11-Jan-2010 - Nomads Requiem
An hour? Hardly. It can be done in 10 minutes. Sure. If you succeed in two attempts. This fight is hard, and you can't argue against that. It was obviously designed to take more than 3 tries to complete, and anyone not well versed in combat will have more than a hard time completing this quest. It takes over 5 minutes per attempt, 10+ minutes taking into account the time it takes to gear up, set up inventory, get there, and cry over dieing again. A few of my 130+ friends that duo corp with me died over 5 times with full brews + Yak, and they had overloads + turmoil. It's going to take more than 10 minutes for the average player. What is the point of having difficulty ratings on quests, and then making a new category for the most difficult quests, when they aren't really that difficult? "Pain-in-the-[wagon]" = Annoying as [cabbage] because it's all busy work and no skill. "Difficult" = Challenging and requires new tactics. And there are people who kill him on the first try without high prayer or Herblore. Or without spending a million on supplies. OK then...? There are level 90's that can solo corp. Also, if Chuck Norris has 5 dollars and you have 5 dollars, Chuck Norris has more money than you. Obviously, my point was simply that this is going to look like a really weak "grandmaster" quest later on, given that it kinda does now. So will every other quest, boss monster, and skill in the future. I don't see what you're trying to point out here. Edit: A guy above posts a screenie of him killing the guy in CW armor. Can the rubber chicken be far behind? ;)

Failed Zerker
Yea... Sadly, the defense level kills it. If it was 40, you could've gone for a rune zerker and used 70 prayer for piety. You'll have to start a new zerker or just make your account into a well-rounded pker with 50 defense, 70 prayer, and 80 attack.

11-Jan-2010 - Nomads Requiem
Yep. Which is why this big bad boss fight has no teeth. Think about this for a second, though. I've judged from reading on many forums that most people require three or more deaths before they are able to beat him. If you lost your items every time, it would be extremely frustrating for many, many people. As it is, you spend quite a bit on supplies for each attempt. They wouldn't necessarily have had to make it so you lose all your items. But right now you lose *none* of your items. It's quite possible to kill him using inexpensive gear. If you kept your standard three or four items then it would have been quite doable. This is supposed to be a "grandmaster" quest, and let's face it -- the quest itself was rather weak. The only real challenge was supposed to be the guy at the end. Only there *isn't* much of a challenge, you just throw some potions at him and down he goes in a couple of tries. Also consider how well this quest will "wear" over a couple of years. I mean, there was a time when beating TzTok-Jad was considered a major accomplishment, and now guys do it with rubber chickens. After a year or two of additional updates this quest is not going to age well.. None of your items, except literally an hour of straight fighting along with 100k+ per try in supplies. A Grandmaster quest doesn't need to be a pain-in-the-[wagon]. Most people don't have extremes/soul split/90+ cb stats, and those are the people I've been hearing that have had to try killing Nomad 10+ times. That's over 1M in supplies from just *trying* to kill him. Just think how many people Jagex would piss off if they made it so those 10+ tries translated into 300k+ deaths (AT LEAST) every time. Also, in a few years, there will be harder quests for people to try and beat. That's how a game works. There's also going to be a rework in combat, so combat is going to be a lot more balanced, which means this quest will actually be more difficult to complete in the future (considering melee/range will be reduced in power).

Ouch, you're actually pretty unlucky not have gotten a sigil in all of that. Nice loot though.

11-Jan-2010 - Nomads Requiem
I think Nomad might be harder than corp in a lot of ways.. 1. corp don't have a freaking attack that hits you for 98 that you have no way of dodging or praying against 2. corp doesn't lay landmines that hits 40s around you 3. corp doesn't make clones of itself -.- 4. corp doesn't magically heal 1/4 of its hp 5. you can actually run from corp, there is just no way out of the boss room after you start the battle. 6. corp doesn't go berserk and hits like nuts with 1/4 of its hp left Corp has higher defense, a damage reducer, 2k HP, cores, and can only be damaged with a stab weapon. Nomad doesn't even compare.

11-Jan-2010 - Nomads Requiem
Considering the quest is short, it's perfectly fine to have a horribly difficult boss fight in there. If you solo/duo corp, this is just a normal fight. Also, it's a good thing there are gravestones. The fight itself is challenge enough, and I'm assuming Jagex knew that fact (for some reason) and decided it was fair to let players use their best gear without fear of having to lose it upon death.

A month or 2 in P2P - What to do in this time?
Your Sig... Is amazing... Please... I bow down to you... I seriously watched that thing go for like 10 minutes, lol. Epic OT now... hmmmm... train range, atk, str, and def with pest control so you don't have to train it slowly in F2P.

Raising Summoning
Get 69, not 68. Fruit bat is almost as good as a Unicorn, so go for that.

Inventions.
Men can produce milk at birth, but they lose that ability shortly thereafter.

Worth spending ~145m on Overloads?
And obviously if there was a "Chaos Druid Plunder" game, we wouldn't be having this discussion right now. :) But this is part of why Pyramid Plunder is widely viewed as having cheapened Thieving -- it gives too much XP too easily with little or no cost (other than lost profit from other Thieving activities.) But there is no such option for Herblore, so we do have to make choices. Apologies, that was a bad example to use. I forgot that Zammy mixes are one of the potions where I don't use the GE price. Runewiki always uses GE prices (which I don't agree with, because the GE prices are nonsense for many potions). So we get different values. Still, there are other examples. Anyway, my point is not that slower and cheaper options are better, just that they do exist, and they make sense for those who view Herblore as an overwhelming hugely expensive skill. Sorry for teh spam, Mods, but Qeltar, I'm curious, which prices do you use for your guide then? Street prices or "DIY prices"?

Hand Cannon
Anytime. The spec makes it more likely to break. At your fm level, expect it to break after 300 shots or so. I've had my cannons break in like 20, so it's pretty much random.

Fire blast as KO?
Mage is only good for low levels, when 16 damage can absolutely pwn everything that moves. At your level, use range + 2h/rune B axe. B axe is faster, so you can combo more quickly. It's also cheaper :D

Training Herblore
Dwarf Weeds are 90k/hour

Balmug at waterfiends?
You'd be better off using Ancient staff + Rune Defender. Balmung epically pwns against Dagg Kings, but that's its only use (other than mass STR training on daggs, which whip can't do).

I have that same problem all the time. When I hit with ZS at corp, ss doesn't stay consistent, even though HP exp changes by the same amount. Either a glitch or Jagex can't do maths. I don't get it SS is supposed to heal 1 HP per 4 hits done to an opponent, but I've never had it come out exactly equal to that. Sometimes I'll hit 50+, but barely heal 10 with SS on, when I should've healed well over 10HP. It's weird.

What's better to do with my stats?
Hmm good point now you've almost convinced me not to cs anymore lol My logic in infallible! Lol. This is assuming you have the patience/skills to go to Armadyl GWD or TD Massacres after acquiring said lsp from Corp LS.

Worth spending ~145m on Overloads?
You don't need to clean herbs. Knock yourself out. I already know what is possible, because I spent over 100 hours researching, testing and documenting dozens of methods in December. And it *is* possible to get decent (>50k/hr) XP in Herblore without spending millions per hour. You just have to use your brains. [qeltar]Or buy membership from my site for very low cost[/qeltar] Lol, jk. I love capitalism, too.

What's better to do with my stats?
No, it's that, in a team of 8 people, an LS split ely/divine is more than enough to get an Armadyl Hilt + Armor or a sigil of your own from a corp mass. When I go to corp, I don't go for coinshare splits that I can get from Armadyl GWD for less effort/supplies.

mtk help
Well, if you're gonna do that, make sure you take out your money before your membership expires. I suggest putting 10 in farming and the rest on maples. You might get lucky, you might not, but it's worth it. You'll double your money everyday, so it's a free 75k everyday. Put in some cash now, and take it all out along with the supplies you get before your membership expires.

Why does everyone want mint now???
It may be underpriced for it's rareness, but as far as a useful item goes it can be easily replaced my a few doses of super energies. It's only as valuable as people accept it to be. If people need some random item to be valued as junk in order to partially bypass the trade limits (Which may be legitimately restricting in many situations, don't get me wrong) then hey, whatever, it itself is of little use to the actual game however. Just like Easter Eggs/Pumpkins can be replaced with Tuna...? Mint Cakes are hard to obtain very quickly, so therefore they have a high price tag. Since when has usefulness translated directly into a higher price? Do you know why ZGS costs more than a BGS? Please guess.

Mint Cakes
I guess I still hold out hope that Jagex will one day realize how much of a mess the economy is right now -- and that the current mint cake situation is indicative of that mess -- and deal with it properly. I'd prefer a more holistic redesign of how the GE works, but I can see them taking specific stop-gap measures against merchants and manipulation clans, and deflating the value of mint cakes is a pretty easy way to do it. Uggghhh.... wtf now... Deflating the value of mint cakes/making them easy to obtain does absolutely NOTHING. They're just a new item that's used to bridge the gap between items are that unbuyable on the GE. If they're gone, nothing happens. Items that were bought/sold with mints just wont buy/sell anymore on the street or GE since the only purpose mints have in the market right now is provide a sort of collateral for junk or rares. Mint cakes wont crash on the GE, so they're very stable currency in terms of GE price. Street price always fluctuates, but no item is safe from that sort of change. Mint cakes are different from most other items because they wont crash on the GE for the next few months. They serve the same purpose animal masks did a while ago. What I don't understand is why people have an issue against mint cakes. They don't represent a problem in the economy, and I don't see the purpose of claiming that they are. Mint cakes are an ingenious way to get around price caps and are only a boon to the economy. People can actually buy/sell Santa Hats, H'ween Masks, Edibles, etc now because mints give people the power to get past faults in the GE. There's obviously a simple way to fix this "problem," which would be to have the GE update more readily during the day when things are being bought-out or sold en masse. Jagex already stated that doing so could make people lose a lot of money, and since this game isn't supposed to be based around money, I don't see Jagex making those changes.

CS Corp is just... Blasphemy... But that's just me. I suggest you do CS corp, unless you have great gear/patience/extremes. You can do without extremes/overloads in ffa, but you'll be severely handicapped.

First time at Sara GWD...
You must have a ZGS or AGS to get into pro teams. Full veracs alone or full veracs + a stupid GS wont get you into any decent Sara GWD team. None of the teams I join take anything other than AGS/ZGS, whether you have veracs or not.

Why does everyone want mint now???
You know... It's not just the merchanters... The item is rare, under priced on the GE, and fairly hard to get, all of which gives it a high value street-wise. It's not like the all-powerful czars of world 2 got together and said, "Hey, let's make some random [cabbage] really overpriced and get the entire Runescape population to follow along." I'm sure a lot of you think it's like that, but it's not... People will continue to use it as a form of collateral as long as it's under priced, which it will be for a long time. That goes for any item. There's nothing wrong with using an item other than GP as a medium of exchange, so I don't know why everyone's [bleep]ing about mint cakes.
