  1. ^Yeah the premiere I went to didn't show it either. It made for an awkward moment as no-one left the theater when the movie supposedly "ended" because they knew the Homura epilogue was coming, and then we sat through the second credit set in hopes of a sneak peak as the theater staff shot us dirty looks. Luckily there are rips of it on Dailymotion and other video sites.

I made a Valentine's Day card for all of you!
  3. "Sky diving accident" as in a sky diver accidentally falls on you and breaks your back. Loopholes, man. Still, knowing your day was not yet due would make heroic acts ("sacrificing" yourself to save someone, etc) a lot more appealing.
  4. ^That's a good point. If you can't die until the specified date does that mean you could just go pick a gunfight with a small country and be guaranteed to survive it? Because I would abuse the hell out of that.
  5. ^Our navy and airforce are superior to single countries. To the combined forces of the world? Forget it. Canada would just have to stall long enough for China and Europe to catch us from both sides at once. And then Mexico would rebel/get backup from South America and the US would be boned so hard Americans wouldn't even have time to blame Congress.
  6. Can I just point out that it's hilarious how many animes are based on porn games?
  7. ^It all depends when this started. If it just came into effect today bears would be obliterated. But if it applied to all creatures throughout history (assuming mankind even came into existence as this would massively change the course of evolution) then mankind wouldn't have lasted very long. Stone age tech < Sentient bears. And does "creatures" include microscopic ones? Sentient amoebas sound scary as all [bleep] when you consider the damage they could potentially do.
  8. -The US would be overwhelmed and would either be nice and be taken over, or would nuke everything and everyone would lose due to fallout nearly wiping out the human race. -I'd choose when. Better to dread a date than to fear doing something. And if it's soon I'd know to get a move on experiencing more. -Likely still primates, although if insects had human level intelligence (how would that work?) they might just overrun everything with sheer numbers. Although if you mean from the start, then it'd probably not be primates as our intellectual advantage was literally all we had over, say, bears for a large part of history. Wooden spears wouldn't do much against an organized bear army.
  9. So Air and Kanon are tragedies? I'll have to watch them, then. I recently finished FMA Brotherhood (brilliant show) and am now working on Shadow Star Narutaru. Shadow Star seems to be doing a Madoka-esque bait and switch but it worked less well because it's based on a manga (also it has the slowest pacing I've ever seen in a 12 episode series).
  10. Wait isn't firing blanks in a public area illegal anyways? Because of potential issues of mass panic (like yelling fire)? Or is the government legally allowed to have less sense than a drunken frat boy?
  11. Often times guys slut shame out of jealousy or the [bleep]/madonna complex as well. But you can do more to fight bullying than just not associate with bullies. When you think about it, racism and all other forms of discrimination are forms of bullying (albeit often more serious than what we often use the word bullying to represent) and had people taken a passive "just don't associate with racists" approach then the black rights movement may have never gotten off it's feet. The first step to killing any form of bullying is to try to make it unpopular (or at least SEEM unpopular) as the majority of bullies only will abuse you for something if they think they can get support for it. But without regularly whining and complaining about the unfairness of a form of bullying that won't ever happen (or if it does it will be painfully slow). It's more or less impossible to change people who for whatever reason straight up despise some group, but you can affect the ones that are just along for the ride a lot more easily.
  12. Honestly I'd like to see them try to court martial someone for shooting them when they did that. I mean if I pull out a gun full of blanks and start shooting at cops they'd be justified in shooting me back. So vice versa should obviously apply.
  13. Woah, what? This is crazy.

Good on you, Tim. Glad to see you're getting away from that. I have a midterm in my Alexander the Great course tomorrow and I'm woefully under-prepared. Combining that with the fact that it's a 382 course and I'm a freshman I'm a tad bit nervous.
  15. I honestly doubt the mods will care as long as we stay mature about it. Frankly I see slut shaming as a remnant of old religious values that basically said "if you have sex you're evil". Like with lust being one of the seven deadly sins in Catholicism. Judging that a woman having lots of sex won't hurt anyone else (unless she's cheating or using people, but those can be done without sex), it's pretty dumb to alienate her for it.
  16. ^That's true, I guess. Personally I don't mind listening to a cab driver babble on about pointless things because it'll be better to listen to that than do nothing. But then I'm sure not everyone would share that opinion. Especially if they brought something to do.

It's a shame that our board's health is shackled indirectly to Jagex's game decisions. But I think we've also got a while left to survive, even if we're dying. It'll be slow and painful, not quick and clean.

Windshield wipers broke today in the middle of the storm all of us in the Northeast US are getting. It was not a pleasant experience.
  19. Pretty sure no-one criticized your spelling, highlanders. Or at least if they did it was pretty goddamned subtle. Personally I've always liked talkative cab drivers. It helps dull the monotony of the journey to exchange words, but they'll hold up your end of the conversation if you're not in a talking mood. Also I can really understand why they want to talk- driving people around in awkward silence all day sounds hellish.
  20. ^The second arc is a pretty big letdown in my opinion, but it's still not bad enough to be a waste of time. I finished FMA and am now working my way through Brotherhood. I feel like the original anime must have pissed of the manga fans a lot....
  21. Wait, so three periods is not technically an ellipsis? Everything I knew was a lie.

I'd love to see him drag it all into a post office.

Holy shit. I had a story about my day but that auction made me forget about it.
  24. But if you trail of at the end of your sentence then it's either 2 punctuation marks (ellipses + period) or four....

    GOOD LUCK
