Oh GOD YES. Especially blitz. I'll start playing and waste an hour without even realizing it. I've never played farmville, though. It just looked dumb to me, tbh. Habbo Hotel. People are surprisingly stupid.

I'll be going to Canada for the weekend with a bunch of my friends. Drinking and gambling for the whole weekend... should be fun.

I'm assuming you'll never travel on an airplane, then. Or in a car. Since humans are obviously not intended to move that fast. Also, if it's incredibly unnatural, explain homosexual animals.

Agreed. The GE should charge some sort of convenience fee (a certain percentage of the final value of the item) that should be paid by both the seller and buyer. Even if it was a small percent (<1%) , it would still make a difference because of the volume of trades that go through the GE.

I've heard that explanation, but it leaves out too many details. First, the only part about the radioactivity that was added later was the radioactivity found at the site, and that was learned through the Soviet government's own files. Second, radioactive clothing was referenced at the very early on, as it was first reported. The trauma does't point to an avalanche, either. An avalanche is not a bunch of soft fluffy snow; it's ice shards, rocks, trees, dirt, and a whole bunch of nasty sharp stuff. There's no way they would have been caught in an avalanche without doing at least minor damage to their skin, but there was NOTHING. And none of this explains what scared them out of the tent in the middle of the night, scared them so badly they didn't bother to grab a coat. Definitely wasn't an avalanche, because the campsite was intact. I'm not saying an avalanche is the absolute answer, but I have a hard time believing that aliens attacked them (then left with no trace) just for S&G's. Edit: Yes, they were found as soon as they realized something was wrong. They were going on a trip and one friend left early. There would have been no need to worry if they weren't present in their normal lives until after the trip should have ended (18 days after their friend left).

I'm glad my abundant cracked.com knowledge can come into play. [hide]So there's six things that freak people out about this one: 1. The no-tongued woman 2. A mysterious orange tan on the dead bodies 3. The ripped tents 4. The hikers' lack of clothing 5. The crushing damage done to three of the hikers 6. The traces of radioactivity The big fact that gets lost in the re-telling of this story is that the bodies weren't found until weeks later. It's not like somebody turned their back, then five minutes later all their friends were dead and half naked. That makes the missing tongue a lot easier to explain. As disturbing as it may be, the first thing a scavenging animal is going to go for is probably the soft tissue of an open mouth, especially if it still smelled like the burrito the hiker just ate. Laying out in the sun surrounded by white snow for days also accounts for the weird tan. The trauma and the destroyed tent points to an avalanche. Their state of undress can be explained by paradoxical undressing, a known behavior of hypothermia victims when their brains start to freeze and malfunction. In other words, it's the kind of behavior you'd expect from a group of injured avalanche victims wandering around in the middle of the night in the freezing cold. What about the radioactivity? Or stranger details that turn up in some accounts, like orange lights in the sky? Well, there's the fact that none of that stuff turns up in the original documents from the incident, and appears to have been added later by people who just can't resist making things spookier than they are. It's those later accounts that have stuck in the public memory, because so many of the original reports were destroyed (this was the Cold War-era Soviet Union, which treated casserole recipes as state secrets). So none of the details on their own prove anything other than a tragic hiking accident. The conspiracy-loving public widely reject this, too busy lighting their torches and getting their pitchforks to go hunt down an, "unknown compelling force." Otherwise known as "snow."[/hide]

Arrest me for what? For drinking underage. Seriously, just pay it and be done with it. Trying to plead it down will just result in a bigger annoyance for you. That's only a ticket and they will give you a ride home if you need. Oh, I didn't see you're in Canada. In the US you can get arrested for underage drinking.

Just pay it and be glad he didn't arrest you. It's your own fault for being an idiot and bringing an open container in a car.

Removal of new high level potions in PvP
mlclm replied to The Observer's topic in General Discussion
Agreed. PvPers are a very small minority in the entire population, but (for some reason) Jagex seems to be going out of their way to please them. It annoys me to no end. -
There was a huge controversy surrounding Linkin Park because they were listened to by the Columbine shooters. It pretty much acted like an immense PR campaign and got a lot of people listening to their music.
-
inb4 the music becomes mainstream Anyone remember what happened to Linkin Park after Columbine?
-
Heh, glad I'm not the only one. Although I do suffer from depression, I have thought about suicide when I was feeling fine because of the "What comes after?" question. Obviously, I didn't go through with it, but really only because there's likely no way I would be able to share the knowledge I'd gained. Hrm, maybe I could find a House-like doctor who would kill me then bring me back, just for S&Gs.

Herblore is a non-combat and it now has a pretty substantial impact on combat situations.
-
Not really. Alcohol is allowed, but the gov't isn't liable for any shenanigans we get in when we're drunk. Honestly, it's probably only a law because there's the opportunity for it to produce revenue for local/state gov'ts.
-
I'd imagine insurance rates would increase if such laws didn't exist, though I do agree that if someone wants to act like an idiot and not wear it, that's their prerogative.

Cause what we need more of in this game is stupid little quests to unlock every update? I thought I was the master of complaining about bad updates, but you seem to have found a way to whine about even this amazing update. If they had made a quest you would have complained it wasn't long enough. Not every update covers every aspect of the game. But new ingrediants would create a new market with its own prices. Using the same old tired herbs and items for tertiary ingredients simply increases the expense of both old and new potions. Furthermore, the potions that are required for the new potions are going to increase in price- along with the ingredients. Me, I'm kinda peeved all this is not tradeable. What if you don't like combat? What use are all these high level potions for you? And what about profit? Let's torture ourselves, spending sixty or so million gp and countless hours getting high level herblore for a handful of potions! Don't get me wrong- high level potions are a great incentive to level up, but by making them untradeable, most players will never feel their benefits. You and Libs are both right, they should have created new herbs/ingredients, or maybe even tied it in with another skill (new monsters/items only gained through farming/wc/etc.). However, they did a very good job making these untradeable because it truly makes them high level content. You can't plop down 20k and get one of the potions, you need to train other skills to make and (to an extent) use them. It's a good road they're going down. Soon enough, the best equipment won't be acquired by purely buying it, but through training other skills.

I never even really undestood that I remember just flooding to varrock castle lol did players even get free membership for revealing what happened? or was that just to milk answers As far as I know (don't quote me on this) they got the answers they wanted and didn't do their-end of the bargain (basically got the answers and didn't give membership). I think they actually banned the ones who came forward. lol

[hide][/hide] Just randomly firefox will display that page (the internet connection isn't the problem) and sometimes it will fix itself when I press "Try Again," but other times I have to go back and try to access the page again (which can be annoying if I was submitting work). Anyone know why this happens? It's the newest version, I don't remember the exact numbers.

Not really seeing as the only income from f2p comes from adverts and as time goes on, there will be a lot more and better ad-blocking programs or companies might start to realize that internet ads aren't worth it. In either situation, no matter how many updates Jagex provides or the increase in players will save f2p.
-
You're right. If we weren't covering all expenses F2P has, they would find a way to increase revenues from F2P. Well, I would if it was my game, anyway. They are doing thats how there making a 7% profit, if they were just covering costs it would be 0% profit and if it was losing money it would be -7% (for example) so it is making some money, thats why it kind of annoys me when members say that they dont contribute towards JAGEX, they do, it's just not out of there own pocket. OK, first off, revenue != profit. There's no way in hell that the entire amount of revenue is pure profit. And before I was speaking from memory of this topic when I said that f2p was pretty profit-neutral, and I must have remembered it wrong. However, with so little information about their finances, it's difficult to say whether f2p is operating at a profit or a loss. If it is turning a profit, I doubt that it still will in a couple years which would probably deter the developers from updating it.

Skilling against manipulation: A viable solution?
mlclm replied to knight10071's topic in General Discussion
This wouldn't work because any decent merch clan only does items that players can't make or get large amounts of quickly for exactly this reason. The reason barrows, fremmy rings, dragon drops, infinity, etc are merched so frequently is because if they did anything from a production skill, they're just asking for trouble, no matter how big the clan's bank is. -
No, LSP is evenly distributed. The amount of LSP a player will receive is the value of the drop divided by the number of players lootsharing. If everyone got LSP equal to the value of the drop, and not just a fraction of it, then anyone who has missed a divine would be able to get about 10 hilts at GWD before their LSP even get close to 0. LS is completely equal to CS, but rather than getting the coins now, you get them later.

The resurrection of the old duel arena. Many of my best days were there. : Also, inb4 sailing.

I could care less about how I'm supposed to say it.
