Those are fair concerns, I think. About the XPW, it's treated the same as any other link now. I think a few people have it advertised in their signatures, and there have been some helpful posters who have linked to equally helpful data on XPW. Posting the link to XPW's AHK thread does get removed though, so I understand that's probably still frustrating. (Mentioning or discussing the Dungeonsweepers app should be fine.) But the upside is that guides are permitted to reference or link-back to xp-waste.com for giving credit where it's due--to you guys--while still helping out the community at large. As for taking information, the Crew wouldn't rip guides without the consent of the authors. They might use it as a reference in their own research, though that's speculation on my part, but you don't have to worry about theft of your hard work. And if other users rip without contacting you first, the guide will likely be locked--same as everyone else. And when it comes to ownership, honestly...I can't ask anyone to simply 'forget' that kerfuffle. It was a nightmare for everyone involved. But if a user erases their guide, it gets locked like any other blank topic. It gives control in your hands, if that helps, and that will always remain the right of the user.
  2. No--but really, why not both? Dom tower wasn't that bad, and it can be expanded easily. Some of the ideas WoW has aren't that bad. Certainly don't hear anyone whining about the Grand Exchange...
  3. At the start, perhaps. But the possibilities out there for greater income per hr are overwhelming. If it can be achieved, it should be at least tried once. That's the whole point of educating and helping people :P

Why? Because when people say 'embryo' they think 'abortion'? There is a reason why I quoted Transcript's post.

  8. It was a question--since you have been the one the most knowledgeable I figured I'd ask. If lack of precedence is the issue then doesn't that play in Jagex's favor? Without precedence, don't they have more flexibility to go off bs morality and social impact in line with the law?

To be a human being is to have human rights. The issue debated when it comes to abortion is when that personhood begins. Many legislation stating that personhood begins at conception is shot down because people can't sift through their morality to pin down a definition.

It doesn't solve anything. At the point of birth, they are protected by human right laws.

What point are you driving at with such an exaggerated comparison?

The hardest thing I had to do was allow my mom's organs to be harvested after her passing. It wasn't my choice though, or my right to deny it. She helped people, and we aren't at the point yet where we can turn down organ donation. All the more reason to continue experimentation.

If a kid is irresponsible, it doesn't matter what happens, they'll justify it by whatever means necessary because they are, by your own definition, irresponsible. Those sorts of people would do whatever they want and grasp at any straw to lessen their own guilt. Life is paramount. It's sacred. So if there is no way to stop abortions as they are, why would we not grasp with both hands whatever we can to continue preserving and stimulating life? That seems like cutting off the nose to spite the face.

Aborting a baby is done because the person doesn't want the baby, not because they want to lather up in sweet sweet stem-cells a la futurama-style. Those stem cells are not people. Did suicide spike through the roof when organ transplants came to be?
  17. Kimberly replied to Da Pirates's topic in Off-Topic
If a fetus is already aborted, shouldn't we use it in whatever way we can, though? I doubt there are many fetuses that are aborted purely for the purpose of improving stem-cell research. I could be wrong with this, since it is purely an assumption, though. But if the fetuses are aborted anyways, shouldn't we use them? No, because it tries to put some kind of validation on abortion. No, you just think it does because you hold an unrealistic life-view that abortion will suddenly cease to exist. There is no reason to not use fetal stem cells if the fetus was already aborted. Allowing stem cells to be used would not affect precious legality on limiting or restricting abortions further for the same reason that 'pulling the plug' on organ-donating people in vegetative states with no hope of recovery would prevent harvesting vital organs. There is no slippery slope here. It's making the best of an already tragic situation.
  18. If it's evidence needed on successful prosecutions under DMCA, there's far too many suits winning for this 'scare tactic' to be quite successful in doing just that, isn't there?
  19. How much DOES it cost? Boyfriend has a Wii that he never uses (called it) and he never bought more games for it (also called it). He would prolly let me borrow it, if SS was cheap enough.

Stuff like that is really important for all DG'ers to learn though--the information you guys have and the times you're able to achieve are nothing less than astounding. I know it sounds a bit skewed considering I'm also part of TIF's staff, but as a DG'er wanting to improve and learn, I really wish information like yours was more widely available. :/
  21. I liked everything except the chin killing. Tormenting people because of their own stupidity? Hell, I'm all for it. But killing chins is just...pointless.
