  1. Mantis Shrimp and Camel Spiders. Mantis shrimp can take fingers off. They are cool as hell to look at, but freak me out. Commonly kept as pets and considered pests by some in the aquarium hobby. They pack a punch equal to that of a .22cal bullet, can easily break glass and rocks....and skin. [hide=] [/hide] Camel Spiders just freak me out. If you've never experienced one IRL you're lucky. They will actually run straight at you. They are running for your shadow because of shade, but you see them running at you and it freaks you out. Its said to run up to about 10mph. [hide=][/hide]
  2. I assume you went Active duty? I was going to say if you went Reserves and would be coming back after all the training to a somewhat normal civilian life, those places of business are required by law to hold your job and salary until you return.
  3. They care if you DO weed, they don't care if you DID weed. Big difference.
  4. I'm in a similar situation man i feel ya. I was told in March or April i was going to Iraq for about 7-8 months. I'm still waiting here in the US to leave. I went ahead and quit school and everything. I won't be leaving until the last weekend of August. I'm anxious as hell. I could be finishing up over there if i had left the month they told me. You just have to trust that they'll send you asap and not dwell on it because in all honesty...theres nothing you can do about it.
  5. Depends on your Unit once you are through training. Some piss test their Marines every month. Some go 1-2 years without doing it. You never know though, its whenever the commander wants to. I wouldn't take the risk. They will test you before shipping to training though thats a guarantee.
  6. Lemme tell you something being a Marine myself. 1. First get off the weed, they'll piss test you at MEPS and again after bootcamp and then many times once you hit the fleet. Might as well stop now. 2. I would personally try to let go of some of the emotions now if possible. Bootcamp stresses you out enough, you need some bottled up stuff but not everything. Use this depression, anger, and other negative emotions that you have left to your advantage. Get that wavier, get in bootcamp and get it done. These emotions fueled into Intensity will help you LOADS in bootcamp. Funnel them into something good. Go in with the mindset that you're changing your life right here right now. You're trying to better yourself while everyone at home is doing what? Earning the title is something they can't take away from you, and honestly its still one of if not the greatest day of my life when i got that Eagle Globe and Anchor placed in my hand and was called a Marine. BTW, 3rd week at bootcamp = Pugil Sticks I. 4th week = Pugil Sticks II, 5th week = Pugil Sticks III. Thats where you can knock someone out, put them on their butts, knock the mouthpiece straight out of their mouth and get praised for it. Thats where you take emotions out. 3. I've met some of my closest and best friends while in the Corps, I trust them with my life and they trust me with theirs. Its a special bond you can't find anywhere else, a true brotherhood, a second family. You'll see, you'll have the largest/best support group around you. 4. I'll be honest. Its going to suck getting there. This road is not an easy one but the end result is worth it. The Marine Corps has its share of BS, nothing you can do about it but it also has its share of amazing experiences. Just take everything in stride. Right now while you wait, use those emotions during workouts. Be active, do something to take your mind off of everything. Plus you'll want to be in decent shape going in. Hound you're recruiter about the wavier, make sure its getting done. And stop smoking weed, because you never know when that wavier will come in and boom you go to MEPS to take a piss test.
  7. Congrats. Athens is probably one of if not the best college town in the country. But i'm sure you already know this.
  8. All of you are missing the point. I hunt, i eat meat, i have dogs but they are no where near equal to me, i hate PETA and all groups like them....but for someone to do this to animals? Its terrible. A clean shot to drop a deer, great. Hanging a dog in a basment, and then shooting it because it lost a forced fight? Yeah sure, a few months is enough time.....NO. [cabbage]. You're telling me this sick mofo did enough time for this? I don't think so.
  9. Hopefully he lost all his "talent" while rotting for those long months. He should of been serving even more time. He is getting off easy and i hope he crashes and burns. Thug at Virginia Tech, Thug at Atlanta, Thug for life. Lock this moron up.
  10. Umm.... so the jonas brothers and miley cyrus also does that "triple threat"? it's part of the marketing and you're actually falling for it Errr no. They don't have the triple threat because they can't sing. I'm not falling for anything. I don't buy jack [cabbage] from any of them.
  11. I love the new challengers, plan on owning one soon after basic training. Awesome. I plan on buying one after my deployment.
  12. Justin Bieber has a voice though, much better then Jonas Brothers or Miley....IMO at least. Watch some of his personal stuff on his youtube. Dude can play guitar, write his own stuff, and sing....triple threat. He doesn't have to sing necessarily to make a name in the business. He had Usher and Justin Timberlake bidding to sign him....sounds better then Disney to me. I agree about autotone. Its garbage for the most part and hate hearing it. However i do think it works for T-pain, some of his best stuff IMO was just Ft. on other's albums. I think thats what he's made to do, auto tone works for him with that. I'm on a boat! If you compare Wayne's pre-Carter III stuff to his Carter III stuff its completely different. His pre-Carter III stuff blows his new stuff out of the water. I wish someone would tell me the song "Prom Queen" is better then "I'm Me". He fails at autotone.
  13. Ugh another Camaro fan...;) I test drove it and it just didn't do it for me. I can't really pinpoint what it was. I'm def not a fan of the visual aspect, but maybe its the interior of it. Feels very fake and lots of plastic. I'm sure everyone can guess my favorite car... [hide=] [/hide]
  14. Sorry to see your troop has problems like that. I'm an Eagle Scout myself, not involved with Scouting anymore....but did attain the rank of Eagle. However, welcome to the chain of command. I agree it shouldn't be that way in scouting, but there is a chain of command. Maybe you should use it and try and get some problems fixed. If one level won't help you, go one level above them. They answer to a chain of command too. Its like a skillcape to the world of scouting yes, but i can tell you from personal experience...its useful in the real world. Having Eagle Scout on your resume or college applications looks good. Its a plus for you. The world doesn't see it in the skillcape aspect, they see it as they always have. A pretty prestigious award. Eagle scout is worth an instant rank in the military. An extra stripe up on most people is a big deal in the military. Thats what i did. I've been to Philmont twice, and would love to work as a ranger out there. Would be a paycut for me but would be an awesome job. I loved my weeks at Philmont. Stick with it or try and solve some of the problems, it will be worth it.
  15. I've always kinda wanted the Dress Blue collar tattoo'd on my neck where it would be if i was wearing the uniform. And have it just fade out at my upper chest and shoulders.
  16. My Uncle had a 57 Vette, nice car. A speeding ticket? You plan on getting caught in that thing? ;)
  17. Bump. What happened to this thread. I want to see more cars! Tell me this isn't a sick looking ride. Pretty mean looking. [hide=Dodge Challenger R/T] SRT but who cares, its sick. [/hide] [hide=Other]1973 and 2009 Challengers side by side United States Air Force Dodge Challenger "Vapor" [/hide]
  18. You can touch up tattoos.
  19. I'll be getting some "moto" tats soon. "United States Marine Corps" split between each forearm running down to my wrist. Possibly "Semper Fidelis" on the backside of my forearm. A big USMC down my ribcage under my arm wouldn't be bad either...I want this Emblem somewhere, havn't decided where yet. The Marine Corps is the only thing that is worthy to be tattoo'd on my body. [hide=][/hide] Btw, i've actually seen a real Monster energy drink logo tattoo'd on a guy's arm. Was terrible. Seriously...whats the point.
  20. LOL people get the most meaningless [developmentally delayed]ed tattoos ever. Why put it on your body if it doesn't mean anything to you. Like REALLY mean something to you. Only 1 subject matter is to be tattoo'd on me and thats it.

I don't think i need a PBA card...;) [hide=][/hide] (Pic was used for another site, thats why my face is blocked.) I find the PBA card completely stupid and i would of given him tickets as well. He was being stupid driving 90 with others in the car in the first place, he deserves it. The only reason I could see them as ok would be for maybe a reserve police officer, or someone who actually contributes to the local police department with their time, services, or equipment, not money. They are non-exsistant here in South Carolina.
  22. Already posted but, US Marine - Landing Support Specialist This sums up my job. [hide=] [yt]5K8-jqzqQcc[/yt] [yt]w4n_84gRYHA[/yt][/hide]
  23. What i don't understand is why they keep putting M60's into games. They are hardly used anymore. These games should get with the times and switch to the M240s. Sorry, being a gun nut and military guy makes me pay attention to details like this. Its like criticizing every war movie made. You don't notice the little stuff in movies until you've been there done that IRL.
  24. Good step. Combat troops are leaving as we speak every day the number goes down. Infantry MOS's are being withdrawn constantly and having their deployments cut short or being sent to Afghanistan. We are still operating the major hubs or as we call them "FOBs". All of the outer smaller bases are being collapsed into these FOBs. I have mixed feelings really, because things are starting to jump off there again. And convoys arn't as safe anymore. Since they own the roads now, we can't just push through. But i guess thats just how its gonna be. Even as a military person, I'd love to be able to pull ALL troops out not just the combat element, but that will be a while longer. Its a hellish place over there.
  25. How old are you ? Just turned 23. Rah, Semper Fi, good luck and remember its only a 3 month long mind game. Play along, they can't stop time. Make the most of it. How old are you ? He's a reserve in the Us army, he's mentioned it before quite a few times before he's going for his 2nd deployment this summer or something along those lines. Me, going to Connemara for a week, it's in the West of Ireland, pretty popular place for Americans to visit. Other than that, just working and partying. US Marines***** ;)
