I honestly haven't noticed any lag in a newly generated world yet (apart from running around and forcing it to keep generating more world, anyway). Playing on far/fancy. Of course my new computer is a bit of a monster when it comes to games, but still >_> Bit of a shame we didn't get seasons with this update, but hell. I'm happy with having leaf decay back :P Still wondering what this super rare hidden update is supposed to be, though. I haven't checked the forums recently, maybe they've found something new since I was last on. Hm...

20-Dec-2010 - O Little Town of Daemonheim (Christmas 2010)
I actually had issues in the red/green light room, but that's probably partially due to me being on dialup and a certain someone (who I was doing the event with) was rushing me through it since they got through it with no issues >.> Regardless, easily the best event I've ever, ever done. I love dungeoneering as a skill to begin with, and using it in the event somewhat was really spectacular for me. The heim crab hat is actually quite nice looking (I suspected it would become a hat similar to the Hunt for Red Raktuber fish hats), so I'll likely keep it in my bank for as long as I can afford space for it, lol. Since the golden hammer doubles as a (wieldable) smithing hammer, I will no doubt be keeping it in my bank. I still need to get 97-99 smithing after all :P it also looks quite nice. The sole thing I would've wished returned would be the ability for the snowmen that you build at the Games to be able to fight with one another like they did in a Christmas event a few years back (I think). I enjoyed it all regardless, though. Played a bit of everything, although the seal sliding was my favorite part by far.

Well, almost destructible. Can't forget about bedrock, after all :P *cough* anyway... Went nosing around the cave systems that go through and under the hollow mountains, and located one that goes pretty deep - down to about 20 blocks above bedrock naturally, actually. Found plenty of coal and maybe 30 iron ore on the way down, then I started digging a staircase the rest of the way down. Hit a gold vein, and then heard water somewhere nearby. Dug towards it, and found another small cave with a couple iron veins and one diamond vein with just enough diamond for a pickaxe. I did well for a (almost) natural cave, I think :P gonna dig the rest of the way down and start branch mining for more diamond. I might invedit some TNT into my invy, I'm not sure yet. I want to build everything somewhat by hand at the very least (not like I can use a map editor anyway), but I want to try gathering the materials I need for my building and not have to tear up the mountain much. I want to keep it's natural look as much as possible. All this effort and I still don't even know what the hell I'm going to build, lol.

Just randomly found this while I was scouring the Mapping and Modding section of the forums. Might be of some use to Kim and Dizzle, since both of you hate spiders: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=54593 Scroll down a bit, this guy has a mod called Phobia Relief - allows you to disable the spawning of specific creatures in game (and only that specific creature). Personally, I wouldn't do it since it'd make it kinda hard to get string (unless you already have enough for a bow and two fishing rods), but if they bother you as badly as I think (and there seem to be a fair number of people on the GameFAQ board that have arachnophobia as well), then it'd be for the best. Of course, the mod does jack all for me and my fear of ghasts >_> ah well. I'll cope. Also, Seananners has a new vid. Absolutely epic, loading it now. *3 hours later it's done* *no, I'm not kidding*

Godville - ELITES = #1 Guild
Heh, and here I am at 3.6% after a month >.< I don't do arena, though. Can't be bothered, lol. Just hit level 18 earlier today though, and a Master of ELITES finally. No pet yet, and two trade skills (one that I got at level 15 is currently level 5). Gear is currently ranging from +17-19, with his body armor a +21. Is it just me, or do heroes tend to randomly pick one armor slot and focus on buying armor pieces for that one slot and ignore everything else for a while? I've noticed this quite a bit, I had a +18 shield and everything else was only +10 or so at the time.

I die from falling off of stuff more than I do from being killed by mobs, but it's not like I die that often anyway >_> too cautious for that to happen, lol. I am a klutz when it comes to cliffs and stuff, though. I just don't die from the fall, just come very close to it :P Haven't died from lava yet, though. Caught myself on fire a few times, but it cheated and got me through the corner of a wall instead of me falling in. Oh, if you die often from falls, I'd avoid the grappling hook/hookshot mods >_> they tend to be a little... uncontrollable at times with the height you fling yourself. I died a good number of times with the hookshot, lol. Grappling hook is a little more controlled, but it has it's own control scheme now which I have zero clue how to use yet. At least it's changeable, but there's still like 7-8 different buttons to map... Was looking into getting a texture pack again, but honestly I just seem to prefer the standard graphics over everything. Always have.

I can imagine me recording it with fraps or something and trying to upload it working real well with dialup >_> If I had highspeed, I'd be tempted to do it.

Thankfully, I'm not arachnaphobic in any way :P And Kim? Be glad those aren't Painterly Pack style spiders. Those ones come close to creeping me out for some reason >_> oh, and the fact they don't have skeleton riders is also a plus. Betting those would give you even more fits, they always do for me since I suck at dodging arrows. Seriously though, spiders and skeletons are the only things that give me issues when it comes to dodging - spiders are just too unpredictable for me, and skeletons... if I don't have a bow I'm boned, pretty much. Oh, and to Kim and Dizzle, you both could go SeaNanners' route and use a block of TNT to clear out the dungeon. >_> Can't confirm if it'll destroy any items from the chests, though. Also, thinking about redownloading the grappling hook at least so I can navigate this monster of a mountain without falling to my doom repeatedly, since I know I will since I'm the clumsiest person alive. Oh, and you know something? It isn't the only mountain like it around here. There are more of them behind this one.

Just started up Minecraft for the hell of it with a grass mod installed (plus Better Grass as well), and started wandering on peaceful. I have found the most epic mountain I've ever seen, including when I was using BiomeTerrain mod: *grumbles at imageshack taking 3 tries to upload* Seriously, I have no idea even where to begin building here... First things first, I must climb it. >_>

If it weren't on a dvd, it'd probably be 3-4 discs >_> Nah, what I meant was Sims 3, plus the two expansion packs and one stuff pack that I own. Neverwinter Nights 2, for whatever reason, was on discs. 6-7 of them. >_>
-
Minecraft General
Well, it wouldn't run The Sims 3 on my desktop pc at all - video card incompatibility or something. It does run on my laptop - just not at top graphics or anything. Both could run Minecraft at varying view distances (desktop was stuck at tiny view distance, laptop could handle short, maybe normal view distance). Considering my desktop pc was a good 4-5 years old, and the laptop is 2-3 years old, they did pretty damn good >_> I'm guessing that both will run at top/near top graphics on this comp, though. I'd have to actually dig out my Sims 3 discs and try it sometime.

So yeah, I've had the worst run of computer luck in the last 3 days that I've ever had -.- Main computer (with all my Minecraft saves) died when we moved it out to the kitchen to make room for the Christmas tree. Nothing we could do to get it to turn on, so... we installed all of the software for dialup on my laptop, and after about 15-20 hours of downloading essential stuff, managed to get it back online for playing Runescape, at least (Minecraft was already installed, so I didn't have to worry about that). Power surge, came back through the telephone cord, fried the modem. -.- Cue a day and a half of running around, trying everything we can (borrowing our grandmother's laptop and highspeed modem to try to get that hooked up, only to find out that we can't get it back here). Opening up both the recently exploded desktop pc tower and the old one (that also blew up earlier this year) to try mix and matching parts to see if we could get something to work. Nada. Just today, my grandmother offered to buy us a new (used) pc for Christmas. Took a while to get it hooked up, but everything seems to be functioning normally. Still dialup internet, but at this rate I'll take that, lol. On the plus side, this new pc is more powerful than my old desktop and (still functional) laptop combined, so highest graphics settings for Runescape and Minecraft, here I come :P Anyway, gonna be starting anew with Minecraft again. Not sure what I'll do, but I have far view distance and fancy graphics, and zero lag. /bragging Probably just gonna start a new world again, and go from there. Might build something, might just play Runescape, who knows. I know I'll be trying some of my other pc games (The Sims 3, Oblivion, Neverwinter Nights 2, etc) on this to see how well they'll run.

*facepalm* All that entire last post about the texture pack I posted, and I didn't even say the name of it, rofl. Yeah, like Napalm said, the one I linked to is GeruDoku's compilation pack, which is almost entirely Doku's stuff with bits of other peoples' work mixed in.
-
Minecraft General
It's Doku's RPG pack, yes. But, I'm fairly sure he's on hiatus or something (or just outright stopped working on Minecraft stuff), so it hasn't been updated to work with the Halloween update. But, someone else picked up where Doku left off, and continued working on it, as well as adding in bits and pieces of other texture packs, if I recall. I'll try to find the link to it, hang on... Here we are: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=77619 It isn't fully Doku's pack, so it'll look different, but it's the only one that's compatible with the most recent version of Minecraft. I have it downloaded as well, but the HD water/lava patcher stopped working with the recent string of updates, so I gave up and just went back to standard textures. For reference (assuming you want moving water and lava with this (and any texture pack larger than 16x16 pixels)), here's the link to the patcher: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=46173 Patching it is simple, although it took me a couple tries to figure it out due to my stupidity :P you have to have a clean jar file (no mods or anything installed in it, and no texture packs either) first. Open the patcher, select the jar file and texture pack, hit patch, and it should go through fine. If you try to directly install the texture pack first into the jar, then patch, it fails miserably (or at least it does for me). Clean jar file worked fine for me, though. Was going to also comment saying the patcher includes the BetterGrass fix, but it appears to have been removed >.> not sure where that went. I think all it did was make grass covered tiles cover the vertical sides with grass as well, instead of only going down the side about 1/5th of the way. Something like that, anyway.

Try installing a mod that gives dirt and smooth stone blocks a 5% chance of turning into lit TNT when destroyed, and go punching dirt and see what happens then, tbh. >_> the hole it creates is too big for my computer to handle just because of the sheer amount of item form cobblestone and dirt blocks lying around. But yeah, I use a web based editor for my major building stuff. Which, I'll note, I've neglected like all hell in the past week >.< I did get the wall built, at least. Plus installed a full blown furniture mod (which unfortunately conflicts with just about every other mod in existence right now, but ah well). Whenever I get around to it again, I'll have to actually start building the bridge over to the other part of the fort, and the main drawbridge + portcullis (which won't be moving since I don't have ControllerBloc installed anymore, but ah well :P).

Kid, you're a Noob, Nerd.
Personally, I'm damned proud to be a nerd. Rather be a nerd than anything else :P The only thing that would even remotely annoy me would be people calling me kid - I am, after all, 21. Pretty much guaranteed that I'm older than a good number of other players, lol. However, it's not like I talk much anyway, so getting into these arguments with idiots aren't that common (although I witness it pretty much every day). Noob is outdated, can hardly even consider it offensive anymore. I call my friends nubs all the time :P Speaking of... Blind, you're a nub. Kidding <3 Oh, and I do find the 'umadbro?' crap to be annoying, but that's more for the terrible grammar/spelling than it being offensive :P

Herblore Habitat - Corrections and Suggestions
Just wanted to add onto my previous corrections I posted before. Reading the guide to unlocking the god jadinkos, it seems that (if I'm reading it correctly) that the vine herb patch is supposed to be part of the requirements? I personally caught all three god jadinkos with my herb patch empty, so I doubt it affects anything, god jadinko wise. Still, having someone else confirm the same thing to be sure would be nice, but just putting it out there. Also, if you wanted to add in a section about boosting for the requirements, I'd like to throw in the fact that I found that hunter potions didn't work (although this may be a failure on my part, I wasn't able to attract draconic jadinkos under the influence of a hunter potion, and I was at least 81/78 or so at the time), but the Oog'glog (probably spelled wrong :P) hunter pool does work - I used the mud pool to catch the draconic and god jadinkos fairly easily. The salt-water spring would also be helpful for those who are tracking jadinkos as well, if you wanted to take the time to teleport to Mobilizing Armies and run to Oog'glog for it - I found I was running out of run energy fairly often when I was tracking diseased jadinkos for vines, even with spottier cape/boots of lightness on at 75 agility, so... might be helpful. I don't have any knowledge about boosting for farming and herblore requirements, though - I'm already too high of a level to need them :P Again, I'm glad to contribute whenever possible :) just hope that it helps someone. EDIT: Decided to read through the updated guide to scour for more spelling errors :P this is what I've got so far: "You may also purchase Juju teleport spiritbag from Papa Mambo's Shop. *Once you get the Witchdoctor mask, you will receive unlimited teleports to Herblore Habitat. There is also a cauldron outside of Papa Mambo's tent you can use to fill you watering can and empty Juju vials." Italicized parts are things that don't look quite right to me - I feel that spiritbag should have an 's' on the end, it would flow better (not sure if this is grammatically correct, though). Also, missing an 'r' at the end of the italicized you. More coming when my internet stops being a pain -.- assuming there's any more to find, of course.

07-Dec-2010 - Warriors Guild and Dragon Defender
I went in to try (on dialup as well, I'll note). Got a number of normal cyclopes kills, 1-2 cyclossus attempts (each time I got stunned and then kill-stealed due to my own fail). Better off waiting on my end, honestly. I may have enough tokens to sit in there and try for a few hours, but right now, it's just too laggy and busy for me :P Grats to those who have gotten one or two, though. Hopefully it'll have died down a bit by this evening/tomorrow morning so I can try again. Otherwise, I'll just go do other stuff till it does.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ANNOUNCED!
Considering I have well over 1000 hours of gameplay on Oblivion (and probably the same again on Morrowind), I'm most certainly looking forward to this :P Direct sequel to Oblivion, though... this should be interesting to see how the storyline will play out. Also wondering if they'll continue the same 'start off in prison with no idea what the hell you did' thing, or do something different this time, though >.> (note, I have zero experience with Daggerfall and Arena, so I dunno how those ones started) Better voice acting would be a godsend - the ones we had in Oblivion were good, yes, but not that varied, considering they had twp voices for each race (one per gender), and additional voice actors for essential characters (some, anyway, plus they reused the same actors for some I believe). Sheogorath was epic, though - loved his accent. Bringing back a number of guilds (and questlines) similar to that in Morrowind would also be nice - I enjoyed the various different paths I could take with the different Houses in particular. And sidequests. Lots more sidequests. More caves (and not being cut/pasted ones) would be nice. I'm unsure if they should keep the Oblivion style spawning of enemies/loot, or do something similar to what we had in Morrowind (guaranteed rare loot if you know where to look, ebony shortsword south of Balmora I'm looking at you >_>) and having some areas (like Daedric ruins) guaranteed spawning of things way too difficult for you to just rush in from the start of the game. Or maybe a mix of the two, I dunno. The only thing I know I'd like changed is something to prevent farming of super high end gear (Temple of the Ancestor Moths and rings, for instance). I did that and lost interest pretty fast when nothing could kill me because of 100%+ reflect damage >.> Anyway, enough rambling. Really looking forward to this, though.

Herblore Habitat - Corrections and Suggestions
I'm reading through the guide right now. The sole spelling error I've seen is in the first paragraph, about the teleport spiritbags: "There are only a few methods of entering the area, which include: Juju teleport spiritbags which can be bought from Bettamax's Shop or Papa Mombo's Shop for 2,000+ gp..." Misspelled Papa Mambo :P other than that, nothing else that I saw for spelling, although I'm looking through the rest now. I'll edit/post again if I see anything else. Great guide, though. I'll also note that I never got a "You have one correct requirement for attracting [god] jadinko", only two and up. But, I've only gotten the three god jadinkos once, so it may have easily just been that I skipped over it. EDIT: One other (teeny tiny) mistake (and I'm not even sure if it was a mistake, but I thought I should mention it anyway), is there's no period at the end of the paragraph about the god jadinkos - like I said, tiny thing, not even sure if it's an error, but the rest of the paragraphs have either that or a : at the end (can never remember the name), so... Ah, right at the bottom. All mentions of witchdoctor clothing in the "Additional Rewards" section seems to be spelled "whichdoctor". And Papa Mambo was mispelled again, same section. Hope I was helpful :) EDIT (again): Picked up one more tiny error: "Whichdoctor gears acts as camouflage when hunting jadinkos in the habitat area." Unsure if it's truly a mistake or not, but it seems like it flows better if there wasn't a 's' at the end of gear. If I'm incorrect, my mistake :P [Crew edit: Thanks a bunch for these corrections! We appreciate users taking the initiative to help us with the guides. The above corrections have been made to the guide and will be live as soon as the new additions being made to the guide are complete. - Speedyshel ]

Also, not sure if it works on Vista/Windows 7, but on XP at least you can go to "Run..." under the start menu, and type in %appdata%, and hit enter. That brings up the folder for me.

Minecraft General
*swears at imageshack profusely* -.- Took damn long enough, but I have the six screenies just about uploaded now. Note, I take no credit for these designs, they're all from random Minecraft pictures I've seen floating about, and from this topic: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=26706 Putting them in hide tags, since it'll help Furah load the page better :P [spoiler=Furniture Pics] This is the bed design I located. I've seen a few different blocks used for each part, but this is what I have put in. Play around with different block types, there's probably a more attractive looking combination out there. I used... half blocks for the main part of the bed, smooth stone (maybe) for under the pillow, and the pillows are stone pressure plates. And those are signs around the edge to form a bed frame. The two different chair designs. Simple process, it's just signs attached to each side of the stair block for armrests. Just an extended version of the chair. Works the exact same way. The two different planter designs. You could quite easily have wheat growing here instead, assuming it's close enough to a water source block (possibly hidden behind a wall? I'm unsure of the exact max distance for it to grow). One design uses signs, the other is just small paintings. The different stove designs I saw. I personally prefer the furnace/pressure plate one (since it's actually functional), but even then, I'd rather just have a small fireplace and have a wall/floor of the room have hidden furnaces in them >_> oh, and you put the pressure plate on the furnace by trying to place it on the wall behind, it'll default to the nearest flat surface, ie the top of the furnace. I tried my hardest to get signs to go on the sides of the furnace, but I just can't seem to do it. Shame, since that'd probably be the best looking one. Tables are probably the most annoying builds possible. The only real combination one can do is half blocks on fences/other block supports, and even then, it's too high for a chair design to reach (from my perspective, anyway). My solution was to build a chair on a fence post (making a bar stool), but then it's too high off the ground to jump onto, lol. Then, putting in a half block floor, you get a lighting glitch under the table that makes it pitch black (you can see it in the table in the background). You can fix it by putting a torch under the center, but that only really works if the table is large enough to hide a torch under >.< still, what I've built here still looks decent (and you can always just make a bar using a row of blocks of your choice, and putting chairs next to it, that'll work just as well. Blah, stupid code broke my formatting -.- gotta fix that before posting... *ahem* Anyway, that's all I've got for the moment. A proper table would possibly be pressure plates on top of your choice of support (fence or stone, maybe), but we can't have floating pressure plates, nor put them on fences. Which really, really sucks -.- Hope this helps.

Honestly Gio, you put my building to shame >.< damn, that is a nice castle. I'd love to see the inside of the buildings, though (when it's finished :P). I spotted that creeper when the pic was loading >_> I laughed a bit, since it was just... random. I was going to comment saying that the portal out in the open might've been a bad idea, but I went to look at the wiki to see if I was correct in believing what I heard before (that ghasts can very rarely spawn on this side of the portal), but it turns out, that it was just a rumor >.< there haven't been any known recordings of ghasts spawning on this side, according to the wiki. Good thing too, since they'd light your buildings on fire pretty quick >.< Mind you, they will spawn if you're using the muddyswamp=true function in the BiomeTerrain mod (supposedly, it was confirmed so far as I know though), but that's mod related. Still, not having any more muddy swamps (whenever I get around to dl'ing the updated mod, anyway). I honestly haven't been playing much Minecraft recently. Got a tiny bit boring, plus my friend (who I got addicted to Minecraft to begin with) got me back by getting me back into Runescape >.< after seeing that epic castle though, now I sorta want to play again. Oh, and Gio, you asked about furniture for Minecraft? Well, there's no actual furniture blocks available, but creative use of certain blocks does make some good substitutes. I should still have my experimentation world up (since the same friend was asking me about furniture as well, and I was building stuff to help them >_>). I'll edit this post once I get some screenies uploaded. It's not that difficult to do, but it's still nice to see em.

Godville - ELITES = #1 Guild
Lol, Dumbo >_> Well, at least you have a pet :P I'm still only level 13. I did (finally) join ELITES (recruit atm, I think), and I'm up to... 12 bricks? I would've been at 13, but a mishap with a question mark block lost me one (that was a major FUU- moment). Up to two deaths now, the first was a skirmish I missed a while back, the second was just tonight, some monster killed him >.< ah well, he was only down for about 4 minutes, I was just afk at the time. Gear's up considerably (although I have zero clue if it's above/below average for my level - one +0 left, everything else is between +1 and +7 (two +1s, two +3s, one +5, one +7 shield - he likes buying shields now, for some reason). Oh, and whenever I'm in town (if I remember what I read correctly) I try to spam encourage to increase our influence, I think it is? In that town. I haven't gotten anything yet (apart from the fabled golden calf appearance >_>), but I'm still trying. Oh, and our guild doctors are damned stingy, they always want my monies to heal me. Fuu, doctors.

I'm on dialup all the time, and I find that hide tags do nothing to stop images from loading >.> Maybe it's just my internet/browser, though. Regardless, I'll stick whatever images I post from now on into hide tags (assuming I can find the button again).
