I'm opening this for the veteran runescape players, such as myself, but if you're a newer player with some knowledge of RSC feel free to post. In order for this debate to work, I'm going to have to set a time(or your own) for the new age versus old. Old age includes RSC and the transition period is the first few months of rs2. New age is obviously from then on :mellow: Which time period did you enjoy playing runescape the most?

I agree that the GE shouldn't be removed, but it wouldn't work without price limits. If you removed the price limits then RWT might come back :ohnoes: Jagex could have implemented a better system to combat RWT instead of price limits... RS needs anti-trust laws or something of that sort in order to prevent another Great Depression...

I agree that defence needs a boost. The near-uselessness of it in pvp forces players to make pures :( Also, a counter attack feature for defenders would be nice or even *gasp* a shield block! I mean I lug around a 5 kilogram rune kiteshield in f2p, why can't I block attacks with it?

Or maybe implement this into the normal spellbook and have mining increase earth spells, fishing increase water spells, or something like that. F2p magic does kind of need a boost. And no firemaking is not useless.

I can see that it's well though out(or copied), but I see many issues in this. First of all, the community rejection. Many players who are already sick of the constant pkin changes will suddenly get introduced to a new and complicated system. The RS forums would be spammed with rants all with the same title, 0MGZ WTF 1S WID |>V|>??!?!? Like last time, many players would quit. Second, the altered GE would cause the prices of major items to crash, then suddenly skyrocket because of the uncertainty in the new system. Third, the pk points would add to the confusion along with the not being able to be bank items. My last point being, it isn't RWT proof. This suggestion well thought out, but it's too complicated for most players to understand. Also, I can see this creating numerous amounts of glitches/bugs :ohnoes:

Hiding is completely legal. Any 10 year-old with their brother's account can whine about how you're such a noob for hiding, or how you cheated by hiding, or house hugging, or rock hugging, or... They're all part of the game. If Jagex had not intended for this to happen, they would have removed the houses and shrink the arena down to a 10X10 square. But, that would be really boring :shame:

I don't think it's severe enough to get banned for, but it is unfair for those who don't have mouse keys. Something should be done about it on Jagex's end, some people still have to mine the old fashioned way. :sad: Btw, not everyone uses crappy Windows or the bloated Mac. :-o

In most cases, it really depends on what your other stats are, but overall the best 99 to have would be attack. Attack is needed for EVERY melee weapon in the game, just get your strength to 40 and you've got yourself a really good attack pure.

This isn't a rant because it didn't affect me very much, the only items I took off were desert robes, a nezzy, and an obsidian cape. This was just an issue that many of my friends ran into and other ex-mems who were upset by this.

During my winter vacation I decided to end my subscription so I wouldn't be tempted to play so much over the break. So I went to do the Christmas event and I found out that I had to take my cape, weapon, and shield in order for the ghost disguise to work. I wear an obsidian cape(for the colors), but many other ex-members wore skill capes and other expensive weapons. It does make sense that the disguise wouldn't work with a cape, weapon, or shield, but was this intentionally done by Jagex just to get ex-mems to start paying again? Yes you aren't paying so why should you get updates, but why force players to lose the glamor of certain member's items?

I think the idea of them is great, but the 1000 level is indeed too easy to accomplish in p2p. If people haven't said it, the requirement should be in experience, it' a bit more universal between p2p and f2p.

Yes they don't pay, but Jagex announced that f2p is not a demo, so why shouldn't it be balanced? I made this thread as a cry for improvement to the f2p combat triangle. So far, nothing has been done about it.

I loved classic dueling and I still do. As much as I hate McDonalds I'm gonna say it. I'm lovin it :grin:

I used to hide and win all the time, then I realized if I stood in the fist, I would win and not waste time :thumbsup: FOG isn't free exp to those noob mages.
