How the hell are you supposed to efficiently train with higher leveled enemies resisting your damage? Don't say "uhhh, damage resistance should only be pvp", that's poor game design (inconsistency). While on the other hand - having exp remain the same (e.g. you normally hit a 10, it resists down to 5, but you still receive 40 exp), it would make training combat too easy (each enemy yields more exp). It pointlessly throws things out of balance either way. Pfft, Imagine how long F2P combat would take with damage resistance. Anyway, we already have the divine and elysian shields (ignoring the cost), and that's how Jagex intends to treat this concept, purely as a fancy perk for the wealthy. Why shouldn't we alter the combat system? Because much of the game thus far as been constructed around it, it would more negative impact than positive. There's nothing wrong with the combat system now anyway, RS is unique. All your points are true. I think the combat system could be altered still - maybe in a new version of RS? RS4? Mechscape? I don't know. Were did rs3 go. :lol: Your point about combat being to easy is outwieghed by the monster having more hp so you would need more food or higher healing food so it would cost more and even then you probably won't be able to stay there as long as you previously could. Instead of ignoring the cost of those shields lets look at it, 390 and 343 million, this is not a practical means to increase your chances of survival in certain places, for example your not going to take something that cost that much in to a pvp world.

In todays age isn't the best selling point of videogames originality (well, second best after graphics)? I like how Runescape isn't the same as D&D and other RPGs of old. I play runescape for runescape, not so I can say wow this is just like D&D, what a great game. Pjing has been stopped tbh. Just log onto a BH world which isn't +1 and I promise you won't find many Pjers if any. AGS dropped over 13M in 3 days when this update happened before +1 worlds were introduced, because everyone knew it was the end of PJing. All this update (to defence) will do is make tank rangers like the 1 and 10 defence pures of RSC. Near undefeatable. I can't see Jagex creating another situation like that, they changed the way combat level is calculated in RS2 just so they could stop low defence pures being so powerful. I personally don't think graphics are the most important thing in a game, it seems games companies are throwing all there time and money into graphics that are jaw dropping but the graphics take up so much room everything else suffers, such as gameplay and story. I know games need a USP but I think you have to get fundamentals right before all that. I think either you don't understand me or I don't understand you but it sounds like your saying some body with 1 defence will be "near undefeatable". I am saying the opposite 1 defence pures will have no chance of winning, the problem comes with 99 defence will be "near undefeatable" which is the point of having 99 defence isn't it? You have mastered defence so you stop nearly all attacks. I have read people saying theres no point getting defence past 80 or 90 cos there isn't much of a difference from 99

Twisted those words slightly. I meant from other RPG'S. I think it should be changed cos it would help with pjing, your more likly to hit a low number than a really high number, so it would be easier to get away or fight back. Pking fights would last longer and maybe reduce safing cos people feel more secure knowing that it is more likly to be a low number than a high number. You know how jagex loves pvp these days.

Unless you can rip up concrete when you run there is no way you can run away while attacking some body with it. If you run at them then it is offencive. If you quote the graph/pie chart it shows it source as mechscape. Members in pounds for me is £3.50. I would say a whole lot more than 2 million accounts are members. I would say 4 million members, that would still leave over 6 million f2p and throw away accounts. (remember jagex said over 10 million accounts had been made)

A 50kg suit of armour should make you easier to hit but reduce damage, like in every other rpg. If it isn't broken don't fix it. Maybe cos bandos is a god armour, it is imbued with magic so it covers your body. With veracs it could be verac is protecting the wearer, who the hell knows but more importantly who the hell cares? Are you going to ask about mages next? How does there armour work? Maybe they imbue it aswell.

Memebers get atleast 1 update a week thats 51/52 updates a year, a quater of 51 is 12.75 so even with 10 updates a year they are still not even getting a quater of our updates and your pissed at the number 5 or 6!?!?! How long are those ads on your screen, I an click on members before they even appear. Seriously ... WALL! I KNOW THEY DO NOT PAY ... they contribute towards the game. No matter what you say from now on that reason is nullified cos if it wasn't for them there would be less money for updates, even if the money is only running the servers it means the members money isn't getting spent doing that. I'm not saying that the skill cape is the only reason that people get members. I'm saying that f2p getting skillcapes doesn't benefit Jagex in any way. Wouldn't it better if f2p got an update that would also create new accounts/create new members, in turn allowing more updates? It sound like that was what you were saying. Why do members need/ skill capes to show off that they got a 99 or 2 that is all f2p want to do. but yet you are telling me the opposite here. You seem to disagree with me about skillcapes not being an amazing achievement. If, according to you, they arean amazing achievment, they must obviously be respect worthy, right?
