  1. A base power 180 fire type move? I think heatran just high-fived itself.
  2. Hihidaruma? You mean darumatan? Darumatan, imo, was the biggest surprise of this gen (with last gen being gliscor). Darumatan's dw ability hurts it huge, but with sheer force/belly drum, it can destroy plenty of annoying threats. Another idea I had for that spec wall/offensive was rotom, seeing as the 4th gen forms are significantly bulkier, and the electric-water/electric-ice would work wonders when combined with the steel/grass of ferro.
  3. They should remake the thing, make it 'earth day'. Give everyone a machine gun, with instructions to only use them if someone turns on their computer/television. Oh, and kill the guy watching glee while playing warcraft.
  4. The 5yr rebuild was a part of the example. Truth be told though, in order for the leafs to not be a complete edmonton copy, then they need a FULL rebuild. They shouldn't purposely be tanking as well. They just shouldn't be too worried if they make the playoffs/'hoping to make it to the scf'.
  5. Jelli, ah, completely forgot about it (which is ironic since this pokemon was the sole reason for tenta's banishment to uu). Question now becomes: moveset, and should I get rid of axew to add a pkmn that benefits off rain.
  6. Time to answer all the lf's 'question rants'. When you rebuild, like the leafs were planning on doing, your goal shouldn't be making the playoffs, it should be trying to accumulate picks/'slowing down'. Making the playoffs during a rebuild is pretty horrible, and here's why: Let's say the leafs were in the middle of a 5yr rebuild. They make the playoffs, and for some unknown reason make it to the finals/'win the cup'. The leafs were on pace to build a dynasty, but after winning the cup, many could argue that now they 'don't need to'. So they get rid of a few players, add some new ones, and forget the entire rebuild idea ever existed. Next year, they place last in their conference, but why? The rebuild wasn't complete, thus meaning the 'dynasty' they thought they had was in all actuality just a very lucky team. So they start the rebuild over again, spend another 5 years 'rebuilding the rebuild', and once this rebuild is complete, their team goes on to win 5 cups in 15 yrs (heavily unrealistic, but possible with the right build). I'm not arguing that their belief of winning the cup is bad/wrong, it just isn't the one they should be focusing on now. Question to yguy/every other leaf's fan: would you rather have a team like edmonton, winning one cup before having to change the team completely? Or would you rather have a team like detroit, which has always been a top-level threat/has always had a good shot at winning the cup for the past decade? Logic complete, time to watch as the leafs fans fireball my perfectly good logic.
  7. Forward it to 'to catch a predator'...
  8. Well, I've narrowed my ideas down to 2 pkmn: flash fire ninetales, and 'aww f''k it time to go rambo' thundurus. Both can kill many of the things that stall ferro (namely other steels, grasses, and fire types), and wheras ninetales relies heavily on predicting the enemy's fire move, thundurus relies heavily on pounding the ____ out of enemies who don't resist the dual-stab.
  9. I think I should go into detail: I need a special offensive wall capable of absorbing flamethrowers directed at ferro.
  10. White is the better one for people who actually want a pokemon 'game'. If you want to play a game with 2 inferior legendaries (tornadus/reshiram), and a city that truly adds nothing good to the game, then get black. Oh, and I actually have a question if anyone knows their way around these games: I'm trying to breed a special wall/special sweeper for my subway team, but have no idea of which pkmn to try. They can only be pokemon obtainable in white.
  11. @faux: good luck, considering yguy's a leafs fan and just about every other regular isn't/doesn't like the leafs. On topic though: anyone else interested to see how chicago does this year? They remove the goaltenders, but effectively keep everything else in tact. Even still, my spidey senses say they'll get picked off in 6 games.
  12. Dreamton, congrats. You've officially made sam's hangover pic seem less 'abercrombie'.
  13. My random insults combine both the immense power of random with the wondertwin power of insult, forming an interesting burst of random flavor!
  14. Time for the random insult of the day: who, your willy is like this thread: always out of hand, and covered in random gifs. Today's random insult is brought to you by the pamela anderson riding mower. When you think of pamela anderson, remember, also think of riding.......mowers.
  15. Dear leafs fan, We don't pity/feel bad for you. One of the key traits of leafs fans is their hopes of 'making the post season', followed by a sudden ignorance/arrogance during the summer. Pick a better team Signed, Us logical people
  16. @dizzle: the unrealistic invasion answered why/how the invasion itself could've happened?
  17. Hg/ss was good for a remake, but overall, the plot was lackluster beyond belief. If you liked the story from gold/silver and want to go through it again (all the while being forced to capture lugia/hooh to advance the story), then get hg/ss. If you want the greatest pkmn-game story mixed in with a newer/more confusing pokedex that still confounds me, then get black/white. If you have a brain, then wait until the 3ds comes out. @demoli: trick to using it effectively is by having zoroark come in on an unsuspecting pkmn who is weak to your overall team (ie: switch into blissey if you run physical, weezing if you run special). The opponent will generally switch, thus giving you either an easy kill or a free nasty plot. That's generally the most effective way to use zoroark, and even if he gets killed, your opponent will still be at a huge disadvantage (seeing as when it works, he kills 2 pkmn).
  18. The leafs have been bleeding draft picks since they got burke, and rather than focus on 'getting veterans to teach the rookies', it's all been about 'let's make the playoffs, who cares if we're nowhere near ready'. Burke bringing in giguere, and getting rid of that first rounder was the hockey version of ringing the giant bronze bell/rallying the troops for war. Question is though, was there any point of getting them ready for a war they couldn't win? The leafs need to actually start fully rebuilding. They've been ignoring it every season, and instead, when they've won a few before the deadline, have just said 'f''k it, it's playoff time', trading away their shot at a dynasty for a goal they can never accomplish. During this year's deadline, they traded a few players and finally got some picks. But in the case of building/rebuilding, 'some materials' doesn't build a house.
  19. @ginger: have a lead/dead synch with the nature you want, with a magikarp in your party (not 2nd). You're almost guaranteed the right ditto if you do it right. @krimi: flying gem acrobatics more or less dominates, period. Factoring in the flying gem/flying stab, you have access to a 1 turn base 240power move not including weaknesses/resistances. To put that into perspective: if you hit a pkmn who resists flying (ie: heatran), it'll still have the same power as a neutral thunder. If you hit a pkmn for super effective damage, you essentially kill it barring sturdy/sash. If you hit blissey, you also have an 87% chance of killing it, which is rare for something to accomplish. @demoli: if you really wanna f...I mean 'toy' with them, have a zoroark in your party. I did when I was testing out my emboar set, annoyed the hell out of the people who were attempting to counter using psychic types (namely reuniclus). 'Reuniclus used psychic, it doesn't affect emboar!'
  20. Or just daycare it to lv5. Once a pkmn hits any level that's a multiple of 5 from the daycare (ie 5,10,etc), the iv's are generally easy to spot.
  21. And yet the 'rebuilding' idea gets ignored by the leafs, even though they're supposed to be rebuilding, right? Truth be told, if kessel doesn't score more than 80 goals in the next 2 seasons, then he'll probably be gone too. Facts are: leafs said they were going to rebuild, so they brought in burke. Since then, burke's turned them into a weaker detroit team, and traded off a bunch of their picks for some reason. Are the leafs cup ready now? If they were, then doing all of this would've been ok. Thing is though, they're nowhere near ready, leaving huge questions, namely 'why is brian burke, an experienced/veteran gm, doing this?'
  22. @dizzle: play conduit1, you'll see there's more than 1 game that does it. And I agree, after playing mw2's storyline, it left more questions than when it started. Still a decent shooster though...
  23. One of my friends has a specialty iv checker thing. It can find the overall iv's of any pkmn simply by typing in their base stats, nature/secondary, and level.
  24. @zammyninja: the gifs here are like masterbation. If you see someone doing it, it's better just to watch than to join in.
  25. Necro, don't worry. When I encountered my first shiny when I restarted my black version, I immediately knew it was one due to the huge 12second animation they have before it. Truth be told, the only real way to not spot a shiny is if you completely speed through/'afk' through the games. Oh, and if anyone's wondering what shiny I got, it was a shiny/perfect atk/speed jolly axew which I then used to breed off those axews I was talking about earlier. (Oh, and while posting this reply, I just caught a shiny/adamant drilbur on my white. Checked iv's and they're flawless barring sp.atk)
