Sorry, you were asking how to get the lamp so I assumed you meant how to get to the lamp in the center of the effigy :P The amount of experience you get from a Dragonkin Lamp depends on the level of the skill you choose.

You can try W117 at Daemonheim or busy cities in heavily populated worlds to find people who can assist you with the Req. Assist system if you don't have the required levels in the skills its asking for. Another alternative is "assist clan" cc, but you'll have a LOT more success searching on your own. The past 10 times I needed help, that chat was useless to me.

Probably because it would do more harm than good. Some users could get tricked into downloading malicious software disguised as the real program, and there's really no quick way to monitor it (staffies are already pretty busy) so probably the safest way would be to avoid it altogether. If they were truly interested, Google would probably offer a plethora of information available at their perusal. You have missed the entire point of why the majority is upset. The entire point. The points on this topic as to why this topic was so terribly reasoned have been spelled out, plain as day, by many rational people. Using the point "Oh well it won't affect me, stop being crybabies" is insulting and ignorant, since that's not what people are upset over. We all know nothing will change at this point. But by logically expressing arguments, which again have been done repeatedly damn near everywhere, we can hope that something like this won't happen again. We have shown Jagex how we feel on our terms, in the right way. Not with stupid riots, or spamming the RSOF. Here, in threads like this. Don't devalue it because you can't understand it.

I can't see the reason for using such expensive footwear anymore when adamant boots provide similar stats for far less money and impact on their overall risk. Maybe I'm a bit shortsighted though when it comes to this matter's affect on pking. I'll confess that what I know of pking comes from second hand accounts, albeit from decent pkers in their own right, but yeah.

I know, I'm just that amazing. Massive sarcasm laid to rest, look at the marketplace board here, on any other fansite, or on the RSOF. Do you see threads offering to buy climbing boots for 75k on any sort of regular basis? I know I didn't. The first question you're going to come to is "Well how the hell did they come up with that?" Since the GE won't let you sell items out of their price bounds, it had to come from these third party sources right? And the fact is that the prices we see and the prices Jagex saw just aren't matching up. The point is that it is hypocritical to justify one thing and tell us shame on us on abusing a glitch...then go on to condone another decision based on faulty logic and have the guts to tell us shame on us for 'overreacting'? The overreaction happens with every update. I would certainly hope though that now, after so many years, they can realize which are over reacting and which have legitimate complaints. To realize that "hey, this person may have a point! Was this decision really as logical as it could be? Was it in line with the principles we were preaching for so many years?" The answer would be no to all of those rhetorical questions, by the way. Same thing, yes. I didn't like that past update, either. But that's straying a bit from the point now, isn't it? Considering it was how many years ago and the game and its culture and principles have changed drastically since then?

May I please direct you to this post for one prime example? They were hoarded, merched, etc. Yes, it was a minority. This is why this will only be temporary. Like most of the issues with Jagex's decisions, it is not the action itself so much as the horribly faulty logic used to defend it, especially with poor decisions, as even you admit it to be. People are entitled to their anger, and if they aren't expressed in intelligent ways that cannot be dismissed (ie not rioting, spamming, threatening Jagex HQ like they had on the RSOF) then they will never know. And they need to know. They were cheap, easily obtainable boots roughly equivalent to Adamant Boots iirc?

It will balance out in the long term, yes. But they knowingly made a decision that would cause us suffer for months to come, justifying it with the fact that players supposedly bought boots at 75k each on a regular basis. Which is a flat out lie based on misinformation provided by what is likely to be a pitifully small sample size to base such a monumental decision on. When the penguins glitch came out, or the dragon bolt (e) glitch, or <insert moneymaking glitch here>, these things were frowned upon. We were actually told that we, as players, should be ashamed for willfully participating in things such as these. That we should've reported the bug. That it was the bad user's fault. Then, again based on faulty research, they agree to allow millions to flood into the community--and yes, it is millions--and ruin the economy. Hypocrisy...thy name is...justification. The justification? These people could've introduced this money into the economy at any time! Except they couldn't, and time sacrified by the buying party amassing junk to circumvent the GE would've balanced out with the money being gained by the seller. This flooded money into the game with no justification, no reasoning, thanks to a shop vendor who would buy them at an inflated price and an exorbitant alch price. The idiocy of this decision knows no bounds. And the sad thing? They truly did have their hearts in the right place, if their PR is to be believed (but hell, now even that is in question thanks to their stellar 'research' the PR mods are toting on about.) It's a slap in the face. I am not happy. But now there is nothing left but to take a big ol' bite of this crap sandwich and smile as if it's the most delicious thing in the world. It's too late to do a rollback now, almost 5 hours after the update. So I'd like to ask the community: how is that crap sandwich tasting? Would you like some ketchup for it? Because I'll lend you some of mine!

My face went something like this when reading that post.... Seriously, I just really can't get over this. Yes. Pouring billions--and no matter how small you say it was, it was billions of confirmed gold that was most certainly not possible to happen at any time because people don't buy 200gp boots for 75k.--into the economy is cool? Nah, dude, dude naw. How can they have so little self respect to claim they researched this? To lie straight to people's face, to say this is an exaggeration of the minority, to say we are simply overreacting? Surely the arrogance of the PR staff know no bounds.

Call me short sighted--and I'm sure I will be--but will untradable rewards really be such a saving grace? People boss hunt to make money, not gather untradable goodies. It would have minimal impact on the economy that way, yes, but people would not be pleased with it. I don't think that when they cry, "We need a new boss monster" that they care very much of their impact on the economy at lage, but rather their bank accounts. Another fast cash maker, since all the worlds around are currently packed to the gills, is all people want.

This has been Sony's strategy from day 1: do what you should've done from the beginning at least a year later. It's the thing that always costs them the console race. Always. It's a shame they still shoot themselves in the foot.

Thanks for the reminder but it's not something we've forgotten to do :) Though I'm sure you know best of all that there can be lots of behind-the-scenes work that is done in addition to normal patches of inactivity that come with exams and the like. ^^ EDIT: @Ankit: I've added something to the first post to address that. What you've missed depends on how long you've been gone. Dungeoneering has been the most recent skill, there have been a slew of Distraction and Diversion mini-activities released, Elemental Workshop 3 came out...Bunch of stuff. Focus Sight and Hexcrest for slayer (like black mask-styled items for slayer for mage/range.) #4 I'm not really sure how to approach. Can you be more specific? Your stats are good and I can't at a glance think of something to raise immediately because for slayer, the only thing you've mentioned you liked, you're set.

That's something I think you should take up with Das :P
