triforce on the back, with the front having the windwaker logo. Oh, and it also came with a voucher to save 25bucks off a nintendo power subscribtion.

In all seriousness, I expect it to follow in similar suit to that 'girl with the dragon tatoo' series, in that they had little hype before their theatre release dates, did decently in the theatres, sold more than 5m copies of each film after put to dvd/blu-ray, and both have books that are partially worth reading 'fully worth it if you read the dragon tatoo books before watching the movie series).

Castform has pitiful base stats, and is pathetically useless against every pkmn in the ou tier (minus crobat, should people actually use'm). Shuckle, well, he's not as good a 'defensive tank' as you'd think. The term tank in pkmn literally means 'a defensive pkmn that turns offensive'. The word 'defensive pkmn' generally refers to any pkmn with one/two high defensive stats AND high hp. Shuckle has a scarily low base hp, which usually means that his defensive stats get put to shame when facing things such as stats and/or hail. Also, aside from the ever-useless power trick, shuckle can rarely put dents in certain common steel pkmn (namely skarmory, heatran, registeel, magnezone, klinklang, and the afformentioned ferro). This usually means that while shuckle is busy either using toxic or his power moves, those said pkmn can use that free turn to setup for themselves. And even when shuckle does use power swap, his horrid/unusable base 10 speed means that he is easily outsped by the entire metagame. Shuckle remains to this day the 'fools gold' of the pkmn universe. People see his high defenses/power trick and immediately assume 'too good, I want'm on my team'. Then they use him against someone else's team and see how bad he really is. Seph, visit smogon. They'll show you how to build a good team there...

Yguy, question: if brodeur up and suddenly retired today, who would you trust as your number one goalie for jersey? A guy who has never been/never should be a number one in hedberg? Or a guy who has been a number one on multiple teams, and has taken teams into the playoffs in clemmenson. This year, hedberg's gaa and sv% may be higher, but taking a look at the teams they play for, it is really no surprise. Facts are, if hedberg was a goalie for any other team besides jersey, he'd be 4-20 and/or be on waivers by now.

Meh, I expect brodeur to last for roughly 2/3rds of next season, before succumbing to some sort of injury. Facts are though: without a decent goalie, the devils are literally the equivalent of the vancouver team pre-luongo. Worst mistake that the devils made though (besides kovy): getting rid of clemmenson, and replacing him with hedberg. If they had only kept him for this season, the devils may have actually been in playoff contention.
