@orpheus: are you sure? Because I'm pretty sure all you need is surf/strength to get all the items there, both of which are available waaay before you hit the elite 4. Oh, and I restarted my white version due to certain annoying things (namely the lack of happiny in my white forest, the bold nature zekrom, and the fact that solosis is pretty sh'tty when you face the elite 4 for the second time). Gonna try a new team/setup though: otterwott, minccino, petilil (my new favourite 'play through' pkmn), and either venipede or darmanitan. Oh, and 2 weeks till I start building my competitive team (gonna wait till I can get my hands on a 3ds before I poketransfer. Mind you, with my current bank account, a mere 200 shouldn't matter too much to me...

You can get it, but it's rarer (22% more to be exact). Keep trying though. @necromagus: try surfing around/looking in caves, and you can find a bunch of good ones (ie: earthquake/dragon claw at victory road). Infinitely usable tm's are definitely better though, or more precisely, less annoying.

Well, I found a few decent spec wall solutions that may work, but the best one yet involves an offensive variant of clefable. Moveset so far is stored power, cosmic power, and moonlight. Don't know what to add as a 4th move. Another option would be ludicolo, but I fear that the dual-grass of ferro/ludicolo could open me up to a few more weaknesses.

You can only change the nature of legendaries post-e4. Best advice I can give is to put'm to sleep, then slowly widdle his health down to 1hp/attempt capture. Dusk balls at night are the cheap alternative to ultra balls...

Well, speed boost on a sweeper like blaziken is kinda cheap, especially with its movepool being able to s.e. Hit just about everything in ou. I can't wait though to see the reactions from serebii people, seeing as the last time one of their favourite sweepers was banned (garchomp in gen4), they seemed to take it personally/like the act was a personal vendetta against them.

Yguy, you seem quite certain that all this patchwork that burke's been doing is going to turn the leafs into an unstoppable juggernaut. Truth be told though, patching an old/leaky boat is not the same as buying/building a new boat. Burke's decisions ever since he entered toronto have seemed to revolve around the phrase 'one team's junk is another team's treasure', and so far, it has hurt your team completely. The surprising part, is that you're supporting him when he does something, and then shrugging it off like 'ah, well, we can always get something new' when he fails horribly (ie: getting giguere). I mean c'mon, don't you feel bad for your team? They bring in burke hoping for change/a new start, and so far all he's done is traded away perfectly good picks/prospects for players that were on downward slides/failing horribly on their old teams. The entire point in being a fan is to support the team, not the person destroying it.

Paper mario 2, ah, the memories. Amazing how 1 game changed my perspective of life, and all other video games. Pm2 was the black sheep of the mario family in that it had tougher bosses, a dungeon which gave access to some of the (cheap) best badges/items in the game, and it had a trio of obscenely-huge dragons which were all pretty hilarious in their own right. I actually remember the first time I played through it, thought that sheer force would work/badges were stupid. Ended up failing when I hit the train (as I kept dieing at the smoooooooorg). Next time I played through it, I spent 2 hours looking through every little detail/badge I could see in the game. Managed to beat the game (albeit, with a total time spent of 84hours). Was the first time that I used strategy/logic, and it changed me forever...

detroit was build off rookies though yguy, which kinda proves my point. Also, many teams have gone/stayed among the elite once they've built their dynasty. Remember the kings back in 2005? They were a sh'tty, toronto-esque team with just about the same ideals as the leafs (namely, patchwork is 'just as good' as a rebuild, and it's always good to trade draft picks for other teams' junk). They scrapped that belief in 2007, and rebuilt their team near-completely. Now, they're downright scary, and rarely worry about cap space due to the low costs of many of their players.

I dunno why, but I think I'm starting to hate the new wits. The old wits was smart/a fat [bleep]. The new one, well, she's like the neighbor's dog who humps everyone's leg, even if they're wearing shorts.

An unboosted v-create also does 0 damage to heatran. Mind you, with all the old pkmn running around, victini has plenty of counters/enemies (namely gyara, tyrannitar, swampert, scizor, any stab eq/surf/dark/ghost/rock move). If victini had an ability like levitate, then it probably would be seen on more ou teams.

With stab, it's 270bp. Add in 6 calm minds, and it hitting a smeargle that's used 6 shell breaks, and that's a sh'tload of damage (victini has calm mind, right?).
