  1. Updated anime list: http://i5.minus.com/iHDNIkZThzakM.png Either Urobuchi is trying to pull another bait and switch with us like he did with Madoka or he's been kidnapped and forced to work against his will. Gargantia's summary almost made it sound like a slice of life show. I can't see him expecting to fool anyone anymore, though.... I mean everyone who watches any anime at all knows what the Urobutcher does.
  2. -RPG-Maker games are usually good for that (there will be occasional moments where you need real-time reflexes but if you die while grinding that's what saves are for. -Visual novels are just about the kings of "pick your own pace" gameplay, if you're into those. -If you browse Kongregate or a similar site I'm sure they'll have a turn-based strategy game you'll like.

    Today...

Last night I had a very lucid nightmare in which I was hallucinating that there were dead bodies and dismembered cats all around me. I was also running extremely late for college and had missed three classes. Out of the two, the second upset dream-me far more. Like I was panicking over the classes and just vaguely annoyed at the fact that my house was covered in gore. In other news I have two sparring tournaments coming up and I'm pretty excited.
  4. Personally I'd never date a girl who couldn't wrestle a bear while calculating a rocket's speed and trajectory based off of its thrusters and aerodynamics, all while maintaining her girlish figure and cracking witty but unoffensive jokes. If she can't manage that it's not even worth the effort, man. OT: I think I'm improving my "actually talk to people and don't be a social hermit" strategy lately. I still don't talk to many people before lectures and such, but I think that's accountable to the fact that I'm sitting two seats away from the nearest person in a room full of at least a hundred people. It's kind of an asocial environment. Outside of that though I try to say something to diffuse the tension in any situation where I'm waiting with random strangers, and it's starting to become more natural now. Baby steps, right?
  5. Wait so that was a fake list? On the one hand I'm disappointed since Mi-kun/Ma-chan looked legitimately good, but on the other I'm relieved that we should have a better lineup. Who knows maybe the gods will smile upon me and grant me that show anyways. From the TV Tropes page I vote for Susei No Gargantia because it's by the Urbutcher and thus is guaranteed to be brilliant. (The man followed up Madoka Magica with Fate/Zero so I'm just going to assume everything he writes is gold.) I'm also going to be watching To Aru Kagaku No Railgun S, but that's more of a guilty pleasure.... (Although if this season stays true to the manga it will be a lot better than the first was.)
  6. ^Sure. If they're good we can all gush over it, and if they end up sucking we can rail on them for that. Wait, almost everything on that list looked like a fan-service fest.... Is this just going to be the theme of this season...? Usotuki Mi-kun to Kowareta Mi-chan Totteoki no Uso looks potentially interesting though, although there is no chance in hell I will remember its name.

Started reading the Dangan Ronpa let's play on the Something Awful forums, and the moment I get hooked they lock the site and put the "must buy an account for $10 to read forums" thing up again. I wish I had eight more arms so that I could hold up more middle fingers right now. Requiring registration to view a forum is alone a ridiculous notion, but requiring payment is just more than I can handle.
  8. As far as I understand keyboard+mouse controls are a lot more precise and better for combat than a controller once you get used to them. But then I was raised on a keyboard and barely even know how to use a controller so I'm a bit biased. In other news, I almost lost my hardcore mode map today. I was working on the outer walls of my house when a creeper popped up two blocks away from me and took out 8 1/2 hearts with his explosion. Had I not invested in iron armor I'd have lost the map.... A sign to be more cautious? The good news is that my wall survived the point-blank explosion with minimal damage, and now it's halfway complete (thickness-wise). Also my underground tree farm actually ate a chunk of the ceiling away and wasted at least 15 torches by growing a tree that was taller than the ceiling. Since when was that even possible?

Personally I like boston cream pie. The pie that is basically a cake.
  11. On the other hand sometimes not having sex with a clingy person (the type who will accept the terms thinking they can change your mind) is the best idea, lest you end up with a psycho stalker or something.
  12. Personally I can only build in survival mode. Creative's limitless resources tend to make me get really silly. Aka if I have the option to build a house out of solid diamond I just can't stop myself despite it being a stupid idea.
  13. Wait which one of these maniacs is Noxx?

^Yeah but that's why we all secretly consider you to be sub-human. Been working on my costume for an upcoming convention all day. It's going to be themed after the divide between nature and technology, with the right side being covered in steampunky-ness and the left being very natural. So far it's going swimmingly.
  15. I just realized that a misandrist is Langzor. Well that was a shock.

And once you've seduced them with delicious pie you can spill pie on them so they have to change clothes. In your bed. With you.
  17. ^I legitimately cannot wait and am as we speak in the process of learning Japanese and selling my belongings for plane tickets to Japan. Started Cowboy Bebop today. I honestly never expected to enjoy an anime about space cowboys this much. Edit: You guys should appreciate this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdsHNNZ3VWs
  18. I am never ever ever going to match the builds you guys make. You make all of my projects look like puny hovels. Recent thing I discovered: We all known that you can hit a creeper and then back up before it can explode. However, you can actually hit it twice if you time it right. Hit the creeper the first time while moving forward, then immediately hit it again (aka spam M1) and jump backwards as you do this. The combination of your fast backing up and the extra knockback of a second hit will prevent it from exploding. If you're certain three shots can kill it, you can actually get three hits off before it explodes (if you start swinging the moment you're in range). Now all I need to do is to figure out how to make those aimbots skeletons not hit me when I'm charging them.
  19. I figured a topic for these would be great for sharing any new ones we found, as well as discussing existing ones. But what is RPG-Maker? RPG-Maker is a program for making roleplaying games that has gained a lot of popularity as of late, and has generated some really fantastic games. A lot of these originate from Japan, with fans making English translations for free (vgperson is probably the most famous of these translators due to several of his games being played by Pewdiepie and the quality works that he tends to go for). Games made using these sometimes require the installation of the compatible RPG-Maker program. I'm pretty sure games using Wolf RPG Maker DON'T require a specific installation of it, but I may just be unable to find the program in my computer so if you can't play Ib, Mad Father, Misao, and Crooked man I'll dig around a bit more. [hide=RPG-Maker Games I know of] -The Witch's House ( http://vgboy.dabomstew.com/other/witchhouse.htm ) A young girl is forced to explore a strange house filled with an array of deadly traps. It has a very worthwhile ending, and if you only play one of these games I implore you to try this one. (Requires RPG Maker VX RTP, which is on the same site.) -Mad Father ( http://vgboy.dabomstew.com/other/madfather.htm ) A young girl awakens in the middle of the night to find her home infested with monsters. Also her dad is a psychopath. -Misao ( http://vgboy.dabomstew.com/other/misao.htm ) A young girl tries to deal with the fact that her highschool has be overrun by zombies and evil spirits. Made by the same person as Mad Father ( it's an earlier work of theirs, and a bit lower quality). -Ib ( http://vgperson.tumblr.com/post/20738417203/ib ) A young girl visits an art museum and, predictably, things go horribly wrong. (Personally this one isn't my favorite, but it has a pretty big following for an RPG Maker game.) -Crooked Man ( http://vgboy.dabomstew.com/other/crookedman.htm ) A young man moves into a new apartment and strange things begin to occur. ...Yeah most of these star young girls, make of that what you will. Most of these that I play I get from VGPerson's blog (I've found a few others but they were rather unimpressive) so that's why all of the ones I linked here were translated by him. [/hide] Does anyone else here play these and/or have others to suggest?
  20. ^The movie is NEXT MONTH? YES.
  21. In the first picture he has his right hand up, and in the second he's raising his left hand.
  22. Claim to be a woman crossdressing as a man when she he makes that revelation.
  23. I google "x episode 1 sub" and click through the results until I find one with decent quality. I highly doubt most of the anime streaming sites I use this way are legal, but I'm not TRYING to find illegal versions so.... Another downside would be risk of shoddy sites injecting viruses, but I have a godly antivirus program so I can get away with living dangerously. Crunchyroll is probably the best as the ads aren't too bad (it's less ad time than you get from tv, and you can just browse a forum during them) and you don't need to worry about it being a 240p stream. Unfortunately Crunchyroll can't access every anime as it's a legal website, so sometimes you just have to make due.
  24. I'm going to hold this against every Japanese person I meet from now on.
  25. Just marathon-ed Deadman Wonderland, and the fact that it was a flop in Japan makes me further further doubt their collective sanity. Now I think I'll finish off Nichijou to help me get over all the death.
