Had orientation yesterday and today and it was a blast (I managed to talk my mom into letting me stay overnight). Probably the most story-worthy part is when I was at a Leadership seminar with a muslim friend and her friend (also muslim) sitting next to me. The speaker asked me for an example of a great leader, and I said Richard the Lionheart. Luckily my friend didn't jump to conclusions and take offence. But yeah, saying that a leader of a crusade was pretty impressive in front of a muslim was a bit tacky. In other news, I have my first phone, which is also a smartphone. Edited because my mind thinks one thing and my hands type another.

^Or just yank on the stem and watch it unravel perfectly. If you want to jump around without it being loud, land on your toes and bend your legs into a squat as you land. This'll turn something that'd normally shake a house into a quiet landing. It also is a good way of absorbing the shock of a fall, as long as it isn't higher than the roof of a one story building (if it is you'll smash your tailbone into the ground and break it, probably). Also, the sneakiest way to move fast? Bend your knees as mucha s possible and speed walk. Bent legs= long strides= fast, and although it isn't as fast as running it's way quieter as you aren't jumping. Disadvanatge is it looks really silly.

Bought Mount&Blade: Warband and Assassin's Creed II for a total of $10. That should cover my gaming needs for a while.

Yeah I'm staying at home for college, because we couldn't afford me dorming (and I only live a half hour drive away). Those're my reasons anyways. I can hear my dad trying to talk some sense into her right now, but it's going to be a hard battle. My main issue with calmly explaining is that I can't use logic with her. I'll logically explain one thing, and she'll interrupt me halfway through to make another crappy counter argument. And she tends to go back to old arguments and ignore what I said about them too. And if I make one tiny exploitable statement it will be used against me for the entire argument.

Probably not. They've always had the mentality of "weird not wrong, everyone else is" when it comes to parenting. I'm probably going to try anyways sooner or later as I'm getting to the point where I NEED more freedom to make it. If I'm going to run a business like a martial arts studio I can't be awkward and sheltered. I need to make my own mistakes so that I can learn from them. For now though I'm just going to try to cool down a bit before trying again.

Half the reason why I want to stay overnight at orientation is because I'm sick of being socially inactive and not knowing many people. Stuff like orientation is a great chance to meet people. But nope, the 19 year old black belt (hell my entire career plan revovles around the martial arts, I think I know how to defend myself already) is more like a helpless toddler. I normally try to avoid complaining about parents, but nothing is more frustrating than when I finally am trying to force myself to become as social as I can be and undo my major faults I get to have my parents try to stop it. (Well, my dad is fine with it, but my mom wears the pants so that doesn't matter.) I really hope I can either talk her into it or make her at least tolerate it.

Endermen are incredibly scary, but not dangerous as long as you're careful. Creepers and skeletons are the real killers. Oh, a skeleton? Yeah it'll be mostly useless in comp (especially that the overload jump and damage glitches were fixed). However, on a map with a ridiculous chokepoint (like dustbowl) all you need is this and a dispenser to ruin the day of anyone who needs to walk through it. Also, Beggar's Bazooka solly+ Brass Beast heavy +Dispenser= level 3 sentry with reduced accuracy but improved intelligence.

Noticing an absence in a forum is hard because there's no obvious hole or anything. You need to first notice you haven't seen a guy post, and then realize they haven't been posting. Of course I disappear every other week sometimes, so I don't exactly get much of a chance to see who's been posting. In other news, grad party and pool party today. Hopefully the sun will help undo my massive tan lines. In other news, I'm teaching a total of 20 hours of classes next week at the martial arts studio, and thus getting tons of practice, distraction, and a good paycheck too. Sometimes I love the summer.

Saying no straight away may be the best thing to do, but gosh it tends not to feel like it. In other news, I get tot each a karate camp next week. 4 hours a day for 5 days showing 7 or 8 kids how to kick and stuff every morning. Best part is I get paid for it. Spamming M1 with the Beggar's makes it fire at about the same speed as a vanilla rocket launcher. Except you have your entire ammo pool as a clip. Basically sacrificing your ability to be ready for anything and accuracy for massive burst damage and devastating sustained fire capabilities. I'm just going to go out and call it a crutch and borderline OP.
