"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Well that was weird. [hide=Some stuff in here may offend people] Talking with my ex (yeah we still talk daily, but I'm over her emotionally now so it isn't painful [not physically, but that's something a new girlfriend would cure]), and she confesses that she's realized she was bi. Something which I'd known for a year already but she'd always denied. I tease her about this a lot with "I told you so"s and such, and then inquire deeper because I'm honestly curious (it's interesting to hear what a girl finds attractive in girls, etc). By the end of the nigh porn has come up* and she's gotten a porn site link from me and is looking at it for the first time. I go to bed then, and the next day she admits to me that she pleasured herself to it. She now really likes it although she doesn't like to admit it. So yeah, I've gotten another guy's girlfriend to watch porn. I don't even know. I almost feel like that was kind of like cheating. But it's not like anything to that degree happened. He knows she watched it (although not that her ex got her the links), and is fine with that. And it's not like she's attracted to me whatsoever anymore, so I don't see that being an issue. Nonetheless, my conscience is bugging me. Like on the one hand I feel like as boyfriend I wouldn't feel comfortable with my girlfriend's ex being so buddy buddy with her and talking about such touchy subjects. But on the other hand our discussions are entirely platonic. *Don't ask how this ended up happening, I'm not sure. [/hide]

Age Reversal
Accept* First time I've seen that misused. Sorry lol but I had to do it. I can't believe I did that. <_< I KNOW BETTER, I KNOW I DO. I'm just going to go ahead and lie and say I was really tired while typing that or something. Also, when did this get its own thread? I could've sworn this started off as a tangent in the Today thread or something....

Age Reversal
Ethically: Some people would be able to afford these pills, other wouldn't. That isn't ethical. Socially: Crime rates could spike due to people stealing pills. (50 years in prison isn't as bad if you can live an extra 200 years.) Religiously: Religions everywhere would flip their shit. Ecologically: Our expanding population would demolish rainforests and other life-harboring areas of Earth. Thousands of species would fall. Economically: Prices would skyrocket of food, fuel, energy, housing, etc. Only plus side would be people dying less from natural causes. I think old people SHOULD die. Death is a part of life. If you can't except that then either you're too young to (understandable), or are clinging to what is a brief part of a greater cycle far too fiercely. Even if you're an atheist, death is what makes life sweet. Immortality would get boring fast.

5' 8" and ~130 lbs.... I haven't checked either in over a year though, so it's probably changed (likely gone up as I've been exercising a lot more, and I've always been skinny). Also, OT is overall very skinny, isn't it?

Age Reversal
Immortality for our entire race would either kill us all or lead to a global police state. If no-one dies naturally, how do we feed everyone? You either have to heavily regulate having children (almost ban it), or you have people executed for being too old. If neither of those were done we'd suck the planet dry of all resources (especially food) like a horde of locusts. Also, anything can get stale if you do it long enough. A good painter enjoys being creative and trying new things. If he paints for 200 years he'll run out of ideas. However it's almost 1 AM where I am and I had a very long day. I'll argue more tomorrow.

Age Reversal
^A lot of people are completely obsessed with continuing to exist. But really, a never ending story gets stale. Without death life would have no zest to keep us interested. It's the shortness of our time on this planet that makes it so sweet.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends. RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes. Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy. Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him. I strike out every other week. Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone. Randox pretty much stays rational. Etc, etc I missed a lot of people, but I pretty much just looked at the most recent posters. My point is we're all predictable. :ohnoes: OT: Prom is rapidly approaching, and a girl whom I like but doubt I have a chance with (she just doesn't seem interested) is working on her masquearade amsk during the same periods and in the same room as me. I guess I'll find out if I have a chance pretty quick. Something tells me I'll be entering college single though. Not that that's a bad thing.

Real life help & advice
A karate studio I went to once did meditation, so here're my two cents: Meditation is just relaxing and clearing your mind for a while. The sitting position is up to you (we kneeled) entirely. A great way to help with clearing your mind is doing a little bit of exercise before and after (can even be as simple as some push-ups). Tiring yourself out a tad helps your mind cool it. What we did was jumping jacks, then a brief mediation then finished warm-ups (push-ups, etc) and the rest of the class and then had a meditation at the end of class to calm ourselves after the exercise. So yeah, a bit of exercise will help you meditate well. And also exercise comes with the side benefit of making you happier (endorphin) and of course improving your physical condition.

Today...
A series of bad encounters with wasps, fire ants, and bees has lead to a similar reaction from me as well. A fly? -dodges violently- I've slowly gotten better (I'd flat out run away from any flying insect back in middle school, but now I just flinch and if I know it's coming I can suppress even that), but it's still annoying and embarrassing as heck. And amen to hatred of all biting and stinging insects. Mosquitoes being the worst in my area (yellow jackets a close second). But hey, at least there aren't any Japanese giant hornets in the USA. I'd defecate myself pretty quickly if I stumbled into a hive of those (and then likely be killed).

If you both have bikes, a bike ride could be nice. Or a walk through somewhere scenic. If you have a car and gas drive her somewhere pretty like a local beach/river/woods/landmark. If she's bookish hang out a bit in the library. If you live in a city just go "exploring" through the city (warning, although there isn't any direct need to buy in the city, she'll likely want stuff). Or just watch movies at your house or something. If she's energetic challenge her to a sword fight with some random sticks/ cardboard tubes. Such thigns tend to degenerate to grappling and grappling is rather nice when it's a romantic interest. Or combine any of those, I guess. Also: Board games.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I'm pretty sure I know what I'm looking for with relationships. Partially, it's the physical intimacy (not just sex, which is admittedly great, but especially miss kisses, etc). Another big bit is that they're fun as hell. I wouldn't date someone if I couldn't have fun when around them. And finally it has to be someone I feel like I can trust with all of the thoughts I have that are sometimes blatantly bad and other times just stupid. It's nice to have someone filter those for you. (In other words, a person I can trust and who won't be a yes-man.*) Mind, you can never know if a person will really fit with you in these ways until you try. *woman As far as polyamory goes, I'm just really set into the monogomous model. Probably because my first girlfriend (I don't count the girl I dated for a month and barely hugged, or the girl I dated for a day only) and I dated for over two years and were both excedingly clingy. Old habits die hard for me. I mean, I'm a vegetarian simply because I was a vegetarian growing up and now just don't want to bother altering my diet/ don't want to deal with the change. I have nothing against meat, but I'll never end up eating it. But then, I'm still in highschool as of now, and my views may change when I'm in college next year. **This post is kinda disorganized and I never got to my point, so I'll edit it later.**

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Welp, I threw "enjoying the single life" out of the window once again by developing attractions to two new girls. However, in these cases I may just let them slip by, for the following reasons: Girl A: An old friend, she has never shown any hints towards feelings beyond friendship for me. Last time I asked if she wanted to hang out (there weren't any ulterior motives at that point), sheshot me down flat out saying she was looking for someone who'd be able to let loose a bit more. (She drinks and smokes weed occasionally, something which I never do, although I have no issue with others doing it.) Girl B: Met her this year, she's in my AP English class (that class is filled with cute and smart girls), and she's basically from an entirely different life than me. I know abrely anything about her, and her opinion of me seems to be tolerant and nothing more or less in most cases. In short, I don't think I have a chance whatsoever with either of them. (If I think there's even a one in a million shot I generally go for it.) So, I think I'll justignore these new attractions for now unless something new pops up that makes me think I do have a shot (which will likely happen as I read extra deeply into every little movement and find excuses to boost my confidence whenever I'm crushing on someone). Also, prom could end up being a fun night, what with at least two girls having all but promised to dance with me and the fact that formal clothes suit me very well. ...I've noticed I tend to answer my own questions here a lot. I think typing them out helps my mind organize everything and lets me come to decisions faster. Me, spam all of you so as to find my way through my own chaotic mind? Never.

^Do it. Not asking someone out and eltting it stew just elaves you wondering. Asking them out leaves you with the truth, whatever it may be. In short, don't be afraid to confess your true feelings. And if you refuse to, then don't complain when thigns rarely go your way as far as relationships are cocnerned. There aren't many high school girls who will take the initiative.

Alright, first of all no. Sweets are bad in excess. So don't go living off M&Ms and Coca-Cola. But having a soda or a candy bar weekly or even daily won't detriment your health whatsoever. Also, most alternative sweeteners aren't any better than sugar as far as I know. Don't be a dick and try to control the diets of your friends, as I know I personally would get sick of being around someone that controlling very quickly. "hot water is unnaturally hot, so if you like evolutionary arguments, then it makes sense that it might not be the ideal thing to wash with" ...What. You obviously do not know what evolution is if you're referencing it in that context.... Before I say anything else, are you an organic nut? Answer these 3 questions: -Do you hate the idea of eating produce that has had pesticides used in its production or has been genetically engineered in any way? -Do you avoid all artificial products with a passion? -How often do you wear tye-dye?

He also has been talking about you behind your back a lot. I overheard him telling RPG that you were ugly at the water cooler earlier today.

Searching my internet monicker (in an un-abbreviated form) turns up a ton of blackmail worthy material. WHY DID I HAVE TO CHOOSE A UNIQUE NAME? AHHHHHHH (In short, an abandoned Fanfiction account I made to psot a single parody several eyars ago, an abandoned deviantart account i never really used, an abandoned Gaia online account, and my posts in the TiF relationship thread are all on the first page.) ...I really hope none of my friends decide to search me. And now you're all going to search it and I'll never live it down. [bleep].

That explains a lot. Please elaborate. He's calling you a communist. Go fight him in real life.

Am I the only one who noticed him saying that he doesn't want his friend to eat sweets? ...I don't even. But yeah, get Head and Shoulders or even store brand anti-dandruff shampoo and have him wash his hair at least a few tiems a week. If he doesn't wash his hair a few tiems a week dandruff will be the least of his problems.
