  1. Yeah, you are possiby joking, but there are lots of wanna-be-mods around. When you speak something wrong, either deliberate or just a slip of tongue, they are more than happy to fill in the "report abuse" form and report you straightaway Be more careful next time. It might not be a good place to pull off these jokes in a public chat like forsakenmage, where mature players and silly people can join.
  2. That won't help In computer science we have a test called "Turing Test" which tests the intelligence of a machine. In this test, a human judge tries to have conservation with a machine and another human, of which they are isolated. If the judge cannot tell apart the human and the machine, the machine is said to have passed this test. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turing_test It can be compared to a bot trying to disguise as a human. Yet, so far, no machine has passed this test, so in a nutshell, no bot can effectively mimic a human being. Use of such a bot is never flawless. Given that the RWT "macroing" expert has all gone, and with the experience of Jagex in dealing with sophisicated bots, I doubt any casual people who tries to use bots can get away with macroing. Report 'em all, and let them pay the price of cheating =)
  3. besides bad xp and promotes afk, it also denies the use of lower levelled training spots if some people, unawaring of the cons of this method, decides to camp lower levelled training sites I reckon most players, especially members, know the pain when their favourite spots are occuplied by somebody with much higher level Absolutely disagree
  4. Love the idea And it would be great if this monster is non soloable for most but the best of f2pers. We have cockroaches, we have greaters, but all can be soloed easily. I reckon one that requires a f2p clan to slay effectively would be better.
  5. not a bad start Add pictures, you need to show your monsters. Also, it is far better to use a map to illustrate the position of various dungeons rather than using descriptive words. It may be confusing. BTW add more alternatives. For example, if I don't feel good with hill giants, I may kill minotaurs or hobgoblins. Same for other monsters Looking forward to seeing your finished guide
  6. I better start off using a commonly used counter example against "comforts" People often say positive results come from positive thoughts or religious faith, and dubs this effect as "placebo effect" Now they argue "placebo effect" comes from biochemical changes in human itself, such as secretion of hormones, but not from any deities This thought is logically flawed --- the placebo effect exists for some reason, and for Christians this is due to God's creation. It allows those faithful be rewarded by their faith without interventing the natural order that He creates often --- count the number of faithful Christians! So I would say religion comforts people
  7. One party state... Since I am from Hong Kong, from my background culture, I don't have major uncomforms with one party state. Yes, some freedom will be gone, but actually, Chinese people believe that the overall harmony is more important then individual freedom. Hence some of the policies which is heavily criticised (EDIT: by Western World as negligence of human freedom). I respect personal freedom, but I suppose my individual freedom should not transcend the benefit of the overall community. Note that I am not going to deny any freedom abuse cases. My score: Left / Right: -3.88 Libertarian / Authoritian : -1.48 Social Liberal
  8. until you realize how realising (or unrealistic) the religion is, from thelogical knowledge and from experiences. you havn't been devout enough, or your faith is built on a superficial foundation (e.g. Merely Jesus sacrified, so we must follow), then you have a high risk of getting astray from a religion, I'm afraid I am a Christian. Not yet baptizied.
  9. I've tried this before but failed. I guess you can only do this in Vista Ultimate (not sure if it can be done in Premium, but definitely not in Vista Basic), and you need to install special softwares. Note that these softwares modifies system files and may be illegal, so use it at your own risk. AAH you might have to use Vista without any service packs installed as well. If you have one installed, it changes some of the Windows Settings so these patches fail. For example, the transperent Aero theme used to be included in Vista Basic, which is not a feature in that version. However, some patches can unlock the transperent theme in Vista without SP1, but cannot if otherwise.
  10. you might try running spybot s&d or other antispywere softwares, but if I were you, I would reinstall my system since it get rids of every problem easily To do this, check to see if you've got a "system recovery disc" or installation disc I think buying a Mac to avoid computer virus is like not playing Runescape in case of getting killed. Not very practical I'm afraid aah don't forget installing anti-virus, firewall and antispywere back afterwards if you choose to reinstall the system. Remember to run scans once a week
  11. I guess your decision to give him e-mail is your greatest mistake. I don't intend to be harsh, but letting a random dude having your e-mail is definitely bad Good to seeing you realising that guy is an impersonator, but I suggest you asking for his name, more about his background or the experiences that you two had. These questions would not offend a genuine guy but is extremely difficult, if not impossible, for any cheater to answer
  12. BAD BAD BAD They affect everybody in the game negatively, except the manipulators themselves. Look at the modern (real world) economic crisis, it is created by a group of ruthless greedy people persuiting money Although Runescape has a different economic model, the GE works similiar to that of real world stock markets. With those merchant clans who controls the prices, ordinary players would suffer by losing money I suggest that Jagex should make explict price manipulation a bannable offense, and ban several clan leaders as a warning. Afterall, even if this does not rely on deceiving others, this does downgrades other player's gaming experience in an unfair way, and most importantly, ruin the game spirit --- afterall, being rich does not mean that one is superior and is allowed to bully others using their money
  13. The food problem might exist, but as we know, the population of human has been increasing for CENURIES. Yet technological innovations keep a large part of us from starvation. (I know, some others are still not enjoying the fruit of modern phosphority) However, what I see now, is increased cooperation in the international community, for example, 2 powers, US and China, recently has improved their relationships aftermath the G20 summit. The international responce to pirate. And this is true for Iran as well. I guess these trend set up the stage for international responce to threats to humanity in 21st century.
  14. Being a f2per... for 2 years. I created my account 2 years ago. Took a 9 month rest though. The same case as Veyron27 - parents won't pay for an online game. But I find the f2p aspect of the game is already enough to keep me busy during these years Mining, cooking, fishing, smithing, woodcutting... so many skills. Sometimes I can't decide which skill to level up first. Priortizing them is not easy... not to count combat skills
  15. I would say, the guide layout is good, but monster suggestion... there is still room for improvement Suggesting people to fight lessers in lvl50 is crazy. They deal incredible amount of damage (max hit 8). A player can kill one or two, but not much. They cannot deal a lot of damage, which is releated to experience growth, too. Even moss giant is unsuitable (max hit 6). Flesh crawlers, on the other hand, is good. You must try the methods that you suggest added: as a general rule, monsters with level less than half the combat level of the player is suitable for training monsters added: asking people to kill hill giants in lvl30 is too ambitious
  16. 8/10 Simple, impressive, unique mage training guide for f2p Have tried it using 800 mithril ores. Works! I guess I will use this trick often. No more alchemy. superheating is the way
  17. Sometimes you forgot this --- people train on flesh crawlers because they are agressive no matter how high the player's level is For the other monsters that you've mentioned, they simply don't have this property. That's the problem. High level people like to do semi-afk, focus on other things like chatting rather than clicking on monsters forever to attack them. And it is those high level players camp flesh crawler forever causing the most "problem" that you've mentioned
  18. I agree that there is NO iron rock next to bank. But how about coals? I suppose mining guild is close enough to bank, if you get lvl60 mining To get lvl60 mining, powermine in Chasm mine (actually a very boring task, but worthwhile) If you insist on iron, well, I'm afriad that the mines will be distant
  19. thank you for the advices but will dragonhide work better than full rune?
  20. That must be Zezima. Look at how much account names like zezima(insert any number here). I guess his fame is unrivaled in Runescape, at least in these several years
  21. superheat mithril. I've just tried. lost 3.2k for 800 bars. Worth the effort I'd say
  22. I have been a member before. But I retired (temporatory) so I didn't post new stuff. As a result, my old account is probably deleted. Anyway, following the addition of p2p worlds (actually it is nothing new, but since I've only rejoined Runescape these days, this is something fresh for me), I would like to know, does going to p2p worlds to cut the 3 yew trees behind Varrock Palace worth the risk of getting pked? Stats: (see signature, thanks)
