  1. Heya, I'd love a new sig to add to my collection! Really, anything you want to make - the canvas is blank! Except, I don't want any Runescape graphics on it. Other than that, knock yourself out. Text should include: Thanking you
  2. Not quite your typical Music question, as it's not actually about music, but how do you folks listen to your music/PC's/TV? Wireless headphones? 5.1/2.1? Noise-cancelling, in-ear plugs? The reason I'm asking is that I'm looking to buy a 5.1 set for my PC to go to Uni with (good for me, not so good for people on the same corridor : ), but I'm struggling to find something that I actually want to spend money on. I want a set that sounds pretty hot, but also looks the job as well. After having pretty much decided on a set of Logitech Z-5300's, which are supposed to be top class, I can't find anywhere in the UK that sells them. Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe you live in the UK and have managed to get hold of a set of these...
  3. Right, so it gathers data from the database on the server side, and compiles it onto the page so that it is simpler for the browser to read, essentially making the page that the browser sees a basic HTML page?
  4. That would be awesome, yes please! I've been away for the last week, hence, lack of posts, but a quick intro would be ace. What I understand of it so far is that it is like a 'plug-in' for the web server, allowing the server to read and use PHP code, but I'm not clear on why PHP should be used.
  5. Thanks everyone: Joedastud, those sites are great, ta muchly! I am not using WAMP, as on several of the forums I went on, it was not recommended to use an all in one package. I have Apache/MySQL/PHP set-up and working now anyway, so there seems little point in changing to WAMP, but thanks anyway. Cruiser, I haven't just dived straight in and gone for the big time. I've pretty much exhausted the supply of Static HTML ttorials I could find, so I've moved onto dynamic. So far I've been learning the basics on how databases and HTML interact and connect, but now that I want to move onto actually producing something, not necessarily the main website, but at least something productive rather tha just looking at code all the time, I can't find any tutorials that are written for my server type. Also, as I found with HTML, trying to learn it by itself was a bit of a fruitless exercise, I found that if I did the tutorials and produced something, it helped put what I was learning into a useful context. If I use something like PHPMyAdmin, is it strictly necessary to learn the PHP language, would you say? ClareJonsson, thanks again! Yes, I thought that it might be that as when I was playing around connecting the database to Dreamweaver, I had to create the site root there. I've created the file there that you suggest, and everything seems to be working fine, I get the long list of info. No, I don't have any previous programming experience.
  6. No no, that music is now yours. Simply plug in the new iPod and all data should be transferred to it.
  7. Thanks very much clare, I'm sure those scripts will come in useful! I've downloaded PHPMyAdmin, but I can't figure out where to extract the files. On the Official Wiki, it says to extract it to the web host root document root, but I'm not sure what this is. My Web host is Apache, but which folder within that do i need to extract it to? The configuration section also confuses me...
  8. As weezcake said, place the time indicator thing where you want to start the edit, and click split (the button that is like one rectangle that has just 'split' into two). Go to where you want the edit to finish and split it again. Then, right click the section you want editted out and delete it. The movie will then be seperated however. You need to click and drag the part that is stranded so that it follows on from the first section. You can then choose different effects to merge them together better, such as 'blackout' and 'dissolve'. Do this by right clicking and clicking 'Effects'. You can do all sorts in WMM. Check out the video I made for the TET kidnapping, it was ALL done using Hypercam and WMM: (Turn up your speakers)
  9. Heya, I'm hoping someone can help me here. I'm trying to build a web site at the moment, but up until a few weeks ago, I had never tried anything like this before. Basically, I know very little about coding/web servers etc., so I'm learning everything I know from online tutorials. I'm currently using Dreamweaver, I have MX 2004 and Version 8. I have downloaded and successfully installed Apache web server on my own PC to act as a localhost for testing, and have installed MySQL and PHP onto it. I'm not too keen to divulge the exact content of the site at the moment, but to construct the website, I need to construct a user-registration page, and allow users to upload a single image file which will then be resized to a thumbnail and displayed on a page with many other images. Presumably this involves creating a database and writing to it the location of the image on the server, then creating a table in Dreamweaver that is linked to the database (please tell me if I'm wrong btw). However, i can't seem to find any tutorials that tell me how to do this using MySQL and PHP, the only ones I have found so far use ASP coding, and use Access as the database with IIS or PWS - not helpful to me as I have XP Home and can't install IIS. If anyone could provide me with a good source of information on constructing dynamic sites with SQL/PHP, that would be really, really helpful. Thanks a lot.
  10. [hide] [/hide] Wow, well that certainly told me :-s Much as I would love to indulge in the flame-fest you seem to be eager to antagonise me into, I think I'll resist, as I fear that would bring me down to the lowest common denominator.
  11. However, it is surprising how few people recognise qwertyuiop spelt backwards! I love the way that people are openly admitting to knowing all about how to hack into runescape, just to either make themselves sound knowledgable...
  12. Calvernator! Oh yeh
  13. It wasn't a live round, it was a blank that fired a copper bullet cap. The gun was used previously in a close-up shot, so they couldn't convincingly use a blank round as it looks different to a live round. They also didn't want to put a live round in the gun and point it at the camera, for obvious reasons, so they used just the copper head of the bullet, but used no gunpowder. In the next scene that the gun was used in, Lee was supposed to be shot with the gun, triggering a blood pack in his chest. The gun was loaded with a blank round (which usually contain around 5 times more gunpowder to create a loud bankg, but they don't have a bullet cap. Unfortunately, the copper cap from the previous scene had been left in the gun,so when the blank went off, it propelled the copper cap into Brandon Lee's abdomen, killing him. Must have been pretty shocking to watch! Look out for the last few scenes, you'll be amazed that they were actually acted by a body double, and had Lee's face superimposed in. Quite impressive editting, I'm sure you'll agree!
  14. Phat set - Skills will only benefit you and will be boring after a while, if you were gievn a Phat set, you could 'spread the love' to your friends by selling them and sharing out some of the money.
  15. Yes DOOMY, but isn't it a little sad that some people feel the need to brag at all? You will notice how players who are high levels, as in, lvl 95 and above, DON'T brag about it? This is because they don't feel the need to brag, they know they're good, they don't need to belittle other people to make themselves feel big. However, as Timo Cruz said in the film Coach Carter (infinite source of wisdom :P): "Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you....And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same." In other words, don't belittle people, but also don't play yourself down, solely so that other people can feel big. This ain't good for the self-esteem! This speech is also from Nelson Mandela's 1994 inauguration speech, written by Marianne Williamson.
  16. Hmm, fair point but it will make fletching more popular - mans you don't give yourself eye strain stringing bows!!
  17. As if Fletching wasn't quick enough XP already!? It's just completely nerfed fletching.
  18. Sign me up for that! Brilliant idea, well done.
  19. Does money count?
  20. What, you feel the need to type like you are typing on a typewriter? It seems somewhat ironic that you are slating autoers for being annoying when you are not prepared to change your own irritating ways... ANYWAY! I dunno really, I used to get annoyed by autoers buying up the runes in the rune shop too, as thats how I made around 20 mil, it gets thoroughly frustrating when you seem to be following an autoer around the worlds. It got even more irritating when Jagex raised the prices of the runes in the shops so that it cut your profit margin even more. Other than that, I'd have to say mining autoers. I find the bots chopping yews the least annoying, partly because I hate woodcutting, but mainly because they keep the price of yew logs down, which helped enormously when I was fletching to 99. That may be morally wrong to admit though...
  21. Thank's so much for leading the motley crew to create the best Runescape fansite in existance. Good luck in any of your future ventures!
  22. It's reallu up to how much time you have! As you can only report one per minute, report them until you get bored. Just make sure that they are definitely autoers before you report them -you don't want to get a legit player banned, nor do you want to get into trouble for reporting people who aren't autoers.
  23. AFK means - Away From Keyboard, right? So, training, and going to do Number 1 Or 2 (or at same time) Is against the rules? LOL I doubt that's fair. Say what? Use your common sense, Jagex aren't going to ban you fro periodically going to the loo. However it isn't exactly recommended, I once lost around 10mil worth of stuff (Red halloween mask included), after I went to answer the phone.
  24. Hmm,I wonder if my nooby account , 'Orrifice' is considered offensive... Unfortunately, most of your points seem to be completely unfounded. Teleporting to Camelot is NOT against the rules, it is NOT abusing any bugs, it's a valid way of raising your magic level. If Jagex built it into the game and didn't like it, they would alter it by reducing the amount of XP gained for either that particular teleport, or all teleports. It's magic, its a simple way of gaining XP, why would they 'hate' it? Everybody has the right to remain silent, for s atart, its the law. Just because you don't talk when doing repetitive tasks doesn't mean that you MUST be a macroer. Take power mining iron ore for example. I can mine an iron ore in one strike, meaning that when I train at the group of 3 iron ores in Ardougne, it's avery intense method of training. Why would I want to waste time talking to people, reducing the number of ores I mine and increaseing the length of time I'm there for? People are entitled not to talk, thats their choice. As someone said above me, AFK training already is against the rules, so your point is what exactly? Emptying the shop of runes is again, the players choice. It doesn't indicate certainty that a player is a macroer, he/she could be a player that needs those runes quickly. It can't be particularly difficult to determine the difference between a legit player and a macroer programmed to constantly drain the shop, for starters the macro would buy runes as they appeared, buying them one at a time. This shouldn't therefore be considered 'suspicious'. Skillers? Jagex don't hate skillers, mainly because they make up a significant chunk of the economy (supply). It's completely up to the player how they train their account, if Jagex stipulate that you are not allowed to level one skill significantly higher than the rest, that would be ridiculous. Similarly, telling players that they HAVE to raise their combat level is just stupid. If Jagex wanted this, they would code in a cap to the skill total you could have without raising your combat level. With most of these things, if Jagex don't want it to happen, they could code into the game a factor that physically prevents people from doing it. Yes a lot of people would be annoyed at it, but if it's truly what Jagex want, they would do it.
