  1. I like this man ! [shadowFaxPZ that is] Then you'll love this. [spoiler=Viewer Discretion Advised. NSFW]
  2. OT taught me how to make logical arguements to support my views. It also taught me of the existence of 4chan and Omegle. I'm curious, what stereotypes would those be? first I just want to point out that stereotypes are generalizations, therefore they show general trends, not the opinions of anyone in particular. they are also opinions, reflecting me. - Americans believe in the right to freedom, even when the moral cost is substantial. - The american justice system protects itself, not individuals - Americans are mostly far to the right, politically. - Religion stands strong in America, in principle, but the morality of religion seems lost. - America has been holliwoodified by hollywood, culture (sports, music, opinion etc.) have changed accordingly - extreme examples, dominate american opinions. they are scaremongered by their media - differences in american society are massive. The middle class of america are worse off than in Europe. - Socialism is always horrible, every man is his own castle. - view and knowledge about the world outside america is limited. few actively seek this on their own, and must meet other cultures before they see things globally. What a load of [cabbage]. How can you realize your intellectual potential unless you experiment as you grow up? academia is not for everyone Lawl juxtaposition.

From a thread in Varrock Library. [spoiler=Am in the process of reading:] Sherlock Holmes Vol. 2--not much to say, basically an extension of the previous one. Twenty Years After--The sequel to Dumas' The Three Musketeers, which I liked. The translation is key here. Be sure to read a few pages to make sure it isn't some chopped english translation before buying. E.A.Poe's works (not the real title)--Great stuff. 'Nuff said. Robert Louis Stevenson's works--Possibly even better than Poe's, if only for the philosophy in some of them. It--Because I wanted to read more Stephen King. I haven't gotten far enough to say whether I like it. The Story of Philosophy-Will Durant--Makes a potentially dull subject very interesting, while providing you with good knowledge. I definitely reccommend it, but don't expect any excitement. The Malcontents--A collection of satire and unhappiness from across the ages. At times a bit slow, but very entertaining. [spoiler=Plan to read:] Friday Night Lights--Because I found it on my bookshelf and it looked good. The rest of the Three Musketeers series 20000 Leagues Under the Sea--Looks like a fun read. Bram Stoker's Dracula--because. Kafka's the Metamorphosis Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground That should keep any reader with similar tastes interested for a while. If anyone has read any or wants to warn me away from one, please do so. Edit: I didn't really do what OP requested. For reccommendations, if you liked one book from the list, you'll like the rest, with the exception of the differences in writing styles. As for Atlas Shrugged...I reccommend that you leave it on the shelf.
  4. I forgot this was Disney, where telling everyone everything will be okay is just plain fantastic and nobody judges others! I don't know where you dance, either. Being sarcastic doesn't make you sound any smarter. If anything, it does the opposite. A. Except everyone juding is really not the truth. That's your opinion presented as truth. B. Not everything you have on your mind should just be spewed in a post. C. Telling someone who asks for advice about his dancing, after clearly showing that he's very inconfident about his dancing, that everyone would judge it seems cruel, unrealistic, and quite honestly, pointless. But maybe that's just me. You're both wrong. People come to this thread for advice, so lieing is just pointless. BUt Romy is right, people don't judge each other that much unless you're doing something really ridiculous. Just move your body to the beat, all you need is a tiny little bit of musical ability. Wait...you mean you found a girl on Runescape, on the internet? And she's attractive? You might be God. Have you ever tried to divide by zero? [/troll] Just keep a level head. Congrats, but remember if it starts fast, it could easily end fast.
  5. Hmm...they both have brown hair? I'm not seeing it.
  6. What does Man Law #1 say about if he proposes on the internet and gets rejected but never really dated? How many hours until I can propose?
  7. Roses are red Violets are violet Chivalry is dead And so are the pirates. I don't mean to sass My dear Queen Valerie, you don't want Das But will you have me? Just in case you have no idea who I am, here are some pictures [spoiler=Who's this good-looking fellow?] [spoiler=IRL] I wrote you a song too. (C/C pls?) [hide] It was many and many a year ago In a kingdom by the sea That a maiden there lived whom you may know By the name of Queen Valerie. And this maiden she lived with no other thought Than to love and be loved by me. I was a troll and she was a mod In this kingdom by the sea But we loved with a love that was more than love I and my Queen Valerie A love that the winged seraphs in heaven Coveted her and me. And so the wind blew out of a cloud by night Chilling and [spoiler ALERT!!1@!] killing my Queen Valerie [insert pwnage guitar solo here] For the moon never beams Without bringing me dreams Of the beautiful Queen Valerie. And the stars never rise But I see the bright eyes Of the beautiful Queen Valerie. So all the night-tide I lie down by the side Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride(pls) In her sepulchre there by the sea. In her tomb by the sounding sea. Sung to the tune of "Chocolate Rain" [/hide] It's totally cool if you just want to be friends though. By the way, any other takers? "Annabelle Lee" is pretty easy to mess around with.
  8. I think he was making a reference to the whole description describing you too. Don't pull that first person to third person [cabbage] on me :/ I read that and got really confused for a minute :wall: Don't worry, I have no idea what your hair looks like.

That's one of the things that really bothers me about modern English classes. The whole analysis thing tends to destroy all of the pleasure of reading a book. Also, I sometimes feel like high school English programs are very narrow. At my high school we do a Shakespeare every year, including books from middle school I've read two works by [bleep]ens so far, and all this year we spent about three months on books that have no use other than to show us that China/Africa has culture. Meanwhile, many important authors who actually have things to say are ignored. Fortunately, no. Harry Potter maybe, but Twilight has no holding power. Give it 5 years and nobody will remember it beyond the odd reference to "sparkly vampires". Yes! I used to love Pratchett, unfortunately I read all of his books from the town library, and sort of lost interest. I hadn't heard he had dementia, that's a shame.
  10. What a blow for her. Those crazy British and their crazy laws. She should move to America, our "Tea Parties" are much more fun.
  11. Tbh I don't mind those ads :P Evony is really just the tip of the iceberg here. Seriously, have you ever played a game with women in it that did not in some way use them as teen-bait? And before you say Runescape, I've seen Rs ads/concept art etc that contained attractive females with significantly less clothing than most females wear. Maybe not as bad as some other games, but Jagex isn't completely innocent here.
  12. lol. I could make a cruel cruel joke. But I won't. You're so kind. Somebody else will probably make it anyways.
  13. Mazemeout, it's better than starting dating her and then realizing she's flirting with another guy in the park. The whole ignoring you thing and laughing at semi-funny jokes just sounds like she's immature to me. Oh, whatever, you can have your own tastes. But just saying, with a girl like that (sorry for making assumptions here), being upset about not being able to date her is probably the best outcome.
  14. The kid looks like he spent his teenage years on an online game, and consequentially has no friends in real life. It's a bit sad, but not really. At that age it's quite common that birthday parties will only be family events. What really makes me cry is that mop of hair. It's a sad day when a gamer can't stop no-lifing for long enough to get a haircut. Edit: The hair in Abc's "sad" pic, not the pwnage fro in Hairinator's pic.
  15. OP has a point, but it's drowned out by the complete idiocy in the rest of his post. Reading books makes you smarter. Reading books is enjoyable. Therefore, one should read books. I agree, people who try to be intellectual, or anyone who does anything for the sake of an image, are bloody annoying. But seriously, you sound like you think everyone who looks at a book is trying to look intellectual. Protip: Don't make an anti-reading thread on a forum designed for the elite of an online game. Supernerds read, and this is palce about as supernerdy as a place can be.

    Today...

Lol@istolethepie. Think of how awkward high school would be. Especially those classes with females who are especially... esthetically pleasing.

It's funny you should have this idea, because just a few days ago I made a post about good literature I've read recently in the "Coffee Shoppee" thread in Varrock Library. Unfortunately, the thread gets about half a visitor every week. If I get bored enough I may go retrieve the post and paste it in here. By the way, OP I remember the strip your avatar comes from.
  18. I expect puns, cabbage, and nothing game-changing or memorable beyond a few weeks.
  19. It looks like it would be annoying if you completed the Demo only to learn that the account could not be transferred, and you would have to start over on those nine quests and first few levels again. Or can the account be transferred to F2P and given a name? For those who cannot see Rhhh4's pic, Demo has 9 quests, a smaller world, no D&D/Minigames, 34 bank spaces, and no chat.
  20. Alright, I'm sorry I said it was /b/tarded. But it sort of is. Seriously, does anyone expect this to go anywhere? It's just people looking for publicity.
  21. No he di'n't! Oh theyre not that bad. Yes they are. Post count. :P Harrinator as a general rule, baggy clothing hides a bad body. Go for the tight ones.
  22. Some like it hot, some like it cold, some like to bump a thread, nine months old. The discussion is probably exhausted by now, but I've been wondering if there is any actual data on this myself. As a kid, I rarely watched TV, and my math capabilities were arguably the best in the school. My younger brother, on the other hand, watches significantly more TV and is not quite as talented [/self-flattery]. It's circumstantial, but it got me thinking. And also, what exactly do you all have against Dadaism? From the posts, all I got was a couple distorted arguements smothered in a delicious sauce of flame.
  23. While some get their stones early, others have to wait a bit longer. It's just the way nature works.
