  1. I prefer putting my punctuation outside of quotations because putting it inside makes things make less sense. Ex: Did he say "I was flying?" That implies that the quoted person asked if they were flying, which could be entirely false. Compared to: Did he say "I was flying"? Which makes it obvious that what he said was a statement, and you're asking about the statement. Punctuation inside quotation creates more room for misunderstanding, which is the polar opposite of what punctuation should do. And personally I don't use "whom" because it's basically ceased to be a part of the English language. Languages evolve, and when basically no-one uses a word right, then the "incorrect" definition will become correct by popular demand. On this note: I hate it when people decide to be [wagon] about grammar for no good reason. If it doesn't interfere with understanding then you should get your trousers out of their twist and move on.
  2. My idea on it is: If you're already emotionally invested before you ask them out (normally what happens if you have a crush, and wait a while before actually asking them out) it'll screw over friendship because it'll hurt you. However if you're not that invested (the crush started very recently and you act quickly) then it won't really hurt and you can easily maintain friendship. Hence why you should always ask a girl out if you have the urge to. Better to get it out in the open (best case: it's mutual, worst case: the friendship should be fine because you weren't invested yet and can immediately move on in your romantic scope). The whole "I don't want to ruin our friendship" is a BS excuse for being afraid.

This is why I'm glad I only took AP history courses in High School. Sure it murdered my GPA, but I also got a less biased viewpoint from it. Although we never learned anything about recent history because our world history teacher was incompetent and never made it past WWII (she spent a full week on Holocaust camps when we were already nearly a month behind).
  4. Just finished Fate/Zero. Their incredibly liberal interpretations of Alexander the Great and King Arthur* kind of annoyed me, but I can't deny that it was still pretty good. I don't think I'm going to forget the worms any time soon.... [hide=spoilers] Not only did you make Arthur a girl (which raises some BIG questions about Mordred, hot damn) but then you had her defeat Lancelot in a swordfight at the end? Arthur wasn't even that amazing of a swordsman according to lore jeez. [/hide]

Saying WWII was in the 19th century sounds like a brain fart to me. I mean it's easy to think "oh so the 1900's" if you're rushing through the test or in general not paying enough attention. And heck I doubt I'd recognize Mao Zedong either. If there were other famous dictators from the area and time period listed with him I'd be guessing. Mind, not finding a country as large as the US on a map IS intriguing. I'll run the article through a translator later.

Maddy, there is only one way to deal with tyrants and that is rebellion. Burn their ill-earned thrones and let the flames cry freedom! But seriously, good luck. There are few things more frustrating than people abusing power.

It's absurd that you can have your reputation screwed so badly when they don't have anything even approaching proof.

I think I'm finally getting the hang of League of Legends, despite deciding to start as a Twisted Fate main. But hey my K/D ratio is good.
  10. ^Steins;Gate is one of my all time favorites just because of how convoluted it gets. I can't comment on the other two though since I haven't seen them. Speaking of which I just finished Neon Genesis Evangelion and I'm still trying to figure out its ending.
  11. Addendum: Do NOT attempt to use this as a method of bringing up that you'd like a her to give you a lap dance.
  12. You guys are forgetting to incorporate push/pull. You have to tug her hair, then shove her into a wall. That's how you get the ladies.
  13. So I just wanted to see if you guys agreed with me on something: Looking back on the past year or so since I broke up with my ex, I think I've been going about things wrong. Rather than passively waiting for a person I find attractive to pop up I've been actively trying to find one, which has lead to me pursuing a few people who when I think back on it I wasn't really attracted to. Luckily, all of those were flops due to finding out they were already taken or just being rejected. The problem is these have lead to me missing chances of dating people that I would have probably really enjoyed dating. I'd say I've only asked out one person I REALLY wanted to date, with the two others slipping by due to me pursuing people that I had no real interest in (which I would have realized had I stopped to really think about it). I guess what I'm saying is that I need to stop thinking "I want a girlfriend" and start thinking "If I run across someone cool enough to date I'll definitely go for it, but I've got plenty to keep life interesting anyways". I think I'll do a lot better and end up doing a lot less dumb things then. I might just be talking out of my ass though, which is why I posted this here.

Just got League of Legends working on my Laptop for the first time in months, right after I finished downloading the MMO "The Secret World" to play with a friend. And of course I've still got my TF2 addiction so basically my last week of winter break is going to be spent unproductively.

Today I discovered this thanks to Tumblr: http://pompeiana.org/Resources/Ancient/Graffiti%20from%20Pompeii.htm Warning: There's some coarse language, but on the other hand it's a great look into Pompeii culture and how the people then weren't so different after all. This in particular cracked me up: II.2.1 (Bar of Astylus and Pardalus); 8408: Lovers are like bees in that they live a honeyed life II.2.3 (Bar of Athictus; right of the door); 8442: I screwed the barmaid

I always assumed Tobuscus wasn't rich to begin with, but that could be completely false.
  17. Have I posted this here before? Because I'm incapable of looking at this image without laughing.
  18. ^Every class can be useful in MvM, although you definitely don't want multiples of any of them. Although sniper and spy require a lot more skill to do well than, say, heavy.
  19. ^Yeah but we can complain about it. Hot air is free after all.
  20. Here, I'll link them. [/hide] Oh, and the trailer for the third movie has been leaked:
  21. Well I bought steel keychain versions of Mami's Tiro Finale gun, Homura's shield, and Kyoko's spear tip (although that one is going to be a gift) for subtle fanboy usage. Also finished Bokurano, and am debating whether I should start on a new anime or actually spend my time doing something useful for a while.
  22. Personally I'm not a huge fan of tattoos, but unless it's really badly done or really in my face I won't really mind. Unless it's on the face or something though the location won't much affect my opinion of it.
  23. This post is epic. What a fail post. OT: Overseas shipping. I managed to get free shipping on a purchase coming from China, but now have to wait up to a month for it to arrive.
