  1. I own a Walther P22 Indy. Good little gun. Easy to handle and shoot, hardly any kick to it. Fun to play with. You could probably score one for anywhere from $350-400. Depends on where you go and what comes with it. I've seen some P22 packages go up to $500, but again...depends on the accessories with it. Mine looks like this with a Carbon Fiber stock: [hide=][/hide] A shot to the testicles really won't do much other then cause some pain. If thats your plan then so be it, but if someone where hyped up on drugs they might not even feel it.
  2. Bump! ;) Heres my current day to day carrier....always have at least 1 full magazine on me at all times. [hide=] [/hide]
  3. Military pay is completely tax free? I thought only the allowances were? When deployed to a zone considered to be in combat EVERYTHING is tax free, base pay and allowances.
  4. Good....Bad....idk, i don't pay taxes. My paychecks are swole.
  5. South Carolina still flies it on their state house grounds. It used to fly right under the state flag but a compromise with the NAACP brought it down to the front on its own flagpole. The NAACP holds a boycott of SC now because we fly the flag, oh well no big loss there. Really no big deal. Good or bad its a part of history, our history as Americans, and the south's history. [hide=] [/hide] What you see flying today is the "Battle flag" of the confederacy. It really did not represent the confederacy as a nation. The real "Stars and Bars" is much more like a traditional American flag.
  6. I personally prefer semi autos to revolvers. I think they are easier to use for a novice shooter. Beretta makes the M9, very popular and currently choice of the US Military. Glock of course makes some quality pistols and has a 9mm version, which is used by a lot of law enforcement agencies. Its the G17, it has the capacity of 17 rounds. They also have a compact and sub compact version in 9mm caliber. Springfield has some nice pistols that are on par with Glocks now, their XD series. XD Service model 4" is a 9mm. 16 round capacity stock. Other then those i'd look at either a Taurus or Ruger brand pistol.
  7. Very true, its quite expensive to obtain and feed a Class III weapon (machine guns). But it can be done, kinda depends on what state you are in. Some state prohibit Class III weapons all together, some allow them but make them impossible to get with loopholes, some are like sure go ahead. The local gun shops should have all the paperwork you need. Its actually a common misconception that you need an actual Class III license/permit to have them. This is untrue. That license is only needed to buy and sell those weapons as a business. However you would still be required to register and go through the paperwork for the gun with the correct state and national agencies. And of course, it must be legal in the state you live in to start. Legally, you can only own a true Machine Gun as a regular joe shmo if it was registered prior to May 19, 1986. Otherwise you would have to be an actual business (or have the licenses to sell firearms as a business) to own Machine Guns of any date. Basically as long as you can pass the background checks, and the certain gun is already registered under the NFA (National Firearms Act) as well as with ATF you can own it. You will probably be required to submit a photograph and fingerprints with the background check for these weapons. If you buy it from a dealer out of state it will cost you $200 just to get it transferred to your state. Its a very complicated process, even I have a hard time understanding some parts of it. The best option would go to your local gun shop and talk with employees there. Sometimes gun shops will even hold firings of these weapons so customers can come out for the day and shoot, varies per shop. http://www.recguns.com/Sources/IIF1.html
  8. Very true. .22s are very cheap.
  9. I've been waiting and waiting since March of this year to be told a date of when i will be going to Iraq. Found out yesterday that i leave on Tuesday. Stressful? Just a little bit. Imagine stopping your life, stopping your cell phone bill, car payments, insurances, rent or mortgages, you're job to be put into a combat zone. Just a little bit stressful. Being told an exact date 6 days in advance doesn't help. I have many stressful days, and many in front of me yet to come...
  10. Honestly, when you shoot the M16 as much as I have and as you do in the military you become very tired of it and try anything to get out of going to the range. The first few times is great, and the first time putting it on burst mode is great...but after that it wears off. I'm actually going to a night fire range tonight with night vision goggles and laser sights, hooray for no sleep. I'd consider the M16/M4 a plinker too, especially after shooting a .762 caliber weapon. Its basically a .223 caliber bullet and much like a .22. Plinker or not what a lot of people fail to realize is that a small caliber will do serious damage and can easily equal that of a larger caliber if you get the right shot. Small bullets will basically ricochet around the body cavity while a larger round will just cause straight trauma to one area. The .22 doesn't have knock down power but it can be very deadly. I call it a plinker because i personally prefer larger calibers but that does not mean that the .22 bullet is useless. There was an incident a while back where a South Carolina State Trooper got into a gunfight with a guy on the side of the interstate, shot the guy 5-6 times, the suspect then turns his .22 pistol on the trooper hits him a couple times in the vest and sneaks one round right into the armpit area of the trooper where the vest does not cover, Trooper runs 20ft collapses and dies. I've seen the video and it is not a good one.
  11. I agree! I prefer higher calibers. Love shooting .40 and .45 pistol, also .30-06 for Rifle. .22's are plinkers!
  12. I've shot pretty much everything under the sun. Benefit of the military. .22 pistol to a Browning .50cal. I love it, love getting that rush when you get behind the gun. My favorites so far are the .50cal and the MK 19 grenade launcher. I don't want to brag but, i'm trained to hit black at 500 yards with iron sights on an M16 ;) I currently have a Springfield Armory field grade (Shootable not a wall hanger) M1 Garand on order that i will receive once i get back into the country. Can't wait. I currently carry an M16A4 with an ACOG every day. Still waiting on my M4 Carbine i requested months ago. Will also be getting issued a Beretta M9 very soon, can't wait for them to bring the .45 back into service. Just a small list of some notable stuff i've shot: -M2 Browning .50cal -MK-19 Grenade launcher -M240 -M249 SAW -M16 (A2/A4) -M4 Carbine -AT4 The trick to shooting and hitting what you are aiming at is sight alignment and trigger control, thats really all you need. Everything else falls into place. For anyone that hasn't shot an M16 or M4 before, it shoots very much like a .22. Very little recoil with a small caliber round. Lemme tell you, theres nothing like hearing the sounds of a .50cal or MK-19. They will literally rattle you're body and shake the dirt around your feet. The power is incredible. Love this topic btw.
  13. I think its weak, especially crying over that and that much. To me it sounds like you missed out on the Y chromosome. Strength isn't all about winning fights. Strength is being able to hold back those emotions and hold back those tears to accomplish a task no matter what your feeling. So yes its weak. You cry at a funeral not everyday.
  14. What are you talking about. You just described being athletic....something you need for ANY sport.
  15. Doh! Bah, no sport has action like American football does. Sure other sports play without pads, but pads give players a false sense of security. They literally run full speed into each other. If pads were so pansy there wouldn't be as many injuries or knockouts as there are. [hide=BIG hits, THIS is American Football. It pumps you up][yt]mSskqthHbeE[/yt] [yt]XqmdI3tVuMA[/yt] [yt]yGRFqOipcTg&feature=related[/yt] [yt]de1aMu2pDOg[/yt] [yt]YJaFHrrC6wM[/yt] [yt]djiSTaswaFc[/yt] [yt]0fJxN3DWQCI[/yt][/hide]
  16. Complete fail. Alright, say you manage to reach the base. How do you plan on stealing a well guarded helicopter? Do you even know how to operate one? Lolol. Once you're on base its pretty close to free roam. You're problems start when you have to run across yards of the air ramp to get to one. I shouldn't be telling everyone this should I.... You'd starve before the raptors, have you tasted MREs?? I'd personally wake up and it will all be over. :)

    Gangs

Whats the Tazer going to do? Shoot them or taze them it doesn't matter, they are still going to hate Police afterwards. When do you want to see the tazer used? Just out on the street whenever they are hanging around? After a crime? You don't specify. In most cases using it to move them along to somewhere else would be police brutality. Also you're talking about people, at least in the US, with semi automatic pistols, shotguns, and submachine guns. Our major problems started in LA and have since moved across the country where those gangs established sets in various cities around the US. You also have the very violent Mexican gang population spreading North into the US.

    Gangs

Lets define these gangs as "Street Gangs". The local sheriff's dept defines a street gang as: "A street gang is a group or association of three or more persons who may have a common identifying sign, symbol or name, and who individually or collectively engage in, or have engaged in, criminal activity, or as a juvenile commits an act that if committed by an adult would be a criminal act." I think the best way is to hit the kids early, teach them, educate them. Along with that, step up police patrols in troubled areas. A police presence is enough to deter in most cases. These don't have to be stop and frisk type of patrols. Meet and greets do wonders. Officers need to get to know the kids in the neighborhood and build a working relationship with them. All these kids see is cops that want to put them in jail and are out to get them. Put more school resource officers into schools. My freshman year in highschool my school was saturated with gangs. They got a school resource officer, incidents went down. By my senior year they put a police substation in the parking lot of my school, hardly any violence in school and the surrounding neighborhoods. You also need citizens to step and oust them from the area. Its very possible to do this. Gangs thrive on their neighborhoods, what if the neighborhood wanted them out?
  19. "Wild Thing" just like Rick Vaughn from Major League  No but really... Crazy Train - Ozzy Down With the Sickness - Disturbed Bone crusher - Neva Scared Jeezy - Put On All i can think of right now, i'm going to bed.
  20. Pretty good shape. Gotta be for military standards. Could be better though. I could probably outshine most civilians but would be on the middle tier in the military.
  21. The military is nothing but repetition day after day, just thought to throw that out there. It's not the 'exciting' 24/7 combat and shooting practice an outsider would think of it as. A gigantic amount of the time you'll be mopping floors, listening to lectures, running or doing pushups, sleeping, eating, waking up early & repeating it every single day. The contract is also for 5 years in the States so you'll have to live with the lifestyle unless you 'want out' with a dishonorable discharge (in some cases that could also get you jail time) 4 years. And that is true.
  22. It is an opinion you are right, thats why i said "IMO" your list sucks. Btw, every movie i listed is categorized under the Action genre according to IMDb. I don't see how you can say Shoot em up was such a great film. It was not entertaining at all for an action movie. Sorry but a great film to me does not gross just over $26 million worldwide (Obiv i'm not the only one) and consist of a guy using a carrot as a weapon. The Boondock Saints, Smokin' Aces.
  23. It was an edit, just had FMJ the first time and decided i better just write it out.
  24. I was going to suggest Marine Bio as well.
  25. Shoot 'em Up?!?! SERIOUSLY? Thats by far the most [developmentally delayed]ed movie i've watched in my life. Waste of my time. Sorry but IMO, your list sucks. Leaves out some big holes....maybe its the time they came out/age....idk. Heres my list in no order...i'm sure there are more... Saving Private Ryan Death Sentence - Kevin Bacon goes insane in this one. FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) Apocalypse Now Braveheart Platoon Gladiator The Matrix Series Jurassic Park Black Hawk Down Indiana Jones Star Wars The Hurt Locker - Very new so i need to watch it a few more times first, but i'll go ahead and throw it in. If you want to count miniseries count Band of Brothers. And might as well count the one coming up "The Pacific". :)
