  1. If you want realistic graphics, go play your Minecraft. If you want giant crystal lobsters represented by a giant, glowing D to come out of caves, rip your left shoe off your foot and beat you to death with it, go play Dwarf Fortress Adventurer Mode. If you want the above, but for it to happen to your minions and then watch the whole thing get rinsed by your "to hell with everything" magma trap that was activated by a raging minion displeased with the death of his cat, play Dwarf Fortress Fortress Mode.
  2. Part of the Impenetrable Learning Cliff of Dwarf Fortress. The game (without modding or tilesets) is ASCII. Which is why I beware any stray ampersands that don't seem to belong there.... You can get tilesets to make it less eye-burning, though. But the pros use the ASCII version, and mod it to have all sorts of weird stuff. Like +derpicorn meat roasts+.
  3. nty, the game is already idiot-proof enough  There's no such thing as idiot-proof. Come up with better idiot-proofing, and someone'll come out as a better idiot.
  4. It's like Minecraft, but instead of working solo, you have a bunch of manic-depressive alcoholic slaves to do your will. You have to make sure they keep themselves fed and drunk, though. And BEWARE THE CARP. Edit: I walk back into my room, put on headphones because I left Pandora running, and hear "hell, and rot inside a corpse's shell." At least I didn't get an earful of the creepy Thriller laugh this time, just one of the creepy lines. Heck, I probably even heard it wrong.
  5. The best way to learn is to BE A MAN and stick it out. I could probably answer any questions you got though.
  6. Hmm. I DID get a new graphics card for Christmas, which means Minecraft might actually work on my computer now... Now the question is: am I not-lazy enough to bother checking....?
  7. Been there, done that. Except I made my dwarves do it, and made it out of mythryl. A few even died in the process.
  8. Hmm. I wonder if the fact that I got a new graphix card would let me play minecraft... Then again, I'm a cheap nub, so I'd probably end up only playing the free version.
  9. That made my day. I don't even know what that game is, or what freekilling is, but it made my day.
  10. I, personally, am looking forward to sharing stuff with my friends; and starting a clan that lets you hire "bodyguards" for activities in the wilderness. PKers beware, now every cluescroller who walks near you will have a small squadron of counter-PKers and 1-iteming people there for the specific purpose of keeping you off the cluescroller. For a moderate fee, of course... :shades:
  11. Facebook's following you. It's been following us all all along.... RUN@@@@@@@
  12. 8.1 fire magic 2.2 crafting 0.3 water magic 0.2 throwing 0.3 healing magic Small pouch of salt Salted fish Eyepatch Dull glass spikes Glass caltrops Fireproof robes Engraved glass fire spear Treasure map on leather Twisted glass fire staff with mythril alloy arrowhead-tip A Ship No changes in inventory or stats, just still in that castle with Trent 'n' Briar diggin' for supplies and l00tz. Also, it sounds like an encounter between Jen and Colin seems.... inevitable.
  13. No [cabbage], I'm just saying that while ordinarily Dungeoneering would be fun, it's nothing compared to a Hegemony game. I don't know what part of my post you misread. I would say the opposite, tbh. Fun is relative.
  14. Nah, I think he used a complaint generator. Dusty used one back in the Tavern a while ago.
  15. Tavern's been sorta quiet for a week or so for me. Mostly because Ross hasn't done many Dungeoneering sessions, I'm not interested in the new Hegemony, and Archi has a tendency to start Space before I'm awake (and since when I'm late to Space sessions, I usually spend half the session standing there going "WHAT IN HELL IS GOING ON?!?"...) More on-topic, this place needs moar poast.
  16. Alcohol is lame. Never had any within memory, never intend to. Because I'm pro like that.
  17. I have a dream that one day people will be original and not rip off Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech!
  18. *wakes up* *reads last 5 pages* WHAT IN THE NAME OF CARP IS THIS *runs away in storkopter*
  19. Looking forward to seeing how Jagex intends to screw this set of updates up. On a less cynical note, I'm also looking forward to seeing what the new armor and bow can do. Also, lol cosmetic robes. I sense a new mintcake arising...
  20. So I'm practically an hour late, but yeah. Happy New Years and stuff. I spent the first hour of 2011 getting destroyed in Black Ops. It was fun.
  21. It had to be said... OVER 9000.
  22. Minecraft is for nubs. Real men play Dwarf Fortress.
  23. I think she means the days when she was respected out of having cool posts, instead of respect from fear of manga edits.
  24. I was 10. You REALLY think I cared what planet it was on? (And no, all the battles I managed to get to were in space.)
  25. In that case, I could never play NGS2. I just can't STAND games with a horrible camera, except for one... And that one requires a PC joystick to play, and isn't all that bad with the camera unless you hit the wrong button and somehow switch to R2-D2 view. I speak, of course, of the classic X-Wing game that's old enough to be on floppy disks. Haven't played it since I was 10.
