The HISTORY of SERPENTS
I'll just leave this here for lols: >_> On a more serious note, get that new computer soon, Serp. I wanna drag you into Daemonheim for a duo dungeon already <3

Dungeoneering Tips and Tricks
Good to see me binding a surgebox over my law runes was actually a somewhat intelligent idea, even though I admit I solo a majority of the time due to me being on dialup and getting frustrated with idiots really, really easily. I also found the guide to be quite entertaining :P Overall a good guide. I enjoyed reading it considerably. I admit I have a lot of tokens in my ring that probably aren't too useful (having tokens in blitzer and blazer mage styles, artisan, and desperado), but I also put said tokens in just after release :P I find using the mage and berserker rings useful, though. And of course gatherer, when I get a chance to use it. One thing I would like to know is how would one go about getting a shadow silk hood? I personally haven't seen one before, although I've killed every night spider I've ever seen. Is there any method of obtaining one quickly, besides just dungeoning as normal and hope for one? I'm not entirely sure how useful it would be to me when I mostly solo, though. I am slowly getting myself more into the mindset of rushing rather than grabbing every resource, though. Which is undoubtedly a good thing :P Anyway, good guide.

meeleing skeletal wyverns?
According to the wiki, the ice breath is mage based to a degree, but is unaffected by armor, and only very slightly affected by mage pray (lowers the max hit by a tiny amount)- not worth using, better to protect range/melee depending on how you're fighting them. This I find makes sense, since I never saw any large amounts of damage other than ice breath hitting me. It's a good thing I looked at the wiki, I never thought to bring a bolt pouch to hold the different bolt drops they have. EDIT: I'll note that the sole damage I ever take is from icebreath, I never get hit by melee. Still, I have 97 defence, so you will likely take more damage than I do. Also, they're weak to crush, according to the wiki. Shame all the good crush weapons are two handed, lol. Just stick with slashing with rapier, the wiki also states they're highly resistant to stab, and somewhat resistant to slash. Take that with a grain of salt, this IS the wiki after all.

The HISTORY of SERPENTS
Think I might start doing barrows again, due to me needing cash for... certain future purposes >_> Oh, and grats on the d med, Serpnub :P (and the dharok plate as well, I suppose) Also, someone change his custom title to "Fired Crew" for lols.

meeleing skeletal wyverns?
I wear bandos chestplate and verac skirt, don't pray anything except using turmoil for the first few kills/specs. I do fine, but I do have 97 defence. I also use a unicorn, so you'd probably end up having to use yip/bob filled with food instead. I believe I heard the mage attack is unaffected by your armor bonus, and from my tasks, that seems to true - I do take damage, but I also used karils in the past, which made no difference whatsoever. I'll do some looking into it on the wiki, maybe there's more on it's attack styles there.

The HISTORY of SERPENTS
Serp, you're still a noob. <3 Seriously though, I was wondering why you kept logging on and off... on and off... on and off... (ad infinium) whenever I was online and you were as well, lol :P Good to see you're starting to train slayer, though. Keep at it, it's worth the effort at higher levels :P and you beat me soundly in farming, although that's no surprise <_< Oh, and if you want to duo a dungeon or three when you get your new computer, fire me a pm, I'll probably help you assuming I'm not already busy with something else :) Good to see you're still around, though <3

Enhanced excalibur doesn't seem to heal me :(
From what little I remember of getting my own EE, I think you have to be wearing the seers headband and talk to her again with Excalibur in your inventory. You'll know if it worked, since the name and icon will change when it's upgraded. If that fails, then there must be a glitch or something.
-
No, I DON'T want to talk to Vannaka
I'd go out on a limb here and guess that Zaaps said that more for those who just did Smoking Kills and wanted the points to unlock the different abilities (at least slayer helm) as fast as possible, rather than it being a general method of slaying. That being said, there isn't any math involved in slayer. Get task, do task, get new task, repeat process till you achieve your level. If you wanted to get efficient and figure out which tasks give the most xp, the most cash, etc... then it'd require math. But for us normal people, just kill whatever you get, and use your points to block the tasks you absolutely hate doing. Not much else to say since everyone else already elaborated on it :P

Godville - ELITES = #1 Guild
I don't do the arena for my bricks, either :P I've only been in two skirmishes, 1 win 1 loss so it evens out (brick wise, I think). Every brick I have came from quests, encouraging, etc.
-
Godville - ELITES = #1 Guild
7.8% completion on my temple, about... 2 months it says on my time in game so far. Sneezy, my firefox, is currently level 10 and <S[bleep]y> (whatever that means >_>), and I've had Sneezy for 30 days now. My hero himself is just about to reach level 24 - curious as to what his new skill will be (currently has two trade skills at levels 9 and 7, and one combat skill at level 4), but I'm not too concerned, considering he never uses them anyway, lol. Oh, and he's a Chief Master of Elites. Probably gonna go up to the next rank sometime soonish, I'd imagine. Gear is just barely into the +20s range, with a +28 body armor he's been holding onto for a week now that miraculously hasn't had the crap beat out of it by a monster (which is continuously happening to everything else he owns, I might add). Oh, and I rarely get free stuff from villagers. Guess they don't like me that much, yeah? :P Just curious, but it seems to me that my hero doesn't buy new gear that often anymore - is it just that he's just dumping it into buying gold bricks when I'm not looking, into skills, or on pet vet bills? Really, I haven't noticed any constructive use of his cash for a while now (he's been right around the same gear +s for a week or more now), and his gold brick/skills counts aren't increasing that rapidly... guess he's just getting drunk more often, I dunno. I've gotten myself into the habit of spam encouraging whenever he has 3k gold to melt it into bricks as well, though. I suppose that's not helping his gear much, but ah well. I want bricks more. EDIT: Looks like TIF doesn't like my pet, and bleeped out his personality. Ah well :P

Dungeoneering XP Loss and Lag
Zaaps, that makes perfect sense, considering the amount of teams that have leecher skillers on them to reduce the combat levels of the creatures in each dungeon, but it wasn't there before... ah well. I'm not terribly concerned about my own xp, just hers for the moment, because if she has to deal with this xp loss for her, I doubt she'll want to keep at it. I don't blame her, either. The lag still doesn't make any sense, though. It seems to be focused solely on her duoing, and trioing gives no lag at all. We'll have to try it again to see if it really is just duoing, but... ugh, it's bloody annoying, yeah? I just want her to be able to enjoy dungeoning as much as she can, but it's gonna be kinda hard if she lags out during every duo >.< Again, thanks for the reply. EDIT: Would just like to mention (since I didn't realize before) that this was the first floor we did at all on complexity 6. I'm unsure if (or why, for that matter) that would affect lag, but there it is. Any bit of info may be crucial to finding out if there's a way to avoid this lag.
-
Dungeoneering XP Loss and Lag
Nope, our friend left during the time she was resetting her prestige, so we were starting again from the lobby. The lag has been present for months now, and it only happens while we duo - nothing else lags at all for her, just dungeoneering. Thanks for the replies, though. Maybe we can figure out what the issue is. I sure as hell don't have any more ideas, lol.

Dungeoneering XP Loss and Lag
So, keeping this simple, since I'm considerably pissed off right now because of it... Myself and two friends (one just starting dungeoneering on the account she was on) were trioing the first few levels, to get her prestige up, continue like normal, etc. Our friend leaves, so we decide to duo and continue. The moment we try starting a new dungeon, we get an xp loss (one person -75% xp, two people -11% xp). Obviously, since there's only two of us, we're getting screwed out of xp regardless of what we do. After fiddling with the options, we can't get it to not eat our xp, so we suck it up and take the -11%. We start, and she immediately lags and whitescreens. She never lagged at all on the same floors in trio, now on duo, she lags out. She's also on broadband, I'm on dialup. I'm stumped as to why we're getting the xp loss - my friend is only level 8, so maybe that's it? It's never, ever done this before, and I've helped her on different low level accounts before, though. Any suggestions? Quite frankly, I'm severely pissed off at this. She's always lagged here and there on duos, but this xp loss makes no sense, unless Jagex did something. Apologies for the anger, I really can't help myself right now.

Minecraft General
To be completely honest, I won't install the entirety of Mo' Creatures because honestly, I have no effing clue how the hell to stop ogres for wtfpwning my base and then splatting me into the wall >.> I know they smash through walls made out of anything except obsidian (maybe I'm wrong on obsidian), so... Once I start moving my way back up to hard difficulty, I'll add them in and see what happens. I've lost my touch, combat wise. Peaceful made me lazy :P My current base has some issues. Building into the side of a cliff in a desert wasn't the most brilliant idea I've ever had, every once in a while I'll dig and cause a crapton of sand to fall on me >.< plus the distinct lack of grass (and therefore trees, and animals, and thus no food and armor) makes it that much tougher. The sole plus is there is dirt in the area, and obviously a lot of sand. So, in the process of making a greenhouse attached to my main base now. Also slowly starting to dig down, using the stone slab (aka half blocks) to form a proper staircase so I don't have to jump to go back up. I'm starting to improve combat wise again, though. Venturing outside during the night, assuming no skeles are nearby due to my lack of arrows, which I could fix if I wanted to dig up a gravel beach nearby, but... too lazy. Spiders are forever going to be able to get me in melee range, though. I can never get their attack patterns down to the point where I'm close enough to attack and not close enough to get pwnt repeatedly. Collecting as many bones as I possibly can now, though. The bonemeal will be useful for the really, really big building projects that I'll need a lot of coal(charcoal) for (either to smelt iron for tools, cobble into smooth stone, sand into glass, etc). There's a big freaking mountain nearby across the lake, so I'll likely head there once I have some diamond and such. Current mods loaded: Risugami's Mod Loader, Light Sensor block, Floodgate, Death Chest, Arrows, Sign Tags, Mob Spawner GUI, Wild Grass, MCRegion, and Optimine. If anyone wants a link, just ask :P I'll bring up my bookmarks and provide em. Don't wanna lengthen this post any more than it already is, lol. I'd also post screenies, but tbh, my base is kinda fugly (and tiny) right now, so... I'll wait :P it's only one room so far.

Minecraft General
Just came out of my new base and a creeper leaped down off the cliff my base is built into, and onto me. I am not a happy miner. Smartassery aside, I've started a new world, again. Tried going outside with a stone sword, no food or armor. On easy, but still >_> creeper mentioned before dropped on me and exploded nearby (no damage), and two more creepers exploded nearby. All on sand, so I have 3 big ass craters outside in the desert now. Made use of the bonemeal to end my wood shortage, though - spawned in a desert area, and no trees nearby except for one small one, lol. Gonna start digging down now. 2-3 days in, haven't found any more coal apart from what I got on the first day, and zero iron. Lots and lots of cactus, though... >.> But first, filling in those damned craters on my front (sand) lawn. Damned creepers, get off my lawn! *shakes fist from behind doors* Also, tool durability according to Minecraft wiki: Wood: 60 Gold: 33 Stone: 132 Iron: 251 Diamond: 1561 Glad to see it's been increased, although I wonder if he did it because of people complaining, or because he personally felt they were too low to begin with?

Slayer tasks.
Yeah, I meant that comment more in comparison between us, rather than between either of us and him >.< my mistake for not clarifying. I see your point though, for him he'd do good to block steels for the time being until he's high enough combat to deal with them somewhat efficiently. Observing my lower level slayer friend, I know how big of a difference combat levels and gear makes - it takes her about... two, two and a half minutes to kill an iron dragon, while I would take less than a minute (I think, going off memory).

Minecraft General
Erm, I thought the Beta 1.2_01 update fixed minecart tracks, Tim? Maybe he didn't fully fix it... huh. I know I saw it on his tumblr that he fixed it, though.
-
Slayer tasks.
Not much point in blocking steels if they die almost as fast as irons :P Turmoil + zspear + extremes rips through them pathetically easily. Still, it's personal choice - I don't find them any more difficult than irons to do.
-
Slayer tasks.
Pretty much what Transcript said, really. Whenever you get a new task, try it to see if you enjoy (or at least tolerate) it, and if you don't, block it. If you want to be as efficient as humanly possible, then yes, only block inefficient tasks regardless of your own personal feelings about some of the tasks you're stuck doing. Personally, I try to balance fun with efficiency as much as possible - I view slayer as a fun skill, so I won't grind away on tasks I just don't enjoy - blue dragons for instance, I absolutely hate due to how crowded it is whenever I get a task of them - I know Kura's dungeon isn't always crowded, but it almost always seems to be whenever I get a task -.- so, I tend to skip those. Hellhounds, kalphites, stuff that are either crowded or annoying to kill, I block. I was going to block terror dogs as well, but I realized they aren't as bad as they were when I was a noob, so I'll tolerate those now. Things I'll never block since I enjoy them too much and don't give a damn about them being efficient or not: metal dragons of any color. I find them fun, so I'll almost always kill them.

Crafting/Smithing
It's useful for those of us who enjoy helping others to make prom weapons, yeah :P other than that (assuming you are training in the most efficient manner possible), it doesn't have much use. I, however, don't dungeon efficiently at all >.> I do only solo (mostly), after all.

Minecraft General
The sole thing I can think of that the ghost comment refers to is the glitch I heard about people playing on peaceful and seeing aggressive mobs spawn and appear for a split second before disappearing - I read at least one post on the Minecraft forums about it, if I recall. Other than that, I have zero clue whatsoever >_> EDIT: And it's about time he fixed the little messages that pop up at the title menu so it doesn't always display "Finally Beta!". Now if only he could fix the control scheme refusing to save and reverting to wasd every time I shut Minecraft off, I'd be happy - I know it doesn't just happen to me, my friend gets it as well, and it annoys her to no end >.>

Crafting/Smithing
I personally smelted and crafted 83k gold ammies back when I was crafting, plus I was buying as many bstaves as I could to craft into air bstaves and resell. I'm unsure on the gp/xp for each type of bstaff, but I assume air is the best, and highest xp. Once I hit mid 90s crafting, I switched to green dhides, and then black dhide since I was impatient at around 97/98 for the last bit. I'd follow blade's advice and go blues, or just check for yourself which is the best gp/xp atm, though. And yeah, if I recall, superheat/smelting gold ore is about 130k xp/hr, but I'm not sure. Takes a good amount of focus, though. Grimy's spreadsheet for smithing and crafting is what I'd look at for the specific rates for everything - I wouldn't know now, since I got 99 crafting quite a while ago, and I'm still sitting just under 98 smithing (doing addy platebodies atm, no sc hammers because I hate doing sc, lol). ... Just pulled some figures off of the spreadsheets. Gold ore smelting is 71.5k xp/hr, and 2gp/xp. Superheat/smelt is 136.7k xp/hr, and 4gp/xp (surprised it was that cheap, tbh). Addy plates is 255.7k xp/hr, 9.8gp/xp (no sc tools), and with sc tools it's 197k xp/hr, and 5gp/xp (assuming that takes sc games into account). Crafting... air bstaff crafting is 137.5xp per staff, 3.7gp/xp (if you have the staves banked, it's 279.4k xp/hr). Green dhide is 276k xp/hr at 7gp/xp, blue dhide is 311.7k xp/hr at 6.8gp/xp. Not using sc needle, btw. Excuse the mass of numbers >_> hope I helped, lol.

If I recall from reading on the Minecraft Forums, sandstone disables a spider's ability to climb walls. Could be just [cabbage], though. In that case, make an overhang for your walls, or take out a block near the base - they can't climb it if it isn't a perfect vertical wall :P I've been lagging on Minecraft as well, seems to be regardless of view distance as well. I'm not entirely sure what happened with this update, but there is an optimizer mod on the forums (http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=132717) that was tweeted by one of Notch's people (possibly Jeb, I can't recall or find in my history) as helping with the issue. It's worth a shot, considering the same mod boosted my FPS by a good 10 FPS before this update to begin with. As for stone tools having increased durability, I didn't notice anything, but then again, I don't pay much attention to it anyway :P I'll poke around the wiki and in game to see what I can dig up later, if Dax hasn't done it by then. And that bonemeal + sapling thing I don't remember reading about >.> interesting, I wonder if it also influences the type of tree grown as well...

10-01-11 God Wars - The Ancient Prison
Yeah Cheefoo, I read the Wiki for that info. I won't believe it's actual fact till I see more evidence from other sources though. I'm at least that smart, lol :P I know the Wiki isn't 100% accurate (and less so this early on for newly released stuff), but it still raises questions. It still might be legit. Sole reason I was asking is because a friend was badgering me to find out, since she didn't have access to a computer at the time. Regardless, I'm curious if there's any sort of hidden bonus that wasn't listed in the Knowledge Base (either by accident or design). EDIT: Now that I'm thinking about it, the way the killcount mobs function with defence bonuses and it affecting their aggressiveness, I think that was an awesome idea - it's far more... I'm unsure, accurate, than using god items to protect yourself, or the 'combat level x2 +1 = no aggro' function. Unsure if that came out right, but I think you get the idea. In addition, left click attacking higher level creatures is good. Make it more common with mobs already in the game >.> it'd make it easier for me to kill things (metal drags, etc), that's for sure :P

10-01-11 God Wars - The Ancient Prison
I'm curious for proof of this 15% damage boost for Pernix and Virtus armor is true as well, really. How high would the potential damage boost go then? o.o Of course, there's also the question of what it's stackable with in terms of other gear... very curious. It's a shame I don't have the cash to afford anything (for good reason, considering the stats), or the stats/internet connection necessary to join a team to attempt this boss. Guess I'll have to sit on the sidelines and wait till it either drops in price, or I earn enough cash to buy a set straight up. I'd love to see some confirmation on the Pernix/Virtus sets having the set effect for boosted damage, though. One would need a screenie of the whole set equipped to see it, wouldn't they? Or would it be an invisible boost and can only be shown through experimenting with and without the sets? If anyone has spotted a screenie or a thread with info stating if the boosts exist or not, I'd love to see it, lol. Also, if there's a set effect for Pernix/Virtus, it would be logical (to maintain some similarity) for Torvas to have a similar set effect, but I'm unsure how proper it would be gameplay wise. Apologies if my post is jumbled, I'm a wee bit tired right now :P not to mention highly curious. In other news, dialup and World 2 don't mix. Went on thinking it'd be the best place to spot the new armors, and I get about a 4x4 square around me that actually shows people. Rest of GE? Blank. Awesome >_>
